OFF TO A GOOD START
“For last year's words belong to last year's language.
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a Beginning."
TS Eliot
The NEW BOARD is now on Board.
Despite the tumultuous events that challenged the election for new set of
FVVAI Board of Governors, the election was held last March 20, 2016.
Kudos to the Interim Board President Mr. Eduardo Francisco and Election
Committee Chairperson Miss Myrna Hallare and ELECOM members Miss Virma
Vergerl De Dios and Miss Lee Orendain.
Valle Verde 1 residents exercised their rights to choose their candidates and the
turnout was generally successful.
Majority of the candidates won by proxies and the new set of FVVAI Board
of Governors was elected and eventually mandated to carry out their duties for
the service of Valle Verde 1 Community.
Immediately after the successful election, the new Board convened and elected
the Association’s primary officers namely:
President Mr. Buenaventura Vergel De Dios
Vice President Ms. Teresita Ochoa
Board Treasurer Mr. Peter Javier
Board Secretary Mr. Delfin Warren
The First Town Hall Meeting was held under the new Board.
For strengthened transparency, the new Board scheduled a Town Hall
Meeting with all Valle Verde 1 residents last May 1, 2016. This was to encourage
all VV1 residents to voice out their issues and queries involving the community.
In this meeting, topics such as the master plan, financial reports, upcoming
activities, communication and security concerns were taken up among the
residents.
With all issues and concerns carefully noted, the new FVVAI Board of
Governors assured all VV1 residents that the new administration will be
interactive and cooperative and will leave no stones unturned to give good
service to all VV1 residents.

A BREAK FROM A ROUTINE
“…… sometimes a break from our usual grind is
what we need to be whole again.”
Introduction of the new FVVAI Board of Governors & Thanksgiving
With the village election over, the new Board is up and around and
started to roll up its sleeves to work on issues and concerns raised during the
Town Hall Meeting.
While work is on the forefront, the new Board loosened a bit and treated
all Valle Verde 1 residents to a Thanksgiving Party and Introduction of the new
Board members last May 13, 2016.
Mr. Jing Warren, the Board Secretary used his powers to invite the very
talented Pinoy Rock Bands to entertain residents that night pro bono. Each
of the Board members contributed funds for food, drinks and equipment to
make this event memorable. Our Board of Directors Miss Tita Ochoa, Miss
Linda Tan and Mr. Vincent Garcia made sure that our residents will not run out
of food and drinks. All the Board of Directors was in full force to attend to all
VV1 residents. The turnout was a huge success. A lot of residents attended
and jammed with the band while most ladies danced with the music. The party
ended in wee hours and all went home recharged.
The event initiated by the new Board of Directors achieved its objective
of letting go of the past hurdle and starting anew. The new Board only hopes
the best for every resident and hopefully, this was the start.
The highlights of that event are on the next page.
A SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT to the great PINOY ROCK BANDS for gracing
the night and providing entertainment to our VV1 community.
Salamat sa uulitin !!

EASY COME, EASY GO

Free RFID installation for Valle Verde 1 residents.
The new FVVAI Board of Governors, headed by Vice President Tita
Ochoa and Board of Director Miss Linda Tan, initiated an activity for the
complete convenience of VV1 residents. Last June 2-3, 2016, an RFID
installation was held in the Valle Verde 1 Clubhouse to the delight of many
residents as they do not have to go as far as Calamba or Bicutan just to have
an RFID installed in their vehicles. Having RFID installed in vehicles, motorists
will have easy and smooth access to SLEX and Skyway. This will cut down
their travel time by significant number of minutes when they ply to this
direction. Easy come, easy go through SLEX and Skyway through RFID is the
way to go.
VV1 residents who were not able to attend this two-day RFID activity have
clamored for a repeat.

SHAKE DRILL
AN EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS DRY RUN
The FVVAI Board of Governors partnered with Barangay Ugong Disaster
Emergency Response Team and conducted a DRY RUN last June 15, 2016 in
preparation for the NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL that
happened last June 22, 2016. The Mayor of Pasig, Mayor Maribel Eusebio
attended the dry run
The June 15, 2016 drill along the streets of Suha, Duhat and Macopa had
prepared the Valle Verde 1 residents for a bigger and well-televised June 22,
2016 drill. As what was expected, the Shake Drill in Vale Verde 1 was well-
participated by residents.
Valle Verde 1 is one of the villages that are unfortunately cut across by the West
Valley Fault, a 100-kilometer active fault that can generate a 7.2-magnitude
earthquake.
During the June 22 simultaneous metro-wide Shake Drill, our Valle Verde 1 was
featured on GMA 7.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
MANILA, Philippines – Maps recently released by the Philippine Institute of
Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) allow people to see the location of the
West Valley Fault and East Valley Fault in Greater Metro Manila.
Rappler compiled a list of subdivisions or residential villages that appear to have
active faults.
The list only includes places where houses appear to have been built on top of
an active fault or where, based on the subdivision's structure, houses are likely
to be built on top of the fault.
Affected subdivisions are diverse: from enclaves of the rich like Loyola Grand
Villas in Quezon City, to the depressed Maharlika Village in Taguig.
Rappler found that 57 subdivisions or residential villages are transected by the
West Valley Fault, a 100-kilometer active fault that can generate a 7.2-
magnitude earthquake.
Villages and Subdivisions in Pasig are: Kawilihan Village

PREPARE FOR THE BIG ONE
The dreaded BIG ONE may happen anytime soon. Are we all ready for it?
We do not know when it will actually happen. What is certain is it can happen on
the time we least expect it. So not to be caught unprepared, please spare time to
read and understand these tips from The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and
Seismology (PHILVOCS). Better be READY than SORRY.
During an earthquake, PHILVOCS advises affected persons to stay indoors if
they are already within a structurally sound building or home. In particular, the
agency cites the following tips:
If possible, quickly open the door for exit
Duck under a sturdy desk or table, and hold on to it, or protect your head
with your arms
Stay away from glass windows, shelves, cabinets, and other heavy objects
Beware of falling objects. Be alert and keep your eyes open
Meanwhile, those who are outside should move to an open area, and
follow these safety measures:
Stay away from trees, power lines, posts, and concrete structures
Move away from steep slopes which may be affected by landslides
If near the shore and feeling an earthquake, especially a strong one,
quickly move to higher grounds in anticipation of possible tsunamis
Those who are in a moving vehicle should stop and get out, the agency
adds. “Do not attempt to cross bridges, overpasses, or flyovers which may
have been damaged.” (READ: Earthquake tips for drivers: Don't panic)
