DAV Senior Secondary Model School,
Sec8, Panchkula
Radiance: 2021-22
A small leak can make a huge ship sink!
A miniscule virus can disrupt the education of millions of students!
But, just as the invisible virus threatened life,
the omnipotent God promised a new lease of life!
God asked, “Do smooth seas make good sailors?”
We answered, “No, they don't.”
God asked again, “Do rough and choppy seas make good sailors?”
We thought and answered, “Yes, they do.”
And, then there was no looking back. We all worked hard.
Result, the school chronicle Radiance never lost its radiance!

Dear Students,
The past two years have not been easy ones. The pandemic induced nation wide
lockdown along with the global slow down posed new threats, dilemmas as well
as challenges. But, now as the crisis seems to have ebbed, I am left with a deep
sense of gratitude
Gratitude towards God who said, “Believe in yourself. I am always there. Go ahead,”.
Our mentors who said, “We believe in you. We are always there. Go ahead.”
The members of the staff who said, “Let us draft a road map and go ahead.”
The parents of our students who said, “We are together in it. Let us go ahead.”
And, our dear students, all of you who simply said, “Where do we have to go sir?” and that
one question reflected your faith in us, the faith that gave us the courage to go digital and do
the best for you.
We thank all of you for keeping the digital classroom as alive as the conventional one. We
thank all of you for maintaining the bond in spite of the technical glitches. In fact, we thank
you for being what you are – the best who deserve the best.
Warm wishes & regards

Corona, a blessing in disguise A tiny virus has created a pandemic,
Due to which the whole world is in panic.Though I know corona will
go,But this will happen very slow.Humanity is placing too much pressure
on the nature. This will be critical for the coming future.Gap in the ozone
layer is almost filled,As all human activities are stilled. The atmosphere is
healingAnd the realms of earth are more appealing.
Excerpts from the book for our dear students to whom we stand committed.
Dr.(Mrs. Nisha Peshin , the author True purpose of education is to raise the child’s bar in its problem solving ability and
application of knowledge in innovative ways.”
“Proficiency in a language comes naturally by listening and speaking spontaneously in
that language.”
Learning topics of science can’t be achieved by remembering spellings of a few words
here and there. That, at best adds to the vocabulary bank, but not to the knowledge of
science.”
Children are sharp learners and learn more from their role models in their social
environment, like the parents, teachers and peer group.”
“There is a reason for the child to get accustomed to listen to a ‘No’ at times. As they
grow into adults and face the real world, they will face situations when they may not
have their way and have to listen to a No.”
Child’s own perspective and creative responses are to be encouraged and valued in
classrooms.”
Excerpts from the book for the parents with whom we have a shared commitment
The true purpose of education is to raise the child—s bar in its problem-solving
ability and application of knowledge in innovative ways. To this end, education is
best imparted by training the child to ask questions and think of answers.
We must realize that the two main players in the school system, i.e. the
management and the parents, share a common goal, which is the overall
development of the child and its long-term good. Therefore, the two are partners in
bringing up the child and in no way are adversarial vis-à-vis each other.
The child does not imbibe the value system from its teachers and friends on the
school precincts alone. Strong vibes come from home as well, mainly from the
parents, and the society at large. It is the duty of each one of us, including the
parents, to first practice the right kind of behavior and conduct ourselves, and
then expect the same value system for our children to imbibe.
A Teacher's Offering
A small hand held mine in a gentle though firm hold,
and said-help me script a success story yet untold!
A pair of trusting eyes looked into mine,
and said-make me the one who is the world's pride!
I, a teacher embarked on a journey, where
his world was my world,
my one word opened his thousands of worlds!
Time moved on……
The gentle hold grew firm and strong,
he learnt to decipher right from wrong,
he stood tall and proud in a throng.
He grew humble, kind and benign,
my happiness broke all confines!
After all, he was my student –
a gift to a teacher from the power divine, Team DAV-8, Pkl.
and what I had made of him,
was my offering to that power divine!
