EDITOR’S NOTE Inyatsi Construction Group Holdings

Let’s Construct a Great Year Together!

Greetings much-valued readers, colleagues and
stakeholders. It feels so good to be back at work. We are
grateful to have you all back on the grind into 2020 and this
new decade.

As the leaders in construction, we are looking forward to build
a great year together with you yet again. Human resource is
our greatest asset and we are pleased that you all had a safe holiday season. We hope
you are all refreshed and recharged for the year ahead. It’s now time to turn that potential
energy, we had stored over the holidays, into kinetic and produce some wonderful work!

Renowned management guru Stephen Covey who wrote the Seven Habits of Highly
Effective People says in all we do we must, “begin with the end in mind.” Which means the
glory and satisfaction of completing any work task or duty should self-motivate us every
minute and hour this year.
We have great expectations for a great year ahead in which we will continue to build on
our rich history of excellence and quality.

This year, in the zodiac sign world, is predicted to be one of great success. This means
it is anticipated that that success will flourish in the workplace, yielding benefits of all
kinds for us as well as our stakeholders. Also experts feel this is the year that clever skills,
quick-thinking, and optimism will drive you forward. So let’s stay positive because positivity
attracts positive results always.

For us to yield the full harvest of this year we also need to continue to use our values of
Quality, Control and Discipline as our guiding mantras to ensure that we deliver the best on
each assignment. Whenever we work to our best whether in the office or in the fields, the
sum is a successful project and that translates to growth for us all.

The word TEAM when used as an acronym means that Together Everyone Achieves More.
So let us continue to work well together.

In this newsletter issue we share some of the highlights of the past year so it can inspire us
to build on the successes of these projects and ventures for this year.
Let us construct a great year together!

Newsletter March 2020 CEO‘S ADDRESS

To a Prosperous and Fruitful 2020!

A warm welcome to the beginning of the year and to the first
edition of our magazine.

Last year we implemented a turn around strategy and set a
number of goals for our teams to in order to achieve this. I
am pleased to report that we achieved all the targeted goals
so well done to everyone.

This year our strategy is to grow our balance sheet and to secure our work pipeline. With this
in mind one of our main goals for this year is to secure contracts. We have started the year
on a very good note with NCC securing two contracts in Mozambique. We are currently
pursuing a number of other potential projects in the Palma region and are optimistic that
the construction roll out in Palma will happen this year.

At the end of last year, we successfully renegotiated the restart of the Lot 2 contract, and
we are confident that we will be able to sign the full contract this month.

At Inyatsi we pride ourselves with our ability to react to change. This ability is vital to ensure
our survival. Last year we experienced a number of changes within the organization and
industry one of which was the effects of climate change. We had a record number of
weather-related damage claims. As an organization, we need to have to look at a better
way of securing our sites, because insurance companies will not continue to entertain
large claims due to floods.

We also have to take into consideration market changes. We need to consider the types
of projects and clients we secure, and the way we procure projects. We need to focus on
renewable energy, water projects, and PPP’s.

I encourage everybody to keep our vision of being the preferred African Construction
Partner and employer in mind as we interact with new clients and other stakeholders.

I wish you all a prosperous and fruitful 2020.

GROUP RISK Inyatsi Construction Group Holdings
MANAGEMENT

Why Risk Management?

– Successful risk identification, analysis, response planning, and monitoring are critical to the success of all
projects.
– Project risks, unless reduced or eliminated, constitute a barrier, both real and potential, to the
accomplishment of the project established goals and objectives.
– Risk management, therefore, will be critical to the project’s success in meeting its objectives.
– Proactive risk management techniques are required to identify, analyse, plan responses and monitor all
potential risks to the program

Risk VS. Issue

– A risk is a potential future event that could prevent the project from achieving its objectives.
– An issue is an event (that is known, with absolute certainty) that: may prevent a current or future project
task being completed as planned or prevent a project from meeting the planned scope, schedule or cost
requirements.
– Issues differ from risks in that risks are future events that may occur; risks can be identified before they
occur by analysis.
– Issues are only identified when they occur.
– A risk can or expire or become an issue.
– Risks may have beneficial outcomes in which case they help the project.

WORLD AIDS DAY 2019 Inyatsi Construction Group Holdings

Communities Make the Difference

2019 Wellness Day was commemorated in style, and well
attended by employees including management. The event
was held on 29th November 2019 at Riders Ranch in Sidvokodvo
in the Manzini Region. The slogan was: Communities Make
the Difference (Think globally, act locally).

The event’s major objective is mainly to bring together all

employees (all categories) into one locality and encourage them to speak one language,
which is to recognize and appreciate the existence of HIV & related illnesses. Further, the
purpose is to get employees to embrace HIV AIDS victims and receive new advises and
ideas on how best we can fight against the pandemic.

Our own assessments give an impression that the event was a success. There were
several activities scheduled for the day which included; educational lessons from health
professionals from Manzini Wellness Centre. Employees were encouraged to use the
lessons learnt and share them with different communities, in order to bring change and
win the fight against HIV.

Wellness Centre also provided mobile testing and counseling facilities for individuals that
braved themselves to undergo HIV, diabetes, as well as TB screening.

Furthermore, there were lots of fun filled games which included Aerobics, Spinning, Soccer,
Netball, Biggest braai competition, and many more.

Shareholders and Management deserve an applause for availing funds and participation
to enable the event to be as successful as it was. It showed that Inyatsi really cares for
its employees. It is with utmost pride to boast that employees are now well educated on
wellness issues and provided with world class support in their day to day way of life.

Health and wellness initiatives in the workplace does impact employee behaviors in a

as their boss. Staff members perform better when they feel
respected and valued in their roles and reciprocate that
trust in doing their job well.
However, there is more to getting the most out of your
team than simply being a nice boss. You do need to keep
your employee’s best interests at heart to see how this can benefit your company overall.
Sure, they are there to work for you and do the job you pay them to do, but there are ways and means to
go about this and becoming a caricature of a horrible boss isn’t one of them!

Career Advancement.

If there are opportunities within your company for staff members to advance, the giving them the correct
tools to do the job will not only help them to feel like a valued member of the team but also be beneficial
to what they do for you on a day to day basis

Can you send them for additional training or enroll them in higher education?
• If so, can you choose the best master’s degree for staff members can help them to go further in
your company?
• If so, they will be able to feedback this knowledge and training as they carry out their jobs and
deliver the quality of work and level of service you expect from your staff members.

Respect for their time outside of the job

This is an important one. Employees respect bosses who appreciate they have a life outside of their work.
No one should be expected to put a job above everything else in their lives. This is important for everyone
but especially those who have children or family members they need to take care of.
Finding that line between allowing them the flexibility to work from home if the job allows it, compassion for
the unexpected issues that crop up, e.g. child illnesses or anything else and not being taken advantage of
can boost staff morale.
Nothing brings a workforce down more than knowing their boss refuses to allow them some slack for those
hiccups in life no one can account for.

Listen to Concerns

Your staff members are the ones doing the work for you and with you. How often do you listen to them?
Not just office chit chat but on more serious issues?
Such as, if things aren’t working well or if you would benefit from a change in the way you work to be more
efficient. It makes sense, that if they are the ones doing the job role, they will know when something isn’t
working and can be done better.
Value their input, encourage it and see how you can become a more well-oiled machine and hone your
collective skills to boost the company and boast a more productive, efficient and happier workforce.
