That reputation existsbecause of the men who continue to invest their time and energy intomaking our Tables and our communities stronger.A special thank you must go to my wife, whose support andunderstanding throughout the year made it possible for me to dedicatethe time required to serve the Area. We revived an old tradition the Area Golf Day. In the past, this day was known for itsrich fellowship andstrong sense of community.Paarl 44 raised their hand to bring it back and also took the initiative to host the first revived event. The Golf Day took place on 29 March 2025 at Theewaterskloof Golf Club. It was not only a great day ofgolf but also one filled with camaraderie and connection. To make it more engaging, we used an app to enterscores, allowing every player to track who wasin thelead and where they stood on the leaderboard throughout the day.A total of 18 players participated, and each received a cap. There wassome excellent golf and some lessthan stellar golf but overall, the spirit of the day stood out.The winner of the 2024/2025 Area Golf Day was Dian Jooste with 48 points. Congratulations, Dian! Hereceived the floating trophy, along with a Paarl 44 Golf Day shirt to make the occasion even more special. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Aanpas.Verbeter’n Verskil wat saak maak

WP Ladiestime of connection, laughter, and unforgettable memories. TheirWeekendsupport and spirit continue to uplift the Round Table community.Western Province Ladies Weekend Makes ItsTriumphant ReturnFor years, the Western Province Ladies Weekend was ahighlight on the calendar a space where women fromacrossthe region gathered to unwind, reconnect, andcelebrate life. Then, for a while, the tradition went quiet.Life got busy, plansfell away, and what had once been aneagerly anticipated event became a fond memory. Untilnow. This year marked the return of the WesternProvince Ladies Weekend, and it came back with all thesparkle and spirit it had been known for. Women fromYzerfontein, Villiersdorp, Cape Town, Somerset West,Elgin, Durbanville, and Worcester gathered together onceagain, proving thatsome traditions are simply too goodto let go. From the moment everyone arrived, the energyfelt electric asif the years apart had only builtanticipation. The weekend unfolded in a perfect balance of fun andrelaxation. Games broke down barriers, music filled theevenings, and the kind of conversations that only happenwhen women are given .the time and space to truly connectcarried long into the night. One of the standout highlightswas the cocktail challenge, where each woman created adrink inspired by her profession. Eleven concoctions later, the group had tasted everything from elegant pink cocktailsto bold creations that dared the brave. More than just amixology experiment, it became a celebration of creativityand individuality and a reminder of the talent and humorthat each person brought to the table. Lovely homemadepizza, Carina’s amazing butter chicken, and the rugby wereall highlights, but it was the music curated by theYzerfontein ladies that stole the show, pulling everyone to C the dance floor and giving the weekend its heartbeat.herie Austin

Takingthe RondeltoIIrroonn--MMaannTTThere’s a moment in every long race - that inflection point -where doubts get loud, demons show up, and quitting starts tosound reasonable. And it’s in that moment you decide what kindof men you are. Do you fold? Or do you take one more stroke, onemore pedal, one more step? Through Ironman4TheKidZ, thatstruggle meant something bigger. Every kilometer carriedpurpose. Every ache had weight. Every push mattered.Race day in Mossel Bay tested us completely. The swim demandedfocus, the bike challenged our resilience, and the run reminded usthat the body has limits - but purpose does not. Every stroke, everypedal, every step wastied to something bigger than ourselves.hey say you only meet your true self when you’re exhausted -when the comfort is gone, the crowd is gone, and it’s just you, your breath, and whatever’s left in the tank. That’s why we tookon Ironman. Not for a medal, not for a finish time, but to find outwho we are when everything else isstripped away.raining wasn’t glamorous. Early swims, dark morning rides, longruns we had them all. But we also had each other, pushingthrough the tough days, keeping one another accountable, andreminding ourselves why we started. The journey was personal, but it was strengthened by a circle of people who believed in us.Racing through Ironman4TheKidZ gave us the chance to turn oureffort into something meaningful for the kids and communitiesthe foundation supports.
Crossing that line wasn’t just a personal victory. It was acelebration of teamwork, purpose, and the people whohelped make it possible. We finished tired, sore, sunburnt - but proud. Proud of the cause, proud of theeffort, and proud of the community behind us.e were honored to be supported by Round Table CapeTown 9, Sidekwest, Comlink, World Kinetic,Hotseat Agency and Character Licensing andMarketing (CLM). A special thank-you to RoundTable Southern Africa, whose belief in us gave thischallenge even deeper meaning.
