I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS DAY

Tuesday, June 10, 2021. That morning the first thing i did when I woke up was to look at
the calendar at the corner of my table. Slowly I said a little prayer in my heart, hoping that
everything will be okay. After taking my shower, I went downstairs. My gorgeous mother had
made a delectable fried rice and sweet coffee for breakfast that day. Looking at my mom’s
face, made my heart pounding faster than the normal rate. I am the hope of my family and my
parents really rely on me to change the future of my family. I was not born with a silver spoon
in my mouth. So my life was never that easy. My mind kept on thinking about my result.
Actually, our batch was the first batch that created a new history in 2020 because we have to
take our Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia ( SPM ) results online via the Ministry of Education website.
I believed that it was happened for the reasons. I trusted that God’s plan was the best. I kept
on getting notification from my beloved best friends who shared with me about their anxious
feelings. My father told me to check my result after he made the circumcision prayers.
I replied to my father “ Alright dad, I will wait for you”.

After all my dearest family were prepared, I grabbed my phone and checked my results.
I could not believe my eyes. I stared with disbelief at my results for few minutes. And then the
first thing I did was to hug my mom. This time I seriously could not control my tears My mom
hugged, kissed and congratulated me while her tears rolled down her rosey cheeks. She was
on cloud nine. Then, I looked at my dad. He smiled and I saw that his eyes were filled with
tears. I was happy as happy as a lark. They were my source of strength I thank God for
giving me the sustenance of getting 8As in SPM. I also got many notifications from my friends
and also from my lovely teachers. They were asking me about my results Me with joyous
feeling shared this good news to them. They were very happy as happy as a calm and they
were congratulated me. On that day, I become very busy person because I had shared my
results with my contacts on my WhatsApp status. I received lots of wishes on my notifications
and it was the same situation happened during my birthday. I was very grateful to have good
friends who were happy with my achievements.

Later In the evening, my comely sister and her golden-hearted husband were came to my
parent’s home. They bought some food such as KFC and fruits to celebrate my achivement
in SPM. They told me that they were proud to have me as their sibling and younger sister.
They were over the moon. My mom also cooked some various of food such as chicken curry
and cheese cake while my dad bought satay. We ate together in jolly and happy mood. Deep
down inside my heart, I never stopped thanking to God for giving me the oppoturnity to have
a small feast with my family on my blissful day and made me became the gleeful girl in the
world that day. I did not ask anything from my parents as a gift because the truly gift for me
was when I saw them smiling. Plus, I also realised that I was not born in a rich family who can
asked anything for their achievements. However, my parents did give me some money as a
gift. They gave me RM100 because they appreciated all my hard work. I refused that money
and cried in front of my mom. I told her that I did not want that money because I knew how
hard my parents had to work to raise me and my siblings. But my mom forced me to take it..
She hugged me tightly and whispered to me “ That’s all that we can give to you for now”.
I looked at my mom and started to shed tears. At that moment, I made a promise in my little
heart “ I must succeed in life for the sake of my precious family”.

After that moment, I sat down on the sofa at my living room while taking some pictures.
Out of the blue, my sister and my brother in law came to me and asked me to take some
pictures with them outside the home. I did not feel curious because I thought that they were
really just wanted to take some pictures as memories but I was stupefied when I saw a girl
with two bouquets of money came to me and gave it to me. I was speechless. Then only I
knew the surprise was actually from my sister and brother in law. I would have never imagined
to get such a wonderful and amazing gift. I felt like I was in seventh heaven. I am blessed
and lucky to have them in my life. My journey to achive this achievement was not as easy as
people might think of. I had depression because of COVID-19 pandemic. As people know
that, our batch must study via online learning methods and I could not fully understand what I
learned in my online classes. Fortunately, COVID-19 cases in Kelantan were decrease a
week before SPM, so I could go to school. I was happy as happy as a Larry.

At the end of the day, I layed on my comfy bed with my felicitious feeling I ever felt in my
whole entire life. God listened and answered all my prayers in the middle of the night. My
efforts have been paid off and all the sacrifices and challenges were finally made a name for
myself. I had a quote that has inspired me to achieve my dreams “ I’m not telling you it’s
going to be easy, I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it ” by Arthur L. Williams Jr.
