SOUTHERN STANDARD
The individuals on our team have decades of experience working on FSU’s campus delivering
successful projects of all sizes. We understand how to avoid the critical issues associated
with working on an occupied campus around students, faculty, and staff. Our knowledge of
FSU’s campus is important as you evaluate our firm’s capabilities on future projects.
We want to emphasize the relationship of our on-site team and their ability to work
together. Below is our team, most of whom have worked together side-by-side on FSU’s
campus. Besides the experience they bring to the project as individuals, the fact that they
have worked collectively on major and minor projects is an important strength.
On the right, you will find lists of successfully completed FSU projects by our Team
Members.

SAMPLE SCHEDULE
Sequence
Should abatement of the existing flooring tile and mastic be included in the project scope
of work, it will be necessary to separate abatement activities from construction activities.
Southern Standard has had success creating separate access to each of the floors by
designating separate stairwells and zones for abatement and construction.
Our team plans to begin work on the 3rd floor before proceeding to the 2nd floor so we
work our trades out of the building rather than backtracking over completed work. After
the removal of the existing furniture and book stacks, it will be necessary to perform
selective demolition so that the abatement crews can access the existing ACM flooring and
mastic. Once the lab tests are complete and we receive the all clear that it is safe to occupy
the abated floor, the remainder of the construction activities may progress.
