WARM- UP
Run two laps around the gym

GORILLA MAN GUN
Objective: To be the last person standing
Rules: This is just like “Paper, Rock, Scissors”, except the kids will act out the
“gorilla” (both hands in the air and a big growl), man (arms folded with one hand on
the side of the chin/jaw with a sophisticated look), gun (however you choose to
model holding a gun). Once each person in the group has a partner, have them get
back to back and teach them the rules in song form: “The gorilla beats the man, and
the man beats the gun. The gun beats the gorilla, if you tie you die.” and then count
all together “1, 2, 3!”That’s when each back to back partners turns around as a
“gorilla, man, or a gun”. Then match up the winners and repeat until you get the
final group and have a prize for the winner.

Objective: Be the first team to collect 5
bean bags in your hoop.
Rules: Divide the participants into groups
of 3-5 people, give each team a hula hoop
and 5 bean bags. When the leader says go
the first person from each group will hop
and go get a bean bag from another
team’s hula hoop. In relay style, the next
person in line will go when their team
member comes back. Continue the relay
until one team has 5 bean bags in their
hoop.

BEANBAG SLIDE TAG

other people's feet.
Rules: Spread out beanbags in the playing
area. Have the players try to slide the
beanbags at other peoples feet. If your
foot is tagged, you must hop around on
one leg. If your remaining foot is tagged
you sit down and wait until the person
who tagged you is tagged.

SHOE RELAY
Objective: To have all your teammates complete the race
before the other teams.
Rules: Each participant will take off one of their shoes and
put them in a pile. The teams will line up single file and will
start the relay challenge on the signal from the leader. Each
player must hop, skip, or jump to the pile of shoes, put
theirs back on and head back to the line. The team to have
all of their payers with both shoes back on first wins.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS Objective: For players to listen to the
different commands and do the

Rules: Have players spread out around the
gym. The leader then announces various
commands for children to follow.
Commands are based on a traffic light and
are as follows: - "Red Light", players should
stop - "Yellow Light", players should run on
the spot - "Green Light" – players should run
around the gym - "Car Pool", players should
run in a group of two (link arms) - "Speed
Bump" - hop around

FRUIT BASKET UPSET

find a spot when your fruit is called out. If you do,
you will become the "caller" for the next round.
Rules: This game is similar to musical chairs. To
start, everyone stands in a circle with one person
in the middle. Each person gets to choose to be
one of 3 fruits (the 3 fruits are collectively chosen
by the group). The person in the middle calls out
one of these 3 fruits. The people who have
identified as that fruit have to move to a different
spot in the circle that has just opened up
(including the person in the middle who called
out the fruit). The last person to find a spot
becomes the caller and calls a new fruit next
round.

Equipment: Hula Hoops
OVER UNDER
Objective: Be the fastest person to
weave the ball over and under each
person without dropping the ball.
Rules: Everyone lines up behind each
other. Each person will put the pall
under their legs and for the next
person to grab and drop above their
head. Whoever drops the ball will be
out and the game will restart.

CATERPILLAR RACE
Objective: To race another caterpillar
team to the finish line.
Rules: Divide the class into four teams
and the teams must sit down in a line with
their knees bent and keep a hold of the
ankles of the person behind them. Once
the whistle is blown, the teams must
scoot along, without letting go of the
ankles of the person behind them,
scooting and inching to the finish line.

OCTOPUS Objective: To run across the court without
turning into seaweed by the octopus.

Rules: Student with the closet birthday will
become the octopus and will stand in the middle
of the court. The student will yell “Octopus” and
the other students must run across the court
without being touched by the octopus tentacles
(2 noodles) . If touched, that student will become
the seaweed and must sit on the line and try and
touch other players as they run by. If touched,
they will be seaweed with 1 noodle also. Last
person standing wins.

ULTIMATE CHICKEN
Objective: To pass the chicken to your
teammates and move to the other teams end
zone to score a point.
Rules: Divide the group into two teams, each
team on either side of the playing surface. To
start the game have one team throw the chicken
across the playing surface towards the other
team. The receiving team will then pass the
chicken around trying to move towards the other
teams end zone. If the chicken hits the ground or
is intercepted then other defending team gets
possession of the chicken. Players may not run
with the chicken, the only way to advance the
chicken is to throw it to a teammate.

COPS AND RAIDERS

bean bags without getting caught.
Rules: The cops and robbers will be placed
at their bases. The robbers have to “steal”
the cops beanbags. If the robber gets the
beanbag, than he/she has to run and place
them at their home base. If the robber is
touched then they have to sit down where
they were caught. Only way to win is if the
robbers put all the bean bags into their
home base or the cops tagged all the
robbers.
