The City Commission consists of seven (7) electors: the Mayor, four District
Commissioners and two At-Large Commissioners. Each member serves a four-year term. MISSION
The City of Lakeland has three new City Commissioners and a new Mayor that will take
office this month after participating in the recent City-wide election process. Please A community

City Commission officially take office January 2, 2018 after participating in a swearing in to achieve
ceremony at the R.P. Funding Center. an exceptional
quality of life.
Lakeland City Commissioners encourage residents to continue to play an active role
by staying informed and engaged in local government. City Commission meetings allow VALUES
citizens to see their government at work and to participate in the process. Regular
meetings are generally held at Lakeland City Hall on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each Social Responsibility
month at 9:00 a.m. An agenda study meeting is held on the Friday before a regular Leadership • Integrity
meeting in the Commission conference room at 8:30 a.m. Meeting agendas are available Commitment to Excellence
online at www.lakelandgov.net. All regular meetings are broadcast live on the Lakeland Empowered Workforce
Government Network that can be viewed on channel 643 (Spectrum) and channel 43

the Polk County Solid Waste Division is sponsoring a FREE Household END-OF-LIFE ELECTRONICS ACCEPTED
Hazardous Waste and End-Of-Life Electronics Collection Event.
This Mobile Collection Event is intended to make it easier for our Computers, monitors, keyboards, terminals, televisions, stereos,
community to safely dispose of their unwanted hazardous waste and printers, fax machines, video game consoles, wireless devices, etc.
