Page 4 HAPPENINGS March 21, 2024 www.hap2it.com Mark Wahlberg says his new feel-good film, Arthur the King, is the story of a man who selflessly risked what he thought would be his legacy to save the humblest of creatures. The flick is now playing at local theaters. Based on Swedish athlete Mikael Lindnord's book Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home, the film follows married father and adventure racer Michael Light (Wahlberg) and his teammates played by Simu Liu, Nathalie Emmanuel and Ali Suliman on a 10-day, 435-mile trek through the Dominican Republic. When a mangy, stray dog starts to follow them great distances over rough terrain, they need to decide whether winning is the more important than caring for their canine crew member. "Obviously, the dog had such a drastic impact on Michael and his life. He was completely obsessed and self-absorbed. His whole goal was to become the world champion at adventure racing," Wahlberg, 52, told UPI in a recent Zoom interview with reporters. "For him, to be so close and then be willing to give all that up just to save Arthur because of the impact he had on him in a short amount of time was such a beautiful thing," the actor said. "I thought it would make for a wonderfully inspiring film and I'm just glad I was able to be part of telling that story." The star of The Italian Job, The Departed, The Other Guys and Uncharted said training for Arthur the King -- in which he spends a lot of time running, biking and rowing -- was grueling, even when compared to his famous daily fitness regimens and performances in action movies. "With those, you work out and you're ready for the explosions and the fight scenes and all of that stuff," Wahlberg said. "To look like an endurance racer and to prepare for that training [was challenging]," he added. "I've never really done kayaking and cycling, so you want to look the part. "These are some of the toughest athletes that I've ever seen. I really wanted to make sure that we did Michael and his team and adventure racers all over the world some justice." Another obstacle Michael faces is learning to trust and work with his frenemy Liam (Liu). However, Wahlberg said that screen rivalry did not bleed into his relationship with Liu, a Marvel Cinematic Universe actor who also recently appeared in the Barbie movie and hosted the People's Choice Awards. "I was really just a big supporter and cheerleader of Simu," Wahlberg said of his 34-year-old co-star. "I knew the exciting things he had in the pipeline and how drastic his life and career were going to change in a very short amount of time," he said. "I loved that he still had the desire to come in and not be afraid to literally get in the weeds and the mud and make something special." Wahlberg said he understood the film was different than anything else Liu ever had done before. "We were telling a true story and there's just more pressure, more responsibility to get it right," Wahlberg said. "We were definitely more of a team and a unit, which was great. Obviously, the dynamic between the two [characters] we played with quite a bit," he added. "But, look, I'm an older guy and I really like to see people coming up and creating their own lane and changing the game." Wahlberg also played nicely with Ukai, the dog who played Arthur in the film. "We were neighbors, so we spent quite a lot of time bonding," the actor said, adding that every time the trainer would let the dog go out in the yard, he would whistle at him, a sound Ukai interpreted as an invitation. "He knew I'd have steaks and lots of other treats waiting for him and he could just run right into my house and we'd hang out. It was really nice," Wahlberg said. By Karen Butler 'Arthur the King': Mark Wahlberg says dog taught his character to be a better man Mark Wahlberg stars as an adventure racer who adopts a stray dog named Arthur to join him in an epic endurance in the new film “Arthur the King” Born Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg June 5, 1971 (age 52) Boston, Massachusetts Wahlberg is the youngest of nine children including actor Robert and singer/actor Donnie. Wahlberg has a dark history of racially motivated attacks starting when he was a teenager against Blacks and Vietnamese-Americans. Years later, he has attempted to make amends for his actions, even meeting with a victim of his violent past. At the age of 13, Mark was one of the original members of the New Kids on the Block along with his brother Donnie, but quit after a few months. In 1990, he formed the rap group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and landed the #1 hit “Good Vibrations.” Shortly after rising to fame as a rapper, Wahlberg was featured prominently in a series of underwear ads for Calvin Klein. His big screen acting debut came in 1994 with a role opposite Danny DeVito in “Renaissance Man.” He earned positive reviews after appearing in the films “Boogie Nights” (1997), “Three Kings” (1999), and “The Perfect Storm” (2000). In his younger days, Wahlberg said in a number of interviews that he would retire from acting at the age of 40 to concentrate on parenthood and professional golf. By 2007, at age 36, he indicated that it was no longer his plan as his “golf game is horrible.” Wahlberg had a ticket on American Airlines Flight 11 on September 11, 2001, but his plans changed the day before and he cancelled his reservation. He received backlash after a 2012 interview where he said, “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did… there would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.” He later issued an apology after family members of the victims on the flight expressed their outrage. www.hap2it.com March 21, 2024 HAPPENINGS Page 5 Brain or Liver New research suggests that in up to 10% of cases where a patient is diagnosed with dementia, the problem is actually undetected liver disease, which can cause similar neurological symptoms, such as cognitive impairment and changes in mood and motor skills. The condition is called hepatic encephalopathy, a complication of cirrhosis. There are treatments, but there's bad news, too (in two parts). First, cirrhosis is hard to diagnose before irreversible harm has been done. Second, rates of liver disease in the U.S., including cirrhosis, are rising. Body of Knowledge Pretty much everybody has a pair of auricles or pinnae, which is plural for pinna. These are the visible portions of the outer ear, those crinkled half-moons of cartilage covered with skin that help collect sound waves and channel them into the ear canal — and sometimes serve as useful handles for redirecting misguided children. Not that we've ever heard of such a thing! Best Medicine So, you drive across town to a gym to walk on a treadmill? Hypochondriac's Guide Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome sounds fun, or at least odd. The condition itself is very much less so, involving venous malformations in which the person ends up with extremely painful, constantly bleeding lesions all over the inside and outside of the body. Observation "Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess was why several of us died of tuberculosis." — American humorist Jack Handey (1949-) Medical History This week in 1894, the first bottles of Coca-Cola were sold, concocted by John Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist who mixed a combination of lime, cinnamon, coca leaves and the seeds of a Brazilian shrub to make the famous beverage. Carbonated water was introduced later. Pemberton originally intended the beverage to be a nerve and brain tonic and a medical elixir. Perishable Publications Many, if not most, published research papers have titles that defy comprehension. They use specialized jargon, complex words and opaque phrases like "nonlinear dynamics." Sometimes they don't, and yet they're still hard to figure out. Here's an actual title of actual published research study: "When is a bologna sandwich better than sex? A defense of small-n case study evaluations." The paper, published in the Journal of Experimental Criminology, is actually about the value of limited sample sizes (small-n cases) in studying crime prevention. The title refers to a joke: Why is a bologna sandwich better than sex? Nothing is better than sex, but a bologna sandwich is better than nothing. Ig Nobel Apprised The Ig Nobel Prizes celebrate achievements that make people laugh, then think. A look at real science that's hard to take seriously, and even harder to ignore. In 1999, the Ig Nobel Prize in chemistry went to Takeshi Makino, president of the Safety Detective Agency in Osaka, Japan, for his involvement with S-Check, an infidelity detection spray that wives can apply to their husbands' underwear, though the latter may claim it's all baloney. Self-Exam Q: What is the vermillion border? A: It is the normally sharp demarcation between the lip and adjacent skin. The lips' notably more red appearance is the result of a change in epidermis from highly keratinized external skin to less keratinized. Also, lip skin is thinner, making blood vessels more apparent. Keratins are protein in epithelial cells lining the inside and outside surfaces of the body. In different amounts and forms, they create everything from skin and lips to hair and nails. Page 6 HAPPENINGS March 21, 2024 www.hap2it.com Carla Gugino says the diverse women journalists at the heart of her new political dramedy The Girls on the Bus have a lot to learn from each other. Streaming on Max, the series is executive produced by Amy Chozick and loosely inspired by her election-campaign memoir Chasing Hillary. The 10-episode show follows the road-trip adventures of Grace (Gugino), Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore), Sadie (Melissa Benoist) and Lola (Natasha Behnam) -- journalists with different reporting styles and backgrounds -- as they cover the presidential campaigns of fictional Democrat candidates. "It's a world that requires dialogue and contemplation and action and it's not reductive. I really appreciate that about it," Gugino, 52, who plays a veteran newspaper reporter, told UPI about the series in a recent Zoom interview. "When you think you have somebody's number, you end up realizing there is a lot more there," she said. "We allow characters to organically -- not in an artificial way -- see the world through another person's eyes." The entertaining series looks at important realworld media issues such as where objectivity ends and activism begins. Elmore, 36, whose Kimberlyn is a conservative cable TV journalist, said she wanted to explore the nuances of journalism as it is practiced by women from varying generations and news outlets. "The themes deepen as we go into the season," she said. "There are so many dichotomies that we are wrestling with in the show. It makes it interesting to watch and relatable." Elmore said the fact the show is premiering in the midst of a presidential election year makes it timely, but the politics aren't the main focus. "It's about family. It's about friendship. It's about the bonds between these characters," she said. "It's actually super refreshing that you can escape the news and turn on our show and see people actually come together over their politics and that their differences don't segregate, but unite them in a way. I hope people use it as a reprieve from watching the news all day." Gugino agreed. "We're in such an agitated moment in the world right now and, certainly... politics is by nature divisive and, ultimately, people are asked to take sides and it creates a lot of reactivity," she said. "It doesn't create an environment in which we can have communication and conversation," Gugino said. "Hopefully, this [show] opens up a conversation in this moment and, as Christina said, the fact that we have created this world that is very close to reality, but actually fiction, allows us to tell a lot of truths without having to liken it to any specific candidate or party." Benoist, 35, who plays a newspaper journalist who needs to believe in the people she covers, told UPI Behnam's TikTok influencer has a lot to teach the older women about how "not to be afraid to ruffle more feathers" as they inform the public. "Sadie envies that about Lola," Benoist said about her own character. "She's jealous that Lola just fights for what she believes in publicly," Benoist said, adding Sadie can likewise teach Grace and Kimberlyn how "to hold more space" and not get scooped as they play by what Sadie thinks are antiquated rules in pursuit of their stories. Like Gugino, Benoist said the show asks big questions about the role media should play in society and how people digest news. But there are no easy answers here. "What's beautiful is that they make mistakes and take accountability for the mistakes and move on. It's not the end of the world," said Behnam, 25. In this world, the line is blurred between the jobs the women have and the friendships they form. "They all have this shared, collective understanding of what they are all passionate about," Benoist said. "There is a unity in what they are all fighting for and it's to find the truth and to effectuate change and to be a part of writing history." Whether they intend to or not, they also seem incapable of finding worklife balance. "They don't got it," Behnam joked. "That's real life." Benoist added, "That's a lot of pressure to put on women to have it figured out. "From any perspective, any woman, in any phase of her life, in any season, you can't," she said. Benoist and Behnam said at the same time, laughing, "You just try your best." Behnam said this was the first time she saw someone who looks like her in the role of an independent journalist, accountable only to her huge, young online following. The actress also loved Lola's back story because it shows how she tried to make the best of a bad situation, but is doing something with no training that wasn't even her goal in the first place. "She survived this mass shooting, a trauma, way too young, which is an unfortunate, horrific reality," Behnam said. "That's where Lola got her following because she started speaking out against gun violence and that's where she got famous," she said. "Now, what we see is her grappling with, 'What do I do with this audience that I've got?'" Behnam said she was also happy her and Lola's shared Iranian heritage are included in the show. "We are one of the first Iranian American families on TV," she said. "You get to meet Lola's family. We're all Iranian actors. We speak Farsi in the show. I never saw that on my TV before, so that is a really cool element I am really excited about." By Karen Butler Cast calls 'Girls on the Bus' dramedy a unifying break from real news Left to right, Christina Elmore, Natasha Behnam, Carla Gugino and Melissa Benoist arrive on the red carpet for the premiere of Max's "The Girls On The Bus" at the DGA Theater in New York City on March 12, 2024

Page 12 HAPPENINGS March 21, 2024 www.hap2it.com The Appian Way, begun in 312 BC, was the engineering wonder of its day. It connected Rome with Capua (near Naples), ignoring natural contours and running in a straight line for much of the way. Eventually it stretched 430 miles to Brindisi – gateway to the East – where Roman ships sailed for Greece and Egypt. While our modern roads seem to sprout potholes right after they’re built, sections of this marvel of Roman engineering still exist. When I visit Rome, I get a thrill walking on the same stones as Julius Caesar or St. Peter. Huge basalt paving blocks form the sturdy base of this roadway. In its heyday, a central strip accommodated animal-powered vehicles, and elevated sidewalks served pedestrians. Fortunately, about the first 10 miles of the Appian Way is preserved as a regional park (Parco dell’Appia Antica, www.parcoappiaantica.it). In addition to the roadway, there are ruined Roman monuments, two major Christian catacombs, and a church marking the spot where Peter had a vision of Jesus. Getting here from the center of Rome is easy by taxi, Metro, or bus. It’s best to come on a Sunday or holiday, when the whole park is closed to car traffic, and it becomes Rome’s biggest pedestrian zone. You can rent bicycles at the Appia Antica Service Center (which also serves as a visitor information resource for the whole park) – though some find the old paving stones too bumpy for biking. As you stroll or bike along the road, you’ll see tombs of ancient big shots that line the way like billboards. While pagans didn’t enjoy the promise of salvation, those who could afford it purchased a kind of immortality by building themselves big and glitzy memorials. One of the best preserved is the Tomb of Cecilia Metella, built for the daughter-inlaw of Rome’s richest man. It’s a massive cylindrical tomb situated on the crest of a hill. While it dates from the first century BC, we still remember her today … so apparently the investment paid off. But of course, early Christians didn’t have that kind of money. So they buried their dead in mass underground necropolises – catacombs – dug under the property of the few fellow Christians who owned land. These catacombs are scattered all around Rome just outside its ancient walls, including two inside this park. The tomb-lined tunnels of the catacombs stretch for miles and are many layers deep. Many of the first Christians buried here were later recognized as martyrs and saints. Others carved out niches nearby to bury their loved ones close to these early Christian heroes. While the bones are long gone, symbolic carvings decorate the walls: the fish stood for Jesus, the anchor was a camouflaged cross, and the phoenix with a halo symbolized the resurrection. On your way back to the city center, stop by the Domine Quo Vadis Church. This tiny ninthcentury church (redone in the 17th century) was built on the spot where Peter, while fleeing the city to escape Nero’s persecution, saw a vision of Christ. Peter asked Jesus, “Lord, where are you going?” (“Domine quo vadis?” in Latin), to which Christ replied, “I am going to Rome to be crucified again.” This miraculous sign gave Peter faith and courage, causing him to return to Rome. By Rick Steves Rome's ancient superhighway travel A stroll on Rome's ancient Appian Way is a kind of time travel. Adding attractions like movie theaters and interactive art installations, airports in locations like Dubai, Singapore and Qatar are becoming destinations of their own. It's common these days for airports to double as shopping malls, featuring food stalls and retail outlets. Of the hundreds of airports spread across the globe, many have invested significant time and money revamping their buildings, adding amenities, experiences and art to draw in and retain customers. Recently, a study from All Clear Travel Insurance analyzed almost 2,000 airports, highlighting amenities like designer shops, high-end hotels and passenger lounges that boast champagne bars, caviar houses and rooftop pools. The experts at Travel Noire also gathered a list of the world's most luxurious airports. Here are their findings. Dubai International Airport in United Arab Emirates Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates is considered the most luxurious airport in the world thanks to its inhouse 5-star hotel, zen gardens, gym, outdoor swimming pool and collection of cinemas. Hamad International Airport in Qatar Most airports only offer a large, plate glass window view of the city they occupy. Formerly known as Doha International Airport, Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, has re-envisioned that experience. It has teamed up with the country's tourism department to offer expert-guided tours of Doha or a desert adventure taking in the Inland Sea. Incheon International Airport in South Korea The largest airport in South Korea, Incheon doubles as a shopping mecca, featuring the world's largest duty-free shopping center. Part amusement park and part shopping mall, Incheon boasts a movie theater, a casino, golf course, ice skating rink and an inhouse Korean Culture Museum. Those looking to relax ahead of their flight have dozens of options in terms of spas, lounges and garden areas. Zurich Airport in Switzerland Considered one of the healthiest airports by some, Zurich Airport in Switzerland has an airy, open design, state-of-the-art fitness center and a unique feature to allow visitors to rent roller blades or bikes to travel around on. The airport's Observation Deck, which features a bird's eye view of planes taking off, includes a large playground. Changi Airport in Singapore While the Changi Airport has become known for its Rain Vortex, the world's tallest indoor waterfall, it includes dozens of other attractions including mazes, slides, gardens, water features and play areas. Jewel, the newest terminal at the Changi Airport, in addition to housing new shopping options and the famed Rain Vortex, has a huge collection of art, from wall murals to metamorphosing ceiling pieces, to the popular Kinetic Rain, made up of more than 1000 bronze droplets that cohesively contorts into abstract patterns. Page 14 HAPPENINGS March 21, 2024 www.hap2it.com $3 million lottery ticket spent 5 weeks in oblivious winner's nightstand A Virginia woman found a forgotten Mega Millions ticket in her nightstand and discovered the weeks-old ticket was a $3 million winner. Melena Hill of Portsmouth told Virginia Lottery officials the Mega Millions ticket was in her nightstand for five weeks after the Jan. 9 drawing. Hill rediscovered the ticket and was stunned to discover it had matched the first five numbers from the drawing, earning a $1 million prize that was increased to $3 million when she spent an extra $1 for the Megaplier option. "My stomach had butterflies. I screamed a little bit," Hill recalled. Hill did not say whether she has any immediate plans for her winnings. Studies find no brain injury in 'Havana syndrome' patients Severe symptoms from the mysterious "Havana syndrome," suffered by U.S. diplomats and military personnel overseas, show no evidence of having caused brain injury or biological abnormalities, the National Institutes of Health announced. Researchers used advanced imaging techniques, including MRIs, to examine federal employees stationed in Havana and other parts of the world, who had complained of anomalous health incidents -- or AHIs -- involving odd sounds and head pressure followed by dizziness, headache and cognitive dysfunction. The first symptoms, which were consistent with head trauma, were reported in 2016 by a number of diplomats who were stationed in Havana. Since then, cases have been reported from around the world, including in Bogota, Colombia and Vienna, Austria. Regardless of weight, Zepbound helps obese people shed pounds Blockbuster weight-loss medication Zepbound (tirzepatide) appears to help folks quickly shed pounds regardless of how overweight they are, or how long they've lived being overweight or obese. Those are the findings of two separate analyses of a major trial of the injected drug that was funded by maker Eli Lilly. "Regardless of baseline BMI, tirzepatide consistently reduced body weight versus placebo in people with obesity," said study colead author Dr. Louis Aronne. He directs the Comprehensive Weight Control Center at NewYorkPresbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Man vows to regain 750-pound, 11-foot gator removed from his home A man whose 11-foot, 750- pound pet alligator was removed by conservation officials from his home in upstate New York this week has vowed to regain custody of his beloved pet. Tony Cavallaro of Hamburg, N.Y., had added an inground swimming pool to allow his gator "Albert" to swim and cool off while illegally keeping him in his back yard. The alligator is about 30 years old, is blind in both eyes, and has spinal issues. Cavallaro previously had a permit to keep the gator, but did not renew it after it expired in 2021. The lack of a permit, the access given to visitors and the alligator's health caused the DEC to remove Albert "in the interest of public safety and the health, safety and protection of the alligator," the agency said. Cavallaro said in an online petition seeking to regain Albert that he was treated "like a terrorist" when officers removed him and hauled him away in a truck. He claimed he owned Albert for more than 30 years and normally renewed his permit for the alligator months before its expiration date, but revised regulations and the failure of the DEC to return his phone calls seeking answers to questions regarding them led to the permit's expiration in 2021. Ben Platt to launch Broadway concert residency ahead of new album Ben Platt is headed to Broadway. The 30-year-old singer and actor announced a concert residency at The Palace on Broadway. Platt will perform songs from his forthcoming album, Honeymind, and other hits. The three-week show begins May 28 and runs through June 15. Tickets are available now. "Like my foremothers Liza and Judy before me, it is far beyond my wildest imagination to announce that I'll be playing a 3-week concert residency at The Palace on Broadway," Platt wrote, referencing actresses Liza Minnelli and Judy Garland. "I feel perpetually blessed to be part of the theatre community, and to have the opportunity to perform as myself and from my own perspective in this newly reopened, storied Broadway house is one of the greatest honors of my life," he added. "I can't wait to introduce my new record Honeymind on the beautifully revived stage, along with some other songs and surprises." Platt announced his album Honeymind and released a first song, "Andrew," last week. Platt said the name "honeymind" is inspired by his love for his husband, singer and actor Noah Galvin. Honeymind is slated for release May 31. The album will be Platt's first since Reverie, released in August 2021. coast to coast Mother sentenced to life in prison for death of toddler left home alone An Ohio mother, whose 16- month-old daughter died after she left her home alone for more than a week while she vacationed, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Brendan Sheehan called it "the ultimate act of betrayal," as he sentenced Kristel Candelario. "Just as you didn't let Jailyn out of her confinement, so too you should spend the rest of your life in a cell without freedom," Sheehan said. Candelario, 32, pleaded guilty last month to aggravated murder and endangering a child, in connection with Jailyn's death. Candelario left the child alone at her Cleveland home on June 6 to vacation in Puerto Rico and Michigan, as she posted photographs on the beach and with friends. She did not return home until June 16, when she found her daughter unresponsive and called police, who pronounced the toddler dead. Investigators said while there was no sign of trauma, the toddler was found in a Pack-N-Play pen on a liner soiled with urine and feces. An autopsy revealed that Jailyn died of starvation and severe dehydration due to pediatric neglect. While Candelario's defense attorney, Derek Smith, made no excuse for her actions, calling them "narcissistic, selfish, abhorrent and absolutely the worst parenting imaginable," he said Candelario was overwhelmed as a single mother of two children. "I am not trying to justify my actions, but nobody knew how much I was suffering and what I was going through." Kristel Candelario Ben Platt Melena Hill

The studio shared a trailer for the movie featuring Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs. The Crowis based on the James O'Barr comic book series. The film is the fifth installment in The Crow film series and a remake of the 1994 film starring late actor Brandon Lee. "Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right," an official synopsis reads. The Crow is directed byRupert Sanders(Snow White and the Huntsman), who "wanted to completely reimagine the story and the character and tailor it toward a modern audience," according to Skarsgård. "It's a character that I know many revere and have a strong connection to -- he is unlike any I've ever taken on before," Skarsgård said in a statement. "Working with the remarkably talented FKA twigs was magical. I felt a responsibility to Eric's story and endeavored to stay true to the spirit of the source material; I can't wait for the world to see the film and hope it resonates with audiences as strongly as it did with those of us involved." The Crow is coming soon to theaters. Neve Campbell back for 'Scream 7'; Kevin Williamson directing Neve Campell announced she will return forScream 7,posting a photo of her script on Instagram. Along with the photo, Campbell revealed Scream creator Kevin Williamson will direct the script from Guy Busick. "I've dreamt for many years of how amazing it would be to make one of these movies with Kevin Williamson at the helm!" Campbell wrote. "This was his baby and it's his brilliant mind that dreamt up this world." Campbell played Sidney Prescott in the first five horror films. She declined an offer for Scream VI, tellingPeoplethe offer was below fair market for a franchise star in a sixth installment. "I honestly don't believe that if I were a man and had done five installments of a huge blockbuster franchise over 25 years, that the number that I was offered would be the number that would be offered to a man," she said at the time. ForScream 7, Campbell writes, "I've been asked, in the most respectful way, to bring Sidney back to the screen." Christopher Landon was originally hired to direct the seventh Scream. During development, Scream (2022) and Scream VI star Melissa Barrera was fired by Spyglass Entertainment for comments about the Israel-Hamaswar. Star Jenna Ortega had quietly left the seventh film, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts, prior to Barrera. CANCER (June 21-July 22): A call for help can give you a chance to apply practical skills. A loved one or partner could give you some sound business or career advice, take notes and use this new knowledge where it can do some good. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): Find or create a peaceful space where you can reflect and process in silence. This could be a good time to take an interest in a healthier lifestyle. Consider what could use improvement and implement better self-care. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Get involved with an activity or hobby that can be truly satisfying on a personal level. You may feel a time crunch because of outside pressures but try to make time for things that make your soul happy. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Things don’t always improve in a straight line. There can be hiccups, plot twists, and cliffhangers before you see real, sustained upward movement. You have to be persistent with your creation to reap the benefits. SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Enjoy relaxing with creative ideas, but being inspired can build something, too. You may believe you are spinning your wheels, but once you gain traction those wheels can help you travel somewhere worthwhile. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Love at first sight is usually projection at first sight. And it doesn’t have to be love, projection happens in all parts of life. It can get awkward as fantasy projections dissolve. Keep your eyes open for the real-real. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19):The time may be ripe to reevaluate your financial situation and focus more on, or tweak, money-making activities. You might be wiser than usual about the ways of the world so remain alert for opportunities to expand. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Your passions could be stirred. Prepare to set the wheels in motion so that you can accomplish something near and dear to your heart. Once you resolve to conquer the heights the universe can kick in to help you. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Be your unique, authentic self and you’ll attract your tribe. Instead of conformity, think about the things that you need, you value, and you are comfortable with. Partners and friends should be able to meet you there. To have to experience this and not be able to have the time to just sit with Ian's choice, which I respect and understand, that he didn't want to be here anymore. That's a hard thing for other people to receive, because they did not live our experience, did not live Ian's journey. I was so angry with God. Why would that weight be given to Ian? All of the things that we had gone through, with the therapy, psychiatrists, programs. Ian was like, 'I'm tired of talking, Mom.'" On Good Morning America, 53-year-old actress Regina King shares the grief she has experience in the two years since her son’s death. King’s son Ian Alexander Jr. died by suicide. The past couple of years, this pandemic sh*t, it really had people experience time… People realize their time is valuable. You only get so much. I’m not interested in doing anything that’s going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy. It just has to be the right thing, and I think it could be. Lando is definitely somebody I like to hang out with.” In an interview with GQ magazine, actor Donald Glover reveals that he will reprise his Star Wars character of Lando Calrissian in a movie centering on the character. Billy Dee Williams originally portrayed the character in “The Empire Strikes Back” (1980) and “Return of the Jedi” (1983), while Glover resurrected the character to critical acclaim in the 2018 film “Solo.” "In my lifetime, I never dreamed we would be talking about medicines that would be providing hope to people, like me, who have struggled for years with being overweight or with obesity.
