The Pine Blossom The Pine Blossom to potential customers?
724 58th St A. The Pine Blossom is a warm, inviting place
262-945-1139 that has all the qualities you look for in a
boutique shop: great products and selection,
reasonable prices, friendly service, and
attention to detail. We also love getting to
know our customers and having fun with
them while they are here.

Q. Are you prepared for the holiday season?
A. I am always ready for Christmas! It is my
favorite season, and although we have so
many wonderful items throughout the year,
the upcoming holiday season is when
The Pine Blossom really steps up.

Q. Tell us about your Tea Parties?
A. When we moved into the new location
earlier this year, we transformed the back
room into a charming little room for small
parties. We have enlisted the fabulous work
of Chef Danielle Weybright of Portside
Catering to make these events truly
remarkable. Stop in and we can talk
about hosting your next event!

Q. What is Lulu Birds is all about? Q&A with Joy Schweitzer Ermert
A. While our main focus is on the vintage and Lulu Birds
antique variety, we also have amazing upcycled
and hand crafted pieces such as furniture built 5716 Sixth Ave

made from antique items such as old cameras and
fire extinguishers. We also have a fun boutique
area with great gift ideas and more personal
items.

Q. Who influenced you to start your own business?
A. My Grandmother owned her own business
(Helen’s Drapery) for many years. She was my
biggest influence. I worked and sold at other
vintage shops before opening my own, every one
of those women were great influence and
inspirations to build up my confidence to open
my own business.

Q. How did you come up with the name Lulu Birds?
A. Lulu Bird was one of dogs. She was a quirky and
beautiful rescue we adored. She lives on now as
the namesake for my business.

Q. What makes Lulu Birds so unique?
A. Our unique and talented vendors of course!
We have an amazing group of individuals that
bless our community by sharing their talents and
creativity through our humble storefront.

To and From - Not your typical @#&%ing gift shop!

Q. What made you decide to open Q&A with Samantha Unrath
To & From Gift Shop? To and From Gift Shop
A. I used to own an appraisal company 5535 Sixth Ave
with my sister Kara and every time we had 262-577-5100
a job out of state we would hit up a bunch
of local gift shops to bring stuff back for
our family. I love shopping and gifting.
One time I randomly mentioned to my
sister how awesome it would be to have a
gift shop that had a little bit of everything
and that’s how it all started. We opened in
April 2019.

Q. What makes To & From Gift Shop stand
out from all the other shops in the area?
A. I would say our #CUSSCLOSET. It is a a
separate room in the back of the shop that
is packed with all thing a little naughty -
clothing, balloons, puzzles, stickers, coffee
cups, greeting cards, kitchen towels
and the list goes on. Don’t be afraid to
wander back there when you visit,
we won’t judge you!

Q. Tell us about your favorite employee, Jeremy. Q. What other kinds of gifts
A. You can expect the best customer service from do you sell?
Jeremy. My one and only employee holds down A. Honestly, a little bit of everything - candles,

Downtown Kenosha?
A. I honestly cannot pick a favorite because they
all offer such awesome things. I love that you can

getting coffee, going shopping, visit the lake,
grab some lunch and even hit up a local pub or
brewery. We’ve got it all.

In 1981, Southport Rigging and Supply opened their
first location in the very lower level of the building,
with the large bay doors in the rear giving easy access
to the water. At the time, they catered more toward
the maritime clientele. By 1983, Southport Rigging
relocated to 6201 22nd Ave and in 1987 to their most
recent location on 75th St.

Throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, KVNA continued to
serve the community from the Ansorge building. But
by 1997, they were looking to grow and saw an
opportunity with the construction of a new office
building directly to the west.

the building, naming his business Lakeside Fisheries
until 1970, when the 50-year fish market district
officially closes. Lakeside Fisheries moves to 3016
75th St and is renamed Lakeside Foods.
