We appreciate how overwhelming planning a wedding can be and at Copdock Hall, we
want you to enjoy the day exactly the way you’d planned.

We’ve created the blank canvas - a stunning historical building with all mod cons, but it’s
waiting for you to put on the finishing touches.

Each wedding is individual and with the hire of the venue lasting 48 hours, you really have
time to make it your own. Of course, we can help along the way with an emphasis on fun, so

that you, your family and friends can share a day to remember.

Weddings...

• On the big day you will have access to the barn at least 24 hours before the event when
you can personalise the venue with flowers, lighting, special effects and seating
plans. On weekend weddings the hire will run from midday Friday to midday Sunday.

• There is a dedicated bridal room at your disposal for the whole day.

• We have three caterers for you to choose from and recommendations for
photographers, florists, DJs, cake suppliers, make-up artists and hairdressers which have
been personally selected by us.

• You are welcome to bring in your own wine for the wedding breakfast with no
corkage charge. We supply a bar in the evening which will charge local pub prices,
with no extra costs for staffing.

• There is a wide range of three and four-star accommodation within four miles of the
venue as well as easy road and rail networks to London, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.

• We are on hand to offer advice and answer questions.

Civil ceremonies

Copdock Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies. For smaller, intimate ceremonies, the Walsingham
room is available which can accommodate up to 30 people. Copdock Hall can accomodate anything
from small groups to around 300 for larger ceremonies.

The venue hire price includes provision for the civil ceremony but fees are payable to the Registrar
direct for their services - currently between £450 to £595 depending on day/time. For more infor-

Religious ceremonies

Copdock Hall is situated next to the parish church of St Peter’s, a beautiful 15th century building
perched on the village’s highest point. It couldn’t be a shorter walk to the reception at Copdock Hall
via a churchyard gate and across a grassy field next to our very own vineyard.

Frequently Asked Questions...

Do you charge corkage?
No. You are welcome to supply your own wine with no corkage charge during the wedding break-
fast or if you prefer, we can source this for you but it must be cleared away after the meal. We do
supply a cash bar in the evening for your guests.
Do you have a choice of caterers and a list of preferred suppliers?
Yes. We work with three caterers (see next page) and have a number of personally selected suppliers
we can recommend and who know the venue. We do not receive commission from suppliers.
When do I have access to the venue?
We want you to have enough time to create the day you want so weekend hire of Copdock Hall
runs from midday Friday until midday Sunday (48 hours).
Do you offer parking?
Yes. We have parking and guests are able to leave cars overnight although we would encourage
them to travel together or share taxis/coaches. We have a Green Travel Plan which outlines the
various options available. Cars must be collected by Sunday midday for weekend weddings and
midday on the day following the wedding for mid-week events.

What is included in the hire?
The hire of Copdock Hall includes exclusive use of the venue the
day before and the day of your wedding. Tables and chairs for
120 guests are included, use of a private bridal room, car parking,
underfloor heating, purpose-built modern toilets, area for outside
caterers, a staffed cash bar in the evening, DMX cabling for light
effects, in-house music and PA system with three zones, screens to
create different settings, an easel for seating plans and wifi.
Our grounds include a terrace for reception drinks, contained
sprawling lawns with plenty of space for guests and a safe option
for children and a vineyard for photos, next to the 15th century
parish church.

Can you get married at Copdock Hall?
Yes. We have a wedding licence for civil ceremonies in the Walsingham Room or Copdock Hall barn
itself. Registrars charge for conducting the service which is a separate fee paid to Suffolk County
Council, see Weddings section. Just across the field is our local parish church of St Peter’s where you can
enquire about a Christian service.
How many guests can the venue hold?
Copdock Hall is perfect for intimate weddings but can also accommodate up to 200 seated guests for
the wedding breakfast and more in an informal evening setting. It is a very versatile space and can be
adapted to suit most sizes.
Are we allowed to add special effects to the barn?
Within reason but please check with us first. We encourage you to bring in decorations and personal
effects. We also have cabling for uplighters to flood the walls and fairy lights on some of the beams.
Do you offer a wedding planner service?
Yes. In addition to hiring Copdock Hall, we are able to offer a personalised service where we can liaise
with you, your families and suppliers to help create the perfect wedding day.
What are the operating hours of Copdock Hall?
08:00 - 23:00 Monday to Thursday,
09:00 - 22.30 Sundays and Bank Holidays,
08:00 - 23:30 Fridays and 08:00 - 00:00 Saturdays. Amplified music must stop at 23.30

What about photos?

You will have free rein to have pictures taken in and around the barn including the vineyard, adjacent
grass field and next to the parish church.

Directions from the A12 - London and the South/ the North

Take the exit marked Copdock/Belstead. This is just after the exit to Capel St Mary and a garage on your
left if coming from south(Colchester direction) and the first slip road if coming north from Ipswich/A14.
Follow the road around the bend and up the hill. It forms a dual carriageway.

You will pass the Cameo hotel on your left and a cricket pitch on your right. Take the next turning to the
right which will be signposted Belstead. This is Church Lane/Pound Lane. Copdock Hall is the third turn-
ing on the left, just before the road bends to the right.

Beware!
Some older Sat Navs may try to take you to Sproughton using our postcode or

may have our road registered as Pound Lane rather than Church Lane.
