Lupe was playing at the park. 3
She saw a pair of metal boots.
She put them on.

Lupe pushed a button on the boots.
WHOOSH!
She floated off the ground.

She pushed another button.
ZOOM! Lupe flew above the trees.
These were rocket boots!
“This is great!” Lupe cheered.
She flew over the park.

Lupe saw a man on a bike.
He was fast.
She was faster!

“Help! My ball is stuck!” a boy said.
He pointed at a tall tree.

Lupe flew over and got the ball.
She gave it to the boy.

Lupe saw a woman crying. 9
“I lost my dog,” the woman said.

“No problem,” said Lupe.
She flew around the park.
She found the dog.
She gave it to the woman.

Lupe was tired.
She landed to rest.
A big robot came over.
He had angry red eyes, big metal
feet, and no shoes.
He pinched his scary metal claws.

“Uh-oh,” Lupe said.
She was scared and flew away.
The robot chased Lupe around
the park.

Then the rocket boots began
to beep.
A “low power” light came on.
Lupe fell from the sky into a pile
of leaves.
The big robot stood over her.

“I’m sorry,” Lupe said.
“I was just having so much fun!”
She took off the rocket boots.
The robot put them on.
