Kemudian datanglah Petrus dan berkata Then Peter came up and said to Him,
kepada Yesus : "Tuhan, sampai berapa "Lord, how often will my brother sin
kali aku harus mengampuni Saudaraku against me, and I forgive him? As
jika ia berbuat dosa terhadap aku ? many as seven times? "

Yesus berkata kepadanya : "Bukan! Aku Jesus said to him, "I DO NOT SAY
berkata kepadamu : Bukan sampai tujuh to you seven times, but seventy-
kali, melainkan sampai tujuh puluh kali seven times
tujuh kali."

CATCH Matthew 18 consists 35 verses, devided into 5 main points.
Lord Jesus teaches us willing to forgive our brothers/sister
CLEAR OVERVIEW seventy times seven times which means that the forgiveness is
not limited.

AUTHOR/AUDIENCE Written by Matthew. Matthew was a tax collector who became
one of the 12 disciples of Jesus. In Irish, Matthew means Bear.

He had papers and ink, he was a bookkeeper and financial
accountant. In a time when writing, parchment paper, and ink
were scarce commodities,

CATCH This parable tells of sin, forgiveness, and love. Jesus told this parable
to answer Peter's question in verse 21
CONTEXT

HISTORY Written by Matthew in Greek circa 60-65 AD when he was in Palestine
or Antioch in Syria. He is an eye witness to the life of Jesus. This
Gospel assumed already completed in the early 2nd century AD.

Jesus Christ taught His disciples the principles that would help them
lead His Church after His Ascension to Heaven. He prepared them,
but they didn't realize it. The Lord also gave the parable of the
unmerciful servant in response to Peter's question about forgiveness.

"Maaf" in KBBI means the release of someone from

Forgiveness is a condition where we stop telling ourselves over

what has happened and are not affected by the past.
