Page 4 HAPPENINGS October 5, 2023 www.hap2it.com You likely know Marsha Warfield from her 1986–92 role as Roz Russell on the Top 10- rated NBC sitcom Night Court. But the name she made for herself as Judge Harry Stone’s tough, nononsense bailiff came doing something she never thought she’d do: acting. It was tough for me because I wasn't an actor. I had been doing standup at that point for 12 years,” she tells Happenings in an exclusive interview. “I was adamant about that. I was not really looking to be an actor.” When the offer came, though, she looked to learn more about the craft she was being called to do, enrolling in an acting class. It didn’t go as planned. “I took the class they told me to get a book, read it and come back to the class the next week,” she recalls. “So I opened the book to the first page, and it said, “The key to acting is to keep it simple.” So I closed the book and left the class and then never took another.” After an overlong period of retirement, Warfield is back for “revenge,” returning to the standup stage to tackle issues including politics, being Black, coming out as a gay woman and her affair with pizza. She will headline the Kenosha Comedy Club at 8 p.m. Oct. 20th and 21st. First-tier tickets are $35 and second-tier seats are $25 – and every seat is good at the club, inside the Wyndham Garden Hotel at 5125 6th Ave. in Kenosha. Being back on the road performing after a couple of decades away has been interesting, she says, as she has built back up her name and her stage chops. “I didn't try to circumvent the process or try to make it easy or to stand on my past,” she explains. “I’ve had to learn how the business has changed. So I went back and started all over again with open mics. You find the stage and you work it in and then take it step by step. And it started to all come together. “I feel comfortable. I don't feel like I'm experimenting. Now, I know my way around again,” she adds. “This is a very good time for me, but it was interesting being an older person as opposed to when I was too stupid to be scared or intimidated by anything. And I was going to go for it.” What can local audiences expect of Warfield’s shows – which she’ll do after finishing a weeklong stint in Las Vegas? “I am coming from the place where we can talk about things as if they make sense,” she says. “Make them make sense. It’s a little autobiographical, some of it from my one-woman show The Book of Marsha, and we talk about politics and life. My point of view about stuff.” Warfield first shaped that comedic point of view in the late ’70s as a writer and performer on The Richard Pryor Show. “All of us were working in the Comedy Store trying to get ahead,” she remembers. We were kids happy to get the exposure. We were just lucky to be there. We all got our SAG cards And just being around Richard Pryor was a comedy master class all in itself. He was very accommodating and sweet.” So, too, Warfield says, was her Nigh Court family. Although she says taking the plunge into acting on one of America’s most beloved shows was daunting, the kindness and camaraderie of her co-stars both taught her and relaxed her. Especially helpful, she noted, was Harry Anderson, the show’s star, who played Judge Harry Stone. “He called me up to the main stage one day not long after I started. I told him it was all overwhelming because I wasn’t an actor,” she remembers. “He said.. ‘I’m not an actor, either. So hang out with me and we’ll watch those guys, pointing to the rest of the cast.” Now that she’s back in her original element many years after discovering it was her element, Warfield doesn’t pause for even a beat when asked whether she’s funnier today than she was starting out. Her answer: “Unquestionably.” By Gary Schneeberger Marsha Warfield says she’s “unquestionably” funnier today than when she started out Born March 5, 1954 (age 69) Chicago, Illinois Warfield grew up on Chicago’s South Side, graduating from Calumet High School. One of her early starts in Hollywood was working as a writer on The Richard Pryor Show in 1977 when she made a few small appearances on the sketch show. In 1986, Warfield was hired to portray the new bailiff Roz Russell at the start of the shows fourth season and would remain on the NBC sitcom for the rest of its run, and even returned for a cameo this year for the 2023 sequel season. She gave the daytime talk show a chance in 1990 with “The Marsha Warfield Show,” which would last for ten months on NBC. Following the wrap of “Night Court,” she would go on to a longtime role as Dr. Maxine Douglas on “Empty Nest” After a long time out of the spotlight, Warfield recently returned to television with a recurring role on the FOX drama series “9-1-1” In 2017, Warfield publicly came outstating “When I told my mother I was gay, she said she knew, and had known all my life.” FYI Marsha Warfield Marsha Warfield takes the stage at the Kenosha Comedy Club on Friday, Oct. 20th and Saturday, Oct. 21st. Page 6 HAPPENINGS October 5, 2023 www.hap2it.com One night a few years back, I found my way home, a little tipsy after an evening in the Belgian town of Bruges. I’d been at my favorite bar in town, the ’t Brugs Beertje, where not only did I get schooled in the many varieties of local beer, but also learned a few things about modern-day Belgian life. I was a bit down on Bruges after a long day of visiting every sight in town. It’s inundated with tourists, especially when a cruise ship is docked (10 miles north in Zeebrugge). It seems nothing here is “untouristy.” The growing affluence in places like Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark brings predictability and homogeneity, along with high prices. It took staying out late and enjoying a couple of beers to jolt me back into a positive mindset. A good percentage of the tourists you meet in Bruges are beer pilgrims. For two consecutive nights I shared a table or bar with travelers who’d come here specifically to enjoy the fine local beer. The ’t Brugs Beertje is beloved among beer aficionados for stocking more than 300 Belgian varieties. I grabbed a stool at the bar with an agenda: to check material on Belgian beers for my guidebook. I planned to pick the brain of Daisy, who then ran the place. But I was surrounded by beer experts, all happy to clue me in. Soon I had a chemistry lab of four different brews in front of me – each with its distinct beaker. A critical part of the beer culture here is the glass: Whether wide-mouthed, tall, or fluted, with or without a stem, tulip-shaped or straight, the glass is meant to highlight a particular beer’s qualities. Four brews were lined up in front of me: Brugse Zot (“Bruges Fool”), one of the few beers actually brewed in Bruges, and considered one of Belgium’s best; a kriek, which is made with sour cherries; a raspberry lambic, what you’d order for friends who “don’t like beer”; and a Chimay, brewed by Trappist monks. Chimay was new to me and perhaps the smoothest and most milkshakelike brew I had ever tasted. “But,” I asked, “where is the Westvleteren?” I knew the answer but wanted to hear it anyway: The monk-made Westvleteren 12 wins all the awards and is considered the world’s best by Belgians, but it’s very hard to come by. A membership in the brewery allows you six bottles per year. They just don’t make anywhere near enough to meet the demand. With a Santa Claus-like twinkle in her eye, Daisy grabbed a bulbous glass labeled St. Bernardus and, as she poured, she explained: “This is the closest beer you will find to Westvleteren. One monk left the abbey with the secret, and he brews this. It’s called St. Bernardus.” Sipping it, I thought, “This would make celibacy almost livable.” Sitting at the bar, I was surrounded by talkative Belgians. I mentioned how unpredictable the weather had been, and they explained they have “nice weather 20 times a day.” Loosened up by a few Zots, my Belgian stool mates started talking about their northern neighbors: “The Dutch have the worst beer, Heineken, but sell it all over the world. Belgians make far better beer, and it is barely exported. Those Dutch could sell a fridge to an Eskimo. The first thing the Dutch ask you is about money – how much people make and how much things cost – which is taboo here in Belgium.” As I conversed effortlessly with a bunch of old Belgians in English, it occurred to me that the language barrier had sunk to new lows. This was really a switch. In the past, only young people were fluent enough in English to be able to clue me in on things. Consequently, I would get a young perspective. Now that English has been essentially required in European schools for decades, even retired people likely speak the language. It’s a new age of communication. And while Belgian restaurant prices seem steep, beer lovers on a budget eat cheaply in the pubs. I’d go low end on the food – you can get hearty pub grub for $12 – and go high end on the beer, sampling the best in Europe for $6 a bottle. This allows the poor American tourist to have two great beers and a basic meal for $24. As a beginner in Daisy’s pub, I was extremely steep on the learning curve. But – especially with a St. Bernardus to sip on – it was a fun education at an affordable price. By Rick Steves Bruges brews lift a weary traveler’s spirits travel In Belgium, each type of beer has its own glass – whether wide, tall, or fluted – to show off its distinct qualities. Fans of fall know that few things can beat the crisp, sunny afternoons of October. The early days of the month bring with them comfortable temperatures and beautiful vistas. Summer's heat and humidity often are things of the past, and time spent outdoors, whether raking leaves or tailgating at a football game, can be quite pleasant. Camping and hiking Take in the awe of fall foliage up close and personal by visiting a rural area or park a short drive away from home. New York City residents, for example, can head to the Catskills, while Chicagoans can head to White Pines State Park. Different regions of the country will show off their fall colors at different times, and while foliage may be past peak, these two- to three-hour drives be highly enjoyable. Fall festivals Check out the chamber of commerce or visitors' bureau websites of various cities and towns to see what is being offered relatively close by. Many will put on community fairs, festivals and the like. Columbus Day also presents a chance to celebrate Italian culture in many places, so Italian food and cultural festivals may be on the docket for those looking for such an excursion. Skiing towns When the last of the summer tourists depart from ski resort towns and the lull sets in before the winter ski season heats up, visitors to Colorado cities like Aspen or Telluride or the Vermont city of Stowe can find great deals on hotel stays and dine out at relatively empty restaurants. Warm weather culture People who are not ready to part with warm weather can head to Miami. Miami often puts on a huge festival on Columbus Day and people from all over the world come to enjoy it. There's fun for all ages and guests are welcome to arrive in costume. Indigenous cultures Individuals looking to learn more about Native Americans may want to travel to the states with the highest populations of Indigenous peoples. These include Alaska, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Montana, and North Dakota. It's likely celebrations will be held in these areas highlighting their distinct culture and heritage. Plan an October weekend getaway

Page 8 HAPPENINGS October 5, 2023 www.hap2it.com Megan Thee Stallion urges fans to check on friends for mental health Megan Thee Stallion is urging you to check on your friends. The rapper, whose offstage name is Megan Pete, is part of a new public service announcement called Seize the Awkward, a national campaign to encourage young people to talk to friends about mental health. "It's important that we regularly check in on our friends and family and make sure to show empathy, encouragement and love when they're struggling," she said in a statement. "A strong support system can make a powerful difference in someone's life." Pete has also touched on mental health in her music: Her website, "Bad Bitches Have Bad Days Too" gathers mental health resources in one place. The suicide rate for children and teens ages 10 to 24 has been increasing, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "Reach out to a friend if you see them going through it," Megan Thee Stallion said in a video for the campaign. "No matter who you are, being vulnerable is what makes us whole." Adding 3,000 steps per day may lower blood pressure among older adults Adding 3,000 extra steps a day can help older adults with hypertension significantly lower their blood pressure. About 80% of older adults in the United States have high blood pressure. Keeping it down can help protect against heart failure, heart attacks and strokes. The researchers focused on a group of sedentary 68- to 78-yearolds who walked about 4,000 steps per day. By adding in 3,000 steps, they would log 7,000 daily steps, in line with a recommendation of the American College of Sports Medicine. Participants received kits with pedometers, blood pressure monitors and step diaries to track their progress. On average, participants' systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased by 7 and 4 points, respectively, after the intervention. Systolic, the top number in a blood pressure reading, is the pressure exerted against artery walls when the heart beats; diastolic is pressure between beats. The results would be equivalent to reductions seen with medications for high blood pressure. Even eight participants who were already taking high blood pressure medication saw improvements in systolic blood pressure from increasing their daily activity. Speed of walking and how long a person walked at a time did not matter as much as simply increasing total steps. The researchers hope to use these data to launch a larger clinical trial. Emotional support alligator barred from attending Phillies game A Pennsylvania man was unable to attend the game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates when stadium security turned away his emotional support animal: an alligator. Joie Henney, a former hunting and fishing TV host who appeared on networks including ESPN Outdoors, has had Wally the gator for about seven years, and he had the unusually gentle reptile licensed as an emotional support animal while he was undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Henney said Wally's visits to schools, hospitals and assisted living facilities caught the attention of the Phillies, who invited him to bring his pet to meet members of the team and their partners before the game. Henney said he and Wally arrived at the stadium too late for the meet-up, as the players were already warming up on the field. "So we bought tickets and Wally has been into other baseball games, so we assumed that it was OK," Henney told CNN. "We never asked or checked with it, but they only allow service animals, such as dogs and horses, into the stadium, not ESA animals." Henney said he was disappointed, but he understood being turned away by security at Citizens Bank Park. The rules for Citizens Bank Park state: "Certified service dogs or service dogs in training for guests with special needs are welcome. All other animals are prohibited." Henney said he is hoping to schedule another meet-up with team members in the future. Couple's pit stop leads to $1 million Powerball prize A Maryland couple on a long drive home made a pit stop in Virginia and bought a Powerball ticket that earned them a $1 million prize. Christine Oberheitmann and her husband were driving home to when they made a stop in Cape Charles, Va. Oberheitmann said she noticed while inside the store that the Powerball jackpot for the Sept. 9 drawing had grown to $500 million. She bought a ticket and continued the journey home, where the couple later learned the ticket had matched all five white balls in the drawing: 11-19-29-63-68. Oberheitmann and her husband made a second trip to Virginia to claim their prize at the lottery office in Hampton. "We'll probably stop at the store on the way home to take a selfie," she said. coast to coast FCC fines DISH Network in space debris enforcement action The Federal Communications Commission announced a legal settlement with DISH Network, marking its first enforcement action in tackling escalating levels of orbital space debris. Under the settlement, DISH has agreed to pay a penalty of $150,000 and "adhere to a compliance plan" after admitting liability for not properly disposing of its EchoStar-7 satellite after the end of its mission, the FCC announced. The agency said that rather than boosting the spent satellite 186 miles above its operational geostationary arc as required, DISH instead only sent it 76 miles higher -- "well short" of what was required to push the craft above and beyond the evergrowing field of orbital junk now circling the planet. The enforcement action represents a landmark in U.S. efforts to seriously address the problem of space debris, said FCC Enforcement Bureau Chief Loyaan Egal. DISH launched EchoStar-7 in 2002 and promised 10 years later to boost it 186 miles above its geostationary orbit by May 2022, when it estimated the satellite would run out of fuel. However, in February 2022 the company reported it there was not enough propellent left to carry out the planned maneuver, the FCC said. Last year the agency adopted new rules requiring satellite operators in low-Earth orbit to dispose of their satellites within five years of completing their missions, significantly shortening the longheld 25-year guideline for "deorbiting" satellites postmission. Officials said that as of the end of 2021 there were more than 4,800 satellites operating in orbit, with the vast majority of those being commercial lowEarth orbit satellites. The new 5- year rule for deorbiting those satellites, they said, "will mean more accountability and less risk of costly collisions that increase debris." Megan Thee Stallion

Page 12 HAPPENINGS October 5, 2023 www.hap2it.com Sweet Notes Persons with diabetes (see Stories for the Waiting Room at right) have trouble maintaining healthy levels of insulin in their blood, which requires some of them to externally supplement through injections or a pump. To make that process easier, researchers have been investigating implanting insulinproducing designer cells in capsules that can be controlled through signals such as light, temperature or electric fields. In the latest effort, they've tried music with sound frequencies and volume levels acting as the triggers. The approach appears to be promising, especially using some types of music. In experiments, Queen's "We Will Rock You" was particularly effective. A study found that otherwise healthy adults in Australia (over age 70) and in the U.S. (over 65) who took a regular low-dose aspirin to reduce risk of heart attack or stroke were 20% more likely to be anemic than a group taking a placebo. Medical History This week in 1878, warning against the use of tobacco, the senior physician to the Metropolitan Free Hospital wrote in The London Times about the huge health and social costs of tobacco consumption. "The use of tobacco is one of the most evident of all the retrograde influences of our time," opined Dr. Charles Drysdale. Earlier, Drysdale had published medical data noting excessive tobacco use was linked to jaundice and heart palpitations. In 1875, he wrote a booklet entitled "Tobacco and the Diseases It Produces." Just 89 years later, the U.S. surgeon general would famously declare that cigarette smoked causes lung cancer and probably heart disease. Ig Nobel Apprised The Ig Nobel Prizes celebrate achievements that make people laugh, then think. A look at real science that's hard to take seriously, and even harder to ignore. In 1998, the Ig Nobel Prize in Biology went to Peter Fong of Gettysburg College for contributing to the happiness of clams by giving them Prozac. Last Words "How did the Mets do today?" — Major League Baseball player Moe Berg (1902-1972). Berg played 15 seasons but was never more than an average player. He is perhaps better remembered as being a spy for the U.S. Office of Strategic Services (precursor to the CIA) during World War II. Berg never actually played for the Mets who, incidentally, won that day. The Fugitive (1993) source:amazon.com - may include pre-orders 'Caligula' naughtier than ever in Ultimate Cut Caligula: The Ultimate Cut, which screened at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, is unlikely to win over critics of the original film. But, fans of the notorious Penthouse production will be treated to even more debauchery in a more focused narrative. The film charts the rise and fall of Roman Emperor Caligula (Malcolm McDowell). The empire's excesses involve the carnal delights that Penthouse magazine specialized in. Producer Bob Guccione took the film away from director Tinto Brass and added hardcore sex to the film's orgy scenes. The Ultimate Cut is comprised entirely of alternate takes of scenes or footage that has never appeared, and none of Guccione's additions. It remains the story of Caligula, though. Caligula's predecessor, Cesar Tiberius (Peter O'Toole) already had a harem of sex slaves performing for him or fulfilling his needs. So any take chosen is still full of background actors naked, writhing and simulating sex. Some sex acts are even suggested in shadow. The third hour also restores much ofHelen Mirren's role as Caligula's wife, Caesonia. Considering the softcore sex scenes she shares with McDowell in this section, it's surprising Guccione would have ever omitted erotic material with his lead actors. Malcom McDowell and Helen Mirren star in the 1979 erotic historical drama “Caligula.” A three hour directors cut was recently screened at Beyond Fest Calee Spaeny Joel Kinnaman

www.hap2it.com October 5, 2023 HAPPENINGS Page 21 I have never been a fan of restaurants owned by, or associated with, celebrities. It could be if, while dining, the celebrity whose name is on the door and the menu were sitting near me or, preferably, being told the wait is “over an hour, since you don’t have a reservation.” So far, that hasn’t occurred. I’ve never spotted Michael Jordan devouring a T-bone at Michael Jordan’s Steak House; never saw Jimmy Buffett – may he rest in peace – working the blender at Margaritaville or encountered Robert De Niro dunking tuna sashimi into soy sauce at Nobu. During Oprah Winfrey’s six-year run as a partner in Chicago restaurant The Eccentric, I visited one evening and pointedly asked the waiter if Oprah was really in the kitchen, whipping up a side dish known only as “Oprah’s Potatoes.” She wasn’t. Also, a visit to a celebrityowned restaurant invariably ends with a bill that could easily be paid by a celebrity but not us common folk. The same holds true in grocery or liquor stores. I’ll happily save a few bucks and not purchase the Guy Fieri barbecue sauce or the Nick Jonas tequila. My football tailgates won’t suffer. And yet, I recently found myself feeling sorry for actor Paul Newman. And not because he’s dead. Newman, star of classics including “The Sting,” “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” and “The Color of Money,” not to mention the owner of steely blue eyes, launched a line of “Newman’s Own” salad dressings in 1982. According to newmansown.com, the line grossed $300,000 in its first year. None of those profits came from me, for I remember picking up a bottle of Newman’s Italian dressing while in college, glancing at the price and immediately placing it back on the shelf. My date, who I promised to cook for, “Italian style,” had to settle for generic dressing, which did its best to compliment the other generic products that dotted the menu. Cash-strapped college students were not Newman’s target demographic. Eventually Newman parlayed his success into other foods, including pizza, spices, olive oils and spaghetti sauces. It was the latter that caught my eye during a recent grocery visit. Newman’s Tomato and Basil, Marinara and Sockarooni (“so delicious it could knock your socks off,” the website proclaims) sauces were among the CHEAPEST on the shelves. College students, there’s a SALE in aisle five! Paul Newman has been officially marked down! How did Newman allow brands like Rao, Barilla and Classico to dominate the “too lazy to make your own sauce” market, charging upward of $2 more for sauces? Sad to say, I think it’s because the name “Newman” no longer carries the relevance it used to. Cool Hand Luke died 15 years ago this month. The more time that elapses, the more likely shoppers will pick up a bottle of Newman’s Own and say, “Who?” before putting it back. Yes, we are a celebrity obsessed culture, but we also want to feel like we have a connection with the celebrities we support. If Taylor Swift launched a line of gum and charged $5 per stick, I am certain sales would still explode, for what young girl doesn’t want their breath to smell like Taylor’s? Now fast-forward 15 years. Taylor will be 48. Probably married with a couple of kids. Maybe doing a 90-minute Vegas residency as opposed to a threeand-a-half-hour stadium show. Will her gum still be a hot commodity? Or will it be alongside the gossip rags and the disposable lighters in the grocery checkout aisle while a new female singer, who probably is currently in preschool, is charging $10 per stick. And making millions. This time, I tossed two jars of Newman’s sauce into my cart, not because they were cheap but because I don’t want Paul Newman, whose films I still watch, to fade away. Besides, the labels say, “100% profits to help kids” and, as vague as that sounds, kids need all the help they can get these days. Now I just have to find that college girl and invite her over for a dinner that will knock her socks off. My Turn with Greg Schwem When did Paul Newman get marked down? Greg Schwem is more than a comedian; he is a motivational corporate comedian. And the corporate world has taken note. Gregs take on the 21st century workplace and work/life balance has landed him on SIRIUS Radio, Comedy Central and the pages of Exceptional People Magazine. More than just a business humorist, Greg is also an author, nationally syndicated humor columnist, TV travel host, award-winning greeting card writer and creator of funnydadinc, voted one of the top Dad humor sites of 2020. He has shared the concert stage with the likes of Celine Dion and Keith Urban. Greg Schwem returns to Kenosha October 27th & 28th tickets available now at

Page 22 HAPPENINGS October 5, 2023 www.hap2it.com Police arrest man suspected in 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur Las Vegas police arrested a man they said was "the shot caller" in the 1996 shooting death of rapper Tupac Shakur. Duane "Keefe D" Davis, 60, was arrested outside his home and faces a single charge of murder with a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang, Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo said in a hearing. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. Jason Johansson said that while Davis didn't pull the trigger of the gun that killed Shakur, he was with the gunman in the vehicle involved in the drive-by shooting. The Review-Journal reported that investigators believe Davis' nephew, Orlando Anderson, who died in another shooting in 1998, was the person who pulled the trigger in the Shakur shooting. Two other suspects in the case are also deceased, CNN reported. Investigators have long believed Davis and Anderson were behind the shooting, but didn't have the evidence to bring the case before a grand jury. Metropolitan Police Sheriff Kevin McMahill said Davis' admissions in a 2018 book he wrote helped prosecutors' case and led to a grand jury indictment. Police said the Sept. 7, 1996, shooting was precipitated by an argument and fight between Shakur and Anderson after attending a boxing match at the MGM Grand between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon. Later, while Shakur was in a vehicle with Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight, a white Cadillac pulled up and opened fire on Shakur, injuring him. Shakur died six days later, on Sept. 13, 1996, at the age of 25. Bruce Springsteen releases song for upcoming film Bruce Springsteenhas released a song for the new filmShe Came to Me. Page 30 HAPPENINGS October 5, 2023 www.hap2it.com October 5, 2023 through October 11, 2023 ARIES (March 21-April 19): Try not to sweat the small stuff. Do your best to build up an immunity to trivial things that could get under your skin. You can gain some understanding by offering to listen to a dear person’s worries or concerns. TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Loved ones could be hiding multiple layers even if they say very little. Still waters can still run deep and there may be an opportunity to dive deeper. Opportunity might come knocking on your door so keep your ears open. GEMINI (May 21-June 20): You may have worked very hard to prove yourself, but one bad word can spread like fire. Try not to let the rumor mill tarnish your shiny track record. Be ready with the data and proof if whispers start echoing. CANCER (June 21-July 22): You might be at a crossroads where maintaining the status quo is the safest way to go. A new opportunity could be coming, but outside factors can bring complications if you move too fast so it may be best to wait for now. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): What you see may not always be what you get. You could be disappointed if you try to be logical when addressing more emotional issues. This might not be the best time to buy something suggested by a family member. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): It can be challenging to achieve your heart’s truest desire without sometimes ruffling a few feathers or causing a misunderstanding. Some people may not be ready to reply even if you leave a polite and detailed message. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): You might need to keep a clear head in order to deal with some hidden emotional issues right now. Offering unconditional love and understanding can help put any minor upsets that may arise right again. SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): One of the joys of modern living is that almost any information, product, or service is available right from your phone. Don’t be afraid to self-promote; let them all know who you are and what you do. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Keeping your arms open wide can welcome in an embrace. Remain approachable whenever possible even if differences of opinion may cause a disagreement with a loved one or friend. Mixed messages could cause avoidable mistakes. Get well Bill! CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): You may understand that organization can be a more efficient way to avoid wasting precious time. If you do your best to focus on your usual routines, you might not be tempted to go on a wild goose chase with someone.. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): You may need to work hard to earn every dollar. It is wise to never risk money you cannot afford to lose, but you might be more willing to spend a little more to purchase something that should be durable. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Even with the best intentions some conversations may feel like an attack. You could be in a more sensitive mood or may have misunderstood something. Take a breath and regroup before reviewing the conversation. ACROSS 1 Fail to interest 5 Bundle of papers 10 Needs no hemming, say 14 "My life.
