PSME as GREEN will go beyond 2023 but I will be stepping down a few days from now. Time flies so fast – it felt that I had accepted the great responsibility just yesterday. The responsibility of leading a great organization is different from the leading a business company. I am, or should I say, I was the president of my own company. “Was” as for the last months, my time and efforts were all focused on our organization. I am fortunate that my family, led by my supportive wife, Mary Jane, let me put PSME on the top priority. She may say that I am just the president by name only. Leading, managing PSME is totally different, more exhausting, it consumes your physical, mental and emotional energy - but it was rewarding. It was rewarding as I was at the forefront – I am on the wheel – leading the PSME where I thought it should be. As I have said before, I believed in the objective of our forefathers when they founded PSME. The core objective of uniting and enjoing mechanical engineers in the pursuit of further professional growth and in the uplifting of the profession, in general. PSME may have change it in the past - but it was more on writing, articulating the PSME. Similar to the Annual Agenda of PSME, it may vary depending on the focus of your President but at its core, is advancement of the Mechanical Engineering profession, build camaraderie and to contribute to National Building. As the president, it was all too-consuming. I will not anymore report on my accomplishment. You have seen and heard, and for most of you, I hope experience the accomplishment of the GREEN 2023. The audio-video presentation was played earlier and will be played again to inform, share, and document the year that was. As the National President, there were hard and fast decisions to make. There were unpopular stands that I have to take as your National President. All the weight of those decisions - for better and for worse - fall upon the shoulder of your President. But I am fortunate that I have you all. I wish to take this opportunity to thank you. Allow me to thank – EVP Jeremy T. Aguinea, VPI Archelle B. Baculi, VPE Jun Perater, NS Siegfried G. Sia, NT James Bernard C. Itao, VP NCR Rob Manuel Jr, VP Luzon James D. Abarca, VPV Joe Arib, VPM Edgar D. Guerra, VP PME Affairs Joe Losa, VP CPM Rex Casiple, VP Education & Training Sonny T. Calma, IPP Mel P. Banayos. NatCon Chair Ferdie Alcos, PhilMach Chair Resty Ramillano and many many more, who if I have to mention each, would take me hours. And to each one of you here – my sincerest gratitude to all of you. All the accomplishment - I owe it all to you. The lapses – I take full responsibility. But before I step down, I am leaving you this one big project as my service.. We are taking our first step with this. The leaps and bounds will happen in the next months. The new, unified and user-friendly domain of our Society ….. psmeinc.org.ph As we never rest innovating for the service of our general membership, I look forward to launching of the full PSME application. I am turning over the Presidency with grateful heart, I am positive that the 2024 National President will lead PSME to greater heights without personal interest, all for the service of the general membership. Again, thank you very much! Mabuhay ang resilient Filipino Mechanical Engineers! Agbiag Ti PSME! President Elect Jeremy T. Aguinea, I am now turning over the banner and the gavel of our Society. May under your care, our banner will be raised in many more chapters. And may with every bang of the gavel, PSME stand be reinforced. And my prayers are with you and your presidency. A C C O M P L I S H M E N T R E P O R T T h e G R E E N P S M E A g e n d a To my 2023 National Board of Trustees, the incoming 2024 Board led by the President-Elect Jeremy T. Aguinea, PSME Chapter Officers and Members, Valued Guests and Partners, a good and GREEN evening to all of you.
