The Gift
Dana Aboushousha
My dad,Tawfik,is a really busy person. He saves a lot of
money for good causes. One day,my dad thought about
me always helping him with what he needs. So,now he
knows what he will do for Eid, a special gift for me!
On July 17th, Eid,I was so excited that Ramadan was over
so I can eat whenever I want instead
of waiting until sunset (6:35). It was
the last (not really the last) day with
my friends Ranya and Leith. When I
went out with them,Ranya was sad because she was the
only one who didn’t leave for Eid break.Curiously, I saw
Leith holding a bag full of tiny hand grenades.
“The grenades are for the Eid celebration.” he
explained. So,he gave Ranya and I some so that we can
throw them to make them pop on the floor. We had so
much fun, even when Ranya told me to try throw one at the
neighbors.Soon,it was time for everyone to go
home. Then,as soon as I went inside my house,my
stomach began to rumble so loud it sounded like there
was a bear was inside my
stomach.So,I made a
sandwich,went up stairs,and
watched my favorite tv
show,Lolirock.
Then,my dad said,”Dana,I have a surprise for you!”So,I
zoomed to his room with excitement, curious to know what
he got me.When I reached there,I was so excited for the
surprise!
”What did you get me?”I said in a confident way.Soon,he
showed me a black box with a picture of
a camera on it.I knew that my dad got
me a camera!”Dana,you’ve shown me that you’re
responsible and mature enough to get your own camera,
just like your sister!” he said. Fireworks lit up the sky as I
hugged my dad to thank him for the gift!
