Remote Access -
(MFA)
Using Microsoft Authenticator
Trust
As part of the on going improvements of ICT Security Infrastructure we
are introducing a new Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) system
Those who currently have VPN and Citrix remote access will be using the
current MFA app named 'SecurEnvoy'.
This is being replaced with the 'Microsoft Authenticator' app which will soon
be required to remotely access other UHCW systems too, not just
VPN. These apps provide essential security verification to protect your
identity and the systems you access.
MFA is more secure than just a password because it relies on 2 forms of
authentication:
Something you know, like your password AND something you have, like
a phone or another device that you carry.
Using MFA helps stop malicious hackers from pretending to be you. If your
account credentials are compromised, it's unlikely a hacker will have your
device too.

I'm having problems signing in on my mobile device while traveling
You might find it more difficult to use a mobile device-related verification method, like a text messaging, while
you're in an international location. It's also possible that your mobile device can cause you to incur roaming
charges. For this situation, we recommend you use the Microsoft Authenticator app, with the option to connect
to a Wi-Fi hot spot. For more information about how to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile
device, see the Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app article.
