'Well Done Iders'

Mr. Iders Marsh Sr., 90, a ten-year resident of
Glendale, California’s Windsor Health Center died
May 27, 2021 after decades of battling a
degenerative neurological disease —Atrophy of
the Cerebellum.
 
He was born March 10, 1931, the fth oldest of 14
children to the late William, Sr., and Aurelia Marsh.
He married the late Willie Bessie Williams- Marsh
on December 27th, 1951 and remained married for
68 years until her passing in 2019.
 
Iders Sr. was born in Pine Mt. Georgia and
Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army prior to
moving with his wife Bessie to Buffalo New York as
part of the great African-American migration from
the farms of the south to the cities of the north in
search of economic opportunity. There, he gained
employment with The Chevrolet Motor Division of
General Motors and became a skilled electrician,
later promoted to Supervisory Management. Iders
was an avid Single Engine Airplane Pilot, once
completing a solo ight from Buffalo to his
birthplace city in Georgia. Iders also loved
gardening, hunting and bowling. After nearly 30
years of employment he accepted Chevrolet’s offer
for early Retirement in 1983. In 2010 Iders and
Bessie moved to California and spent their
remaining years close to immediate family.  
 
Iders is survived by a daughter; Roberta, two sons;
Iders Jr. and Karl, Grandchildren; Marcus Clark,
Jennifer Lewis, James Brandon Lewis, Aja T. Marsh,
Everson Iders Marsh, Jordyn D. Marsh and Sheridan
N. Marsh, Great Grandchildren; Malik Clark ,
Savannah Clark, Kensington Clark & Marcus W.
Clark, Carter Sotoye and Abel O. Marsh; Siblings;
William H., Lillian, Mary Frances, Gloria, Theron,
Emma, Vivian, Eddie Marsh and a multitude of in-
laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
