Summer Trails is the only day camp in Westchester County that
PLAYS BASEBALL and provides the opportunity to be coached
by current and retired Major League Baseball professionals.

Summer Trails is the only day camp where the facts
demonstrate that the STAFF ARE MATURE, SUPERB & HOME
GROWN--50% of the staff are over 21 years old AND 1/3 of our
staff were once Summer Trails Campers.

Summer Trails is the only day camp in Northern Westchester
with 20 PRIVATE SECURE ACRES including a natural pond,
sports fields and courts, crafts areas and 2 heated swimming
pools.

Pre-School Program (entering PreK and K)

Our half day or full day preschool program is for campers in Preschool and Kindergarten. We place
emphasis on social and physical growth as well as development of each young camper through the
use of recognized early childhood educational techniques. We create a unique nurturing feeling in
this age group through a combination of a high camper to staff ratio and carefully selected mature
staff. Campers are exposed to the wide variety of programs Summer Trails offers in a
developmentally appropriate manner.

Traditional Camp Program (entering 1st - 8th grade)

For campers in grades 1-8 who are seeking a well-rounded camp experience. The daily schedule
provides for balance in swimming, athletics, creative arts, nature, and good old fashioned fun
activities. Summer Trails encourages participation and creates an environment in which new
passions are awakened and tried and true favorites are enhanced. In addition to over 60 different
activities, we have an exciting annual special event calendar.

Baseball Camp Program (entering 3rd - 8th grade)

This program is designed to provide individualized skill progression, taught by mature
experienced coaches who assist each camper in reaching his/her full baseball potential. We
continue to create new opportunities for our campers to engage in sport, have fun with friends,
expand their limits, learn about sportsmanship, and experience camp to its fullest. Our primary
goal is to help each camper achieve their fullest potential by learning correct techniques from
experienced coaches who know how to make the game fun.

Leadership in Training Program (entering 9th grade)

Summer Trails offers a Leadership in Training Program (LIT) to campers in 9th grade who have
previously been Summer Trails campers. This program has 3 focal points: 1. Leadership
training 2. Working hands on assisting with a camper group 3. The opportunity to play. This
program is specifically designed to provide an enriching leadership opportunity while balancing
good old camp fun with a chance to demonstrate responsibility.

Intern Program (entering 10th grade)


The Summer Trails Internship Program is an opportunity for campers entering 10th grade to
put into practice and grow the leadership skills they were exposed to as an LIT the previous
summer. The Intern Program will act as a bridge between being an LIT and the demands of
being an Assistant Camp Counselor or Baseball Coach.  As interns they will earn 20 hours
per week community service credits, contribute to an internship project, have the opportunity
to earn Red Cross certifications, and participate in a once a week off site exciting excursion. 
Excursions will be a balance of educational or recreation opportunities (such as a trip to the
water park or a local hike) as well community service partnerships (such as organizing
goods at a food bank or spending quality time with dogs at an animal shelter).

Staff Opportunities (entering 11th grade - adult)

You never have to leave Summer Trails! Once you graduate from the Intern Program, entering
11th graders have the opportunity to apply to be a counselor, coach, lifeguard or specialist with all
the skills and experience necessary to make a huge impact on campers. Summer Trails staff
make a difference. Counselors impact campers, and campers impact counselors. Everyone leaves
with an experience of an amazing summer that they will never forget.
