PROFILE

NAME: Nor Humairaq Musa
STUDENT ID: 012019071349

AGE: 22
DATE OF BIRTH: 05/07/1999
MOTTO: Be the change that you
want to see in this world!

PRINCIPLE IN TEACHING

Firstly, I believe that an educator
should not focus only on the

teaching aspect as they should be
able to have a good rapport and
relationship with students. As a
future educator, I would make sure
that I gained their trust and they are

comfortable with me.

Next, I would provide the best
environment for my students by
incorporating interactive activities
and uses all the online tools in my
lessons as this could motivate them

to learn English.

OVERALL REFLECTION

I find this subject were very
interesting as Madam Nirmala
always makes a good introduction
in every lesson. Next, the task given
were mostly group mode which
helps us in communication with
each other in the breakout group

provided.

I always look forward to our
physical classes as they provide a
better environment for me because
I can easily communicate with the
lecturer if I had any doubts and the

explanation given are clearer.

WEEK 1

We were introduced to the
purpose of learning this subject
and the learning outcomes that
we are going to gain throughout

the semester. A google
classroom code was given to us
so that we can enroll ourselves to
access all the lecture notes and
tasks given by Madam Nirmala.
we also started our first chapter

of the subject which is the
definition of Teaching and

Microteaching

WEEK 1

WEEK 2

In the second week, we continue
our lesson on this subject by
entering chapter 2 which was

Teaching and Learning Objectives.
Madam Nirmala explained that the

learning objectives should be
based on Bloom's Taxonomy and
SMART and she also give us plenty

of examples so that we have a
better understanding of this
chapter. I also learned that this
chapter is one of the most
important chapters for this

subject.

WEEK 2

WEEK 3

On the third week, we learn
about set induction. Madam
Nirmala told us that set induction
is very important as it would
affect the rest of our teaching
and learning process. As an
educator, we should be able to
grab the student's attention and
interest at the beginning of the
lesson to tell our students that
this would be an interesting
lesson for them. I learned that it
is crucial for us to choose a good
material for the lesson as it could
help to achieve our learning

objective.

WEEK 3

WEEK 4

In this week, we proceed with the
next chapter which is

Questioning Technique. There
were 10 characteristics of good

and effective questioning
techniques that we can use in
our lesson in the future. This
topic is really helpful for me as it

can help me to develop
interesting questions for my
students and keep track of my

student's understanding
throughout the lesson.

WEEK 4

WEEK 5

Presentation Week!!

This whole week was allocated for
Project 1 presentation.

I represented my group to explain
our chosen online teaching tool. My
team and I choose to use Gathertown
platform as it offers more features

than Zoom application.
From this presentation, I discover

that there were tons of exciting
online platforms that we can use for

our lesson to make it more
interesting.

WEEK 5

WEEK 6

Madam Nirmala continues the
lesson by teaching us the new
chapter which is Reinforcement.

There were two types of
reinforcement which are positive

and negative reinforcement.
Both of these reinforcements
have their own pros and cons
that we need to understand.
From this chapter, I managed to
learn how to respond to my

student's actions in the
classroom later.

WEEK 6

WEEK 7

This week's classes were the first
week of physical classes after

months of online classes. On that
week, Madam Nirmala taught
about a new topic which was
Stimulus Varian. In this topic, I
learn how I can apply this

method during my teaching and
learning process in the future as I

need to ensure the classroom
environment are productive and

exciting for my students.

WEEK 7

WEEK 8

Presentation Time!!
This week is the submission and
presentation week of Project 1
task B. For this project, we were

required to create a blog that
contains exercises for our

students which they can do at
their respective places as the
teacher can check the progress

online.

WEEK 8

WEEK 9

WEEK 10

In the tenth week, we learn about
teaching aids where teachers can

use during the teaching and
learning process. Madam

Nirmala has shown us plenty of
examples of teaching aids that
can be used to conduct online
classes as we are in the midst of

Covid-19.

WEEK 10

WEEK 11

In the eleventh week, we proceed
with the next topic which was
about the closure stage of
teaching. In this topic, I learned
that it is crucial for us to have a

proper closure for our lesson as
it will reflect the student's

understanding of the lesson, and
we are also able to see if our

learning objectives are achieved
or not.

WEEK 11

WEEK 12

For this week's class, madam has
assigned us to review a few

movies such as Freedom Writers,
Harry Potter, and Dead Poet's
Society. We have to identify the

teaching aids used in the movies.
All answers are posted on the
Padlet link given.

WEEK 12

WEEK 13

This week, I learn about the use
of whiteboard in the classroom.

While learning this topic, I
discovered that there were
techniques on how to write on
the whiteboard with proper
handwriting, which way should
we stand as we should be able to
see our students while writing on

the whiteboard. Most
importantly, I learn about the

suitable colours of the
whiteboard markers that I should

use to write.

WEEK 13

PROJECT 1

As for task A, we were required
to choose one online teaching
tool that can be used for online
classes. My teammates and I
decided to choose Gathertown as
our online teaching tool. We
prepared 5 activities that can be
done using the chosen platform.

Then, we are needed to
demonstrate one of them by
doing a 10 minutes recording
session to explain the reason and
benefits of my we choose to use

that platform.

Task A

As for task B, we were instructed
to create a blog for teaching and

learning ESL. There were 10
activities created by us and it has

been posted on the blog. We
chose Edublog as our desired site
and named our blog, The English
Hub. by doing this task, I had the
opportunity to improve myself in

terms of technology and learn
how to integrate it into the
education field.

Task B

PROJECT 2

As for project 2, it is an individual
task and we were required to do
mock teaching as it could really
help to prepare us for the future.
This task consists of four stages

which were set induction,
presentation, practice, and
closure. Each week, we have to
submit our lesson plan and the
mock teaching recording on the
link provided by the lecturer. I
choose to conduct mock teaching
focusing on Hobby as my topic
and adjectives as my language

skills.

To complete this task, I have
used various types of teaching
aids such as Canva, YouTube, and
pictures from various sites. I also

use positive and negative
reinforcement in my mock
teaching. Not to mention, I have
constructed numerous questions

according to the 10
characteristics of good
questioning techniques that I

have learned.
In conclusion, by completing this
task, I was able to train myself on

how to properly teach and
manage my students.

Teaching is the
profession that teaches

all the other
professions!!
