Types of Holiday Home Available at Skiddaw View... We offer two main types of holiday home – Static Holiday Caravans and Holiday Lodges, find out more about each of these different holiday homes: Holiday Static Ca Holiday Static Caravans Our holiday static caravans offer a fantastic level of comfort, and the layout of the park provides a unique feel from each and every pitch. The holiday static caravans provide you with a 9-month holiday season (March to December) so you can enjoy the splendour of the Lakes in the Spring, Summer and Autumn. All our brand-new holiday homes come with a 20-year licence agreement.
Holiday Lodges Our holiday lodges afford all the benefits afforded by the Static Caravans, the main difference being that our lodges all offer a full 12-month holiday season, with no closed period. This means that as standard all our holiday lodges are built to residential specification to ensure you are warm and cosy all season. In addition, our new “Bassenthwaite Heights” and “Skiddaw Heights” lodge developments benefit from piped gas, trace heated water pipes and are designed and planned for every eventuality. Generally, lodges will offer a higher level of specification and thus also tend to be larger in size than our static caravans, our lodges are 13ft wide (as a minimum) but our Skiddaw Heights development is exclusive for 'twin unit' lodges which are up to 22ft wide, giving you even more space! Wildlife & Conservation We know people visit the Lakes to enjoy the natural environment, as a result we take steps to minimise the long-term impact of our operations to sustain and improve our natural surroundings without imposing on your holiday experience. Our conservation efforts have been recognised by holding a David Bellamy Conservation - Gold Award since 2006. The park benefits from a wealth of wildlife including rabbits, barn and tawny owls, hedgehogs and a range of birds. We have even had sightings of red squirrels around the park. We appreciate all wildlife, and we even dedicate areas of the park to be untouched: "reserved for nature" as well as taking part in no mow - leaving patches of the grass areas to go wild. In addition, our three ponds are a haven for the aquatic wildlife.
