From the Mouth of the Trail

As the school year comes to an end, I know you will take a moment to reflect on the amazing growth your child has
experienced over the course of one year. I am sure those memories include academic challenges and achievements,
both high and lower points as our children navigate their social life, and proud moments as we watched our children
excel in their extracurricular passions.
As a mom of two daughters, I am in awe of the growth and development that occurred over just 10 months. It is
truly amazing how quickly children grow, develop and change. As parents, we look at each experience as an
opportunity to enhance our children’s future. The Summer Trails experience is one of those opportuniFes; filled with
personal growth, life skill development and life lessons.
I recently had the privilege to sit down and catch up with Sarah (Marbach) Johnson and she took the Fme to reflect
on what Summer Trails means to her. Sarah aMended Summer Trails from 1994 thru 2011. Yes, 17 years! She began
as a Girls1, conFnued thru the Leader in Training program, and spent several summers as a Group Counselor, and
then Lifeguard. These are her words…

Henry Johnson “Summer Trails was my home for 20 years. The friendships I made and the skills I learned
Future Camper carried me through my forma=ve years and beyond. I learned to swim at Summer Trails. I
Summer 2023 learned to row a boat, play chess, climb a wall, and create a lanyard. Beyond that, I learned
=me management, pa=ence, and honed my leadership skills. The staff is amazing, caring,
qualified, and full of “camp lifers.” The staff created an environment where I could be my best
self and build self-confidence. I cannot wait to send my own children to Summer Trails to
watch them grow and thrive during their summers like I was fortunate enough to do.”

We can’t wait to have her son Henry join us in 2023! This is only one example of the
wonderful feedback we receive from our families that fill my heart with warm fuzzies. I
am looking forward to having your child at Summer Trails this summer and am
confident that in September you too will sit back and reflect with pride at the amazing
posiFve growth and development that your child experienced here too.
Thank you for choosing Summer Trails,

From the Dugout

Are you ready to play ball? We sure are! The 2019 Baseball Season at Summer Trails is going to be unbeatable.

Baseball Camp is right around the corner and we are focused on player development and character education. We
not only want to grow the best baseball player but we want you to leave daily feeling good about yourself. Summer
Trails Baseball Camp is a great place to learn critical skills while having fun for campers from novice to advanced
ability.

We are happy to announce this summer's MVP lineup. Summer Trails Baseball Camp is welcoming back current
local Minor League players as well as former Major League Ball Players: Frank Catalanotto (New York Mets),
Matt Merullo (Minnesota Twins) and of course John Doherty (Detroit Tiger). Each visit will include dynamic
coaching, meet and greet with autograph session.

As we look towards the summer we are excited that Summer Trails Baseball Campers will head to both
Palisades Credit Union Park on August 6th to watch the Rockland Boulders and to Dutchess Stadium to

watch a Renegades Game on Monday, July 24th. Tickets are limited and a permission slip is required for
attendance. If you are currently enrolled for this day please complete the permission slip that can be found on our

website (www.summertrailsdaycamp.com/forms.asp) If you are not currently enrolled for this day and would like to
attend, contact the office to be added to our waitlist.

As a friendly reminder, it is imperative that campers come to camp with a baseball cap, sneakers, baseball glove and
protective cup. Please help keep our ball players safe by sending these items daily. If you choose to bring a bat from

home, it must be carried in a bat bag at all times. Additionally, please remember
sneakers on inclement weather days.

I am so very excited to be working with your kids again this summer and wish
everyone the best during their school baseball season this spring. As always, we are
partners in communication. Please feel free to call the camp office and when we
come off the fields we are happy to connect with you. Additionally, check the
website regularly for pictures and updates and check your inbox daily for our emailed
skill and drill of the day.

The Summer Trails Rookies Baseball Program is an opportunity for our
Rookies entering 1st and 2nd graders to experience Baseball Camp.  Campers

Baseball will have the chance to head to the baseball fields during the last period

of the day for baseball skill instruction, drills and competitions.  This

program is designed to introduce our young campers to the game of baseball

and ensure they have fun while working on their organized sports skills. For
