Peanut Butter & Jam Concert Series

The PB&Jam Concert Series, presented by the City of Kenosha
and Happenings Magazine, returns this year at Veteran’s
Memorial Park, 625 52nd Street for two free shows - a lunch
show at 11:30am and an encore performance at 6pm every

Pike River Benefit Concert Series

The Pike River Benefit Concert Series has become a SE
Wisconsin music staple at Hawthorn Hollow Sanctuary, 880

helping to support Hawthorn Hollow. Admission is $10 at the gate
(cash only). All shows start at 6pm in the Hawthorn Hollow

Kenosha Comedy Club

Every Friday and Saturday evening, the laughs erupt in
Downtown Kenosha at the Kenosha Comedy Club, located in the
Wyndham Garden Hotel. Featuring national touring headliners as
well as local comedians, each weekend provides 90 minutes of
live entertainment. A few of the upcoming guests scheduled this

Kenosha County Historical Society, on the beautiful
Simmons Island, is a campus of two buildings with four
exhibit galleries, a gift shop, staff offices and their

and the Archives. The Southport Light Station, located
next to the History Center building, features the fourth

is open for the Season
The 1866 Southport Lighthouse tower, located at 5117
Fourth Ave on Simmons Island, is open for visitors 8
years of age and older to climb Thursdays - Saturdays
from 10am - 4pm and Sundays from noon - 4pm. Its 72-
step spiral staircase will take you to the lantern room for
an unparalleled view of Kenosha, the surrounding area,
and, on a crystal clear day, the Chicago skyline. The
tower stands 55 feet above the lighthouse grounds. See
Kenosha, Lake Michigan and into Illinois and Racine
County. The maritime museum, inside the keeper's
house, documents Kenosha's lighthouse keepers, ship-
ping and fishing history, and local shipwrecks. 
Admission for the keeper's house tour is free; donations
are welcome. Lighthouse climb costs $10 for ages 12
and over / $5 children 8-11 years old. (Must be 8 or

Wisconsin and Northern Illinois compete in various sprint and
endurance track events. Track bikes are required on Tuesday
Nights. These specialized bikes are fixed gear bikes with no
brakes; if the back wheel is turning so are the pedals. Licensed
riders from age 9 and up are grouped in ability level. These ath-
letes race at 35+ mph on the steep, 28-degree corner banked
track.
Registration for Tuesday Night Race participants opens at 6pm,
with racing starting at 7pm.
The Washington Park Velodrome opened in 1927 and is the old-
est operating velodrome in the country. It’s the only track in the
state. The velodrome is a 333-meter track. Admission is always
free; bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Ladies Bike Collective is a new organization whose mission is to
connect female riders. Join the Ladies Bike Collective every

Celebrate America

On July 2nd-4th, Downtown Kenosha comes alive with carnival
rides, live music, great food, and more entertainment on multiple
stages as Kenosha prepares to celebrate Independence Day.
Happenings Magazine, Festival Foods and community partners
join the City of Kenosha to support Celebrate America activities
in the HarborPark area July 2-4. Admission is free and open to
the public. Find a good spot to enjoy the fireworks show after
dark on July 4th. Fireworks are staged at Celebration Place east
of the public museums on First Avenue. Celebrate America
takes place near the Kenosha Public Museum and The Civil War
Museum - it’s so big, it will be hard to miss. On July 2-3, both
