Themes for this year are: African Penguin Awareness Day (June 8), World Giraffe Day (June 22), World Rhino Day (June 29), Tiger Day (July 27), Lion Day (Aug 10), Orangutan Day (Aug 17), Reptile and Amphibian Day (Aug 24). Admission: $40 each at the gate, early discounted tickets available. Slumber Safari The night begins with entering the Zoo just as they’re closing, setting up your tents while hearing our lion’s nightly roars or our primates end of day calling. Once you’re all set, it’s time to visit an animal for a behind-thescenes encounter. Then, join your fellow campers at picnic tables to enjoy a pizza dinner, or bring your own food! After dinner, the fun continues with a visit from some of our ambassador animals. Your family will then be treated to a late night, themed tour of the Zoo. See how the animals behave differently when the guests are gone and the sun is setting, before wrapping up the night with s’mores around the campfire near the pavilion overlooking Lake Michigan. After a night under the stars in your tent, wrap up with a continental breakfast and enjoy complimentary admission to the Zoo the next day. This summer’s events take place June 29 - 30, Aug 23 - 24, and Sept 14 - 15. Sign up now at racinezoo.org.
