CRCC Points Standings 10
At our CRCC October meeting, we had the opportunity to present October Charity Recipients 11
checks to five local charities as we dispersed funds from our 2007 2007 Officers 11
car show. It is a real pleasure to be able to provide support to these Photos
charities. For many charities, CRCC ’ s contribution is a major por-
tion of their budget on an annual basis. For others, our contribution Clothe-a-Child 12
allows them to provide needed support that would not otherwise be
available to the people they serve. Thanks to Fall Leaf Run 12
everyone who lent a helping hand, it is appre- CRCC Charity Hi-lite 13

Another topic of discussion at the last meet-
ing was Homecomings and how we should ap-
proach Homecomings next year. The problem
we experienced this year was that many
schools moved Homecomings up, closer to the
beginning of the football season which packed
too many Homecomings into too short a period
of time. In prior years, Homecomings were
spread out over a month period so we had
fewer Homecomings on a given day; this was
not the case this year. The majority of Home-
comings were in a two week period causing a
strain on members volunteering their time and
cars. We struggled to get enough cars on a
given day to fill promises to schools. A com-
mittee has been formed to address the issue
for next Homecoming season. Anyone who
would like to join the committee and make your
voice known, let me know. I really have to
Page 2 November, 2007
comment on this issue. Many people in the club have
remarked that we spend too much time on charitable
activities and don ’ t focus on fun activities. I con-
sider the Fall Leaf Run one of the most enjoyable,
fun, activities of our entire year. This year there
were only 14 cars that took part in the leaf run. That
is a fun activity and the majority of the club passed.
Send me an email and enlighten me on this issue. Is
the Fall Leaf Run not a fun activity?
At the next meeting we will be constructing the
2008 slate of officers for CRCC, so think about tak-
ing the opportunity to provide guidance and direction
for your club.

running again would welcome the competition.
Some of this years offices have no one running
for them which is really a shame. Vice Presi-
dent, Social Director, Homecoming Director and
Competition Director come to mind as having
no one admitting that they would be interested
in running for the position. All of our Offices
take some time but none of them will take too
much time.
Holding an office is an excellent way to really
get to know people and make CRCC friends. I
highly encourage new people to take a chance.
I speak from experience as I volunteered to run
for Homecoming Director after Chris and I at-
tended our first meeting. I got lots of help
from Di Neal (the previous director) and Chris
and I got to meet and talk to almost every
member. We really jumped in with both feet
and never looked back. So even if you’re just
toying with the idea “maybe, sometime”, try
going for it. I think you’ll find that club mem-
bers are willing to help you with any questions
you might have and your experience of being a
club member will be greatly enhanced.

family members of survivors and people who work in jobs

These groups have membership rolls of 40 and 60 survi-
