Page 4 HAPPENINGS March 23, 2023 www.hap2it.com Station 19, Greenleaf and The Flight Attendant actress Merle Dandridge says the Marlene she plays in The Last of Us liveaction series is a more mature and deeply developed version of the freedom fighter she depicted in the beloved video game. "One of the gifts this process has offered me is 10 years of getting to know her. My imagination -- which was already running rampant -- is running even more wild [regarding] how she got to where she is, what built this stalwart woman that we know," Dandridge, the only artist to play the same character in both the game and the series, told reporters in a recent Zoom interview. "I've had the opportunity of maturing as an artist and maturing in the physical, so that I was even more appropriate to play her in front of the camera." Marlene is the leader of the Fireflies, a resistance group that challenges the authoritarian government in the postapocalyptic world of The Last of Us. The video game premiered in 2013 and the HBO version, which concluded its first season, has already been renewed for Season 2. The story is set 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed by a mutated fungus that turns people into monstrous cannibals. In Boston, Marlene enlists smuggler Joel (Pedro Pascal) to escort teen Ellie (Bella Ramsey) -- who might be the key to a cure -- out of an oppressive quarantine zone and across the United States to a research facility. Created by Chernobyl filmmaker Craig Mazin and writer/video game developer Neil Druckmann, the show costars Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Melanie Lynskey and Storm Reid. "The truth of the scenes was like riding a bike because I know her. I know her so well and I know what she would do and I know how she would act," Dandridge said. "I didn't tether myself to my old ways of imagining her. If you try to chase something, if you try to walk in the truth of something and sentimentality you'll kill the inspiration on the vine." The actress said this meant keeping an open mind when different actors were charged with bringing "their own brand of magic to those characters" in the TV series, as opposed to the video game. "It was a gift to me to be able to breathe Joel and Ellie in a fresh way," she added. Although Marlene, like most of the other people on the show, has lost her loved ones, career and worldly possessions in this dystopian hellscape, she remains hopeful. "Her personal pain had become her testimony and that beacon and that light through which she marches forward and must continue to remind people of who they were," Dandridge said. "Leading the Fireflies and the resistance against the FEDRA regime is important to her at great risk to her personal comfort. It's a sacrifice." The game was created long before the coronavirus virus pandemic, but some of the social issues that arose during it, such as the closures of schools and businesses, restrictions of travel and debate over freedom vs. safety, might seem familiar to those watching The Last of Us series. Dandridge said that while the show might help people process or reconsider big questions they are grappling with in real life, she personally tried to separate the pandemic in the series from the one that turned the real world upside-down 2020-22. "My own personal feelings, traumas and experiences surrounding our pandemic informed Merle differently than this one informs Marlene -- the violence with which things were ripped from Marlene and the choices that she made to be very loud," Dandridge said. "The other big factor is that we had an end in sight [with the coronavirus]. We had hopeful or actual, tangible evidence that this was going to have some kind of long-term stasis and, in the world of The Last of Us, there is no hope of that. There is no knowledge of it. There is only more. More and broaderinfecting." All nine episodes of “The Last of Us” are now streaming on HBOMax By Karen Butler 'Last of Us' icon Merle Dandridge didn't tether herself to old ways of imagining Marlene Born May 31, 1975 (age 47) Okinawa, Japan Dandridge was born a military kid whose mother is half Japanese and half Korean and father is African American. At a young age, she moved to the US when her father was transferred to California before settling at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska. While attending high school in Nebraska, Dandridge became active in the theatre department and went on to attend the Chicago College of Performing Arts. As she began a career in Chicago theatre productions, Dandridge gained a wider audience with voice-over work for video games, beginning with the voice of Alyx Vance in the award-winning game “Half Life 2” and its sequels as well as Marlene in the original “The Last of Us” video game in 2013. Her career grew to television with a recurring role on “Sons of Anarchy” as Rita, and a main cast member of ABC’s “Station 19,” the “Murphy Brown” revival and the HBO thriller “The Flight Attendant.” Merle Dandridge co-stars as Marlene in “The Last of Us,” Season 1 now streaming on HBOMax FYI Merle Dandridge FYI The Last of Us video game The Last of Us was released for thePlayStation 3in June 2013. Page 6 HAPPENINGS March 23, 2023 www.hap2it.com Emmy-winning actor Jason Sudeikis says more pressure existed going into Season 3 of Ted Lasso because this was the first time the cast and crew were keenly aware of audience expectations while they were filming the sports dramedy. "The first one was made in the bubble of it not existing and being this invisible thing. Then, even by the time we were shooting the second season, we had already written it without knowing the reception of it," Sudeikis, the show's star and co-creator, told reporters in a recent Zoom press conference. With new episodes dropping every Wednesday on Apple TV+, Season 3 was about "keeping the bar at the level we'd had for ourselves the first two years and just trying to clear that by the skin of our buns," Sudeikis said. Co-starring Hannah Waddingham, Nick Mohammed, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Anthony Head, the show follows the titular American college football coach who unexpectedly reinvigorates the British soccer team he takes over as he deals with his own personal and professional challenges. "It is very funny in places and very serious and very sad," Goldstein said about the tone for the show's final 12 episodes. Hunt added: "There are people who love each other. There are people who apologize. People who kick a ball around. Everything. Everything we did before is back, but in different shapes." Looking back over the last three years, Sudeikis said he still is surprised that they were allowed to tell this story, which has expanded and evolved over the years. "There are certain elements of the journey that are preplanned, but you never know how something is going to go," he said, adding that Season 1 could have "bitten the dust," leaving the story and characters in very different places than they will now. Bringing in new people to write and act in the show in the subsequent seasons took it in directions Sudeikis said he couldn't have imagined. "You get the lovely agitation of other people's ideas and the way people view the material, and then you cast folks in it, and the invisible becomes invisible and they start to feel ownership over it," Sudeikis said. "You just start to drink up how they are or what you love seeing them do," he said. "All those things -- the fact that it has harmonized so well within the endeavor of production has been a wonderful surprise, but one that I like to think we were kind of manifesting and were hoping for." Waddingham said she was eager to explore Rebecca Welton's enthusiastic support of the team she owns in Season 3. "I was able to lean into being the figurehead of it and when you see how Season 3 unfolds, I couldn't have asked for anything more. I wouldn't tell them to their faces that they gave me everything I wanted, but they did," she said. "In Season 2, she was head-down and introverted a bit," the actress added. "We see 'feisty Welton' coming out a little bit, which I love. It was very satisfying." Waddingham said she appreciates that the show's writers' room is "staunchly feminist" and crafted complex characters for her and Juno Temple to play in a cast and story populated largely by men. "You feel it all the time," Waddingham said. "It's made me realize how much in other things I've constantly been fighting for the woman's voice to be heard, whether it's my age group -- mid-40s -- or Juno's age group as Keeley in her 30s. We are both fed beautifully." Sudeikis credited the show's success, in part, to the fact it offered hope and heart when it was released in August 2020 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, when many people were depressed and stuck in their homes. "I would have preferred that people could have gone on date nights and kids could have gone to school and played with their friends, but if we helped folks through that weird, odd, and in some cases still ongoing time, I'm very very happy to have obliged," he said. Being able to shoot the second season after lockdowns and travel restrictions were relaxed made the cast and crew feel as close to normal as possible at that time. "It was thrilling and healing," he said, adding fans shouldn't feel it's necessary to say, "I know you hear this a lot. ..." before telling the show's stars how much they connected to it and how grateful they were for the laughs during such a difficult time. "We do [hear it a lot], but also it doesn't mean it doesn't matter," Sudeikis said. "It is still warming and flattering." www.hap2it.com March 23, 2023 HAPPENINGS Page 7 Mont St-Michel: Normandy’s magnificent island abbey Ilove to scamper, at low tide, shoes in my hands, far from shore, across the mudflat in the vast Bay of Mont St-Michel. Splashing across black sand and through little puddles, I head for a dramatic abbey reaching to heaven from a rock surrounded by a vast and muddy solitude. Since the sixth century, hermit monks in search of that solitude lived here. Location, location, location. The word “hermit” comes from an ancient Greek word meaning “desert.” The next best thing to a desert in this part of Europe was here. Imagine the “desert” this bay provided as the first monk climbed the rock to get close to God. Mix in the mythic tide, which sends the surf speeding eight miles in and out with each tide cycle. Back then, before a causeway and later a bridge was built, Mont St-Michel was an island. Pilgrims would approach across this mudflat mindful of a tide that swept in “at the speed of a galloping horse” (well, maybe a trotting horse …12 mph, or about 17 feet per second). Quicksand, the thoroughly disorienting fog, and the fact that the sea can encircle unwary hikers added to the peril. Braving these devilish risks for centuries, pilgrims kept their eyes on the spire crowned by their protector, St. Michael, and eventually reached their spiritual goal. Whether scampering across the treacherous mudflats or riding a shuttle bus across the modern bridge, the sight of the distant silhouette of the Gothic islandabbey Mont St-Michel sends tired sightseers’ spirits soaring today just as it did the spirits of weary pilgrims in centuries past. Though a dreamscape from a distance, through the midday Mont St-Michel becomes grotesquely touristic. In summer, Mont St-Michel’s main street, lined with shops and hotels leading to the abbey, can be a human traffic jam. It’s some consolation to remember that, even in the Middle Ages, this was a commercial gauntlet, with stalls selling souvenir medallions, candles, and fast food. Today, the village’s seven full-time residents continue to live solely for its visitors. While on Mont St-Michel, indulge in some local culinary treats: mussels, seafood platters, lamb (fed on the local saltwater grass), and inexpensive Muscadet wine. Puffy omelets are the island’s specialty. For touristy fun, poke your head into Restaurant La Mère Poulard on the main drag. In their theater-kitchen, old-timecostumed cooks beat traditional omelets – creating a fun rhythm that can be heard many doors away. The quick omelets were popular for pilgrims who, before the island was connected to the mainland, needed to beat the tide to get out. And – even at today’s rip-off prices – they’re still a hit with 21st-century tourists. The actual abbey of Mont StMichel is the reason to visit. It’s been an important pilgrimage center since AD 708, when (according to legend) the Archangel Michael told the local bishop to “build here and build high.” With uncanny foresight he reassured the bishop, “If you build it … they will come.” Saint Michael, whose gilded statue decorates the top of the abbey’s spire, was the patron saint of many French kings, making this a favored sight for French royalty through the ages. Today’s abbey is built on the remains of a Romanesque church, which was built on the ruins of a ninth-century Carolingian church. Visiting the abbey, imagine the headaches and hassles the monks had when they built it. They ferried granite from across the bay and hiked it uphill. A walk in the abbey is a oneway route through fine – but barren – Gothic rooms. A rented audio guide or English-language tour make this historic sight more meaningful. Visitors may explore the impressive church, delicate cloisters, and refectory (where the monks ate in austere silence), and then climb down into the dark, damp Romanesque foundations. A highlight is the giant treadwheel, which six workers once powered hamster-style to haul two-ton loads of stones and supplies from the landing below. This was used until the 19th century. From the abbey’s veranda, survey the bay stretching from Normandy to Brittany. The river below marks the historic border between the two lands. Brittany and Normandy have long vied for Mont St-Michel. In fact, the river used to pass Mont St-Michel on the other side, making the abbey part of Brittany. Today, the river’s route is stable and the abbey is just barely – but thoroughly – on Norman soil. Hang out until after dark when the tourists are gone and the island is magically floodlit. Ramble on the ramparts. Ponder the promise of desolation and a simple life of solitude that attracted monks to this dramatic spot so long ago. Page 10 HAPPENINGS March 23, 2023 www.hap2it.com Justin Bieber smiles in Instagram update on facial paralysis Justin Bieber shared an update on the facial paralysis he has experienced as a result of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which the Canadian singer revealed he was diagnosed with in June. The diagnosis caused Bieber to cancel the remainder of his Justice World Tour in 2022. In a video posted to Instagram, Bieber points to his face, moves his eyebrows and finally smiles. The video, which is captioned "wait for it," doesn't include additional information but suggests Bieber's condition is improving. Ramsay Hunt syndrome is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox, which stays in nerves after chickenpox has cleared up. In some cases the virus eventually attacks facial nerves near the ear, causing hearing loss and facial paralysis. Man wins $150,000 twice in the same Powerball drawing A Virginia man who bought 10 tickets for a recent Powerball drawing ended up winning $150,000 -- twice. Ben Baker told Virginia Lottery officials he bought 10 tickets bearing various number combinations for the March 4 Powerball drawing. Baker discovered after the drawing that two of his tickets matched four winning numbers plus the Powerball number. Baker had paid an extra dollar on each ticket for the Power Play option, which tripled what would have been a pair of $50,000 prizes into $150,000 each. "I was really lucky," he told officials when he visited Virginia Lottery headquarters to accept his $300,000 prize. Baker said his winnings will go toward home improvement projects and boosting his savings. LA neighborhood flooded with mystery Uber Eats deliveries Residents of a Los Angeles neighborhood said they have been flooded with mystery Uber Eats deliveries they did not request. Locals in Highland Park neighborhood said they have been receiving up to 13 deliveries a day from McDonald's, Taco Bell, Starbucks and other eateries through Uber Eats during the past three weeks. The residents said the deliveries show up at all hours of the day and night. "When it became too much food at once, we'd try to find places to donate it or give it away," local man William Neal told KTLA-TV. Some of the recipients said they tried calling the phone numbers listed on the orders, but they were all out of service. They noted the pre-paid orders always included a tip for the driver. A representative for Uber, the delivery service's parent company, said officials are investigating the origins of the mystery orders. Neighbors said they do not know why someone would be sending so much food to their homes. Delirium after surgery linked to faster mental decline in older adults Older adults often develop delirium after surgery, and new research finds this is associated with a faster rate of mental decline. The study highlights the importance of preventing delirium to preserve brain health in older adults who undergo surgery, according to the authors. "Whether delirium causes this faster rate of decline, or is simply a marker of those who are at risk of experiencing faster rates of decline, is still to be determined," co-author Zachary Kunicki said in a news release from the Marcus Institute for Aging Research, in Boston. Kunicki is an assistant professor in the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, in Providence, R.I. The investigators found a 40% faster rate of cognitive (mental) decline in those who developed delirium compared to those who did not. For the study, the researchers followed 560 adults, aged 70 and older, measuring their cognition (or mental status) every six months for 36 months, then annually afterwards for up to six years. Using a combination of 11 cognitive tests, the investigators found mental changes after surgery are complex and that delirium influences every time point. Having delirium was associated with a sharper drop in mental skills at one month, greater recovery at two months and then faster decline in all time periods from six months to six years. These results suggest that delirium may contribute to cognitive decline after surgery. It's also possible that delirium simply identifies those at risk for future more rapid cognitive decline, the researchers suggested. Camera found after 13 years in river, photos recovered Spencer Greiner said he was fishing recently in the Animas River when he spotted a camera at the bottom of the shallow water. "I was walking along and saw it sticking out of the sand," Greiner told KDVR-TV. "It was in rough shape, so I really didn't have any hopes of getting anything off of it, I was just planning to throw it away, and then curiosity got the best of me, and I had to see what was on it." He discovered the phone was loaded with photos of a bachelorette party, a wedding and a tubing trip. Greiner posted some of the photos to a Durango community Facebook group, where members started recognizing themselves in the pictures. The camera turned out to have been dropped by Coral Amayi during a 2010 tubing trip on the river. coast to coast Ticketmaster fees thwarted The Cure's attempt to cut ticket prices British-based rock band The Cure wanted to keep ticket prices low for their upcoming U.S. tour, so they set them at $20. Unfortunately for fans wanting tickets, Ticketmaster fees wiped out that plan. Frontman Robert Smith expressed his dissatisfaction with the fees on Twitter, writing, "I am as sickened as you all are by today's Ticketmaster 'Fees' debacle. To be very clear: The artist has no way to limit them. "I have been asking how they are justified. If I get anything coherent by way of an answer I will let you all know." Fans responding to Smith also detailed technical difficulties that limited their ability to buy tickets and they cited price points higher than the $20 The Cure promised. Smith also said that to prevent price gouging, the band would not participate in Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing and "platinum ticket" designations. In a tweet, Smith referred to it as a "greedy scam." The band said they would also use the company's "verified fan" tool to make sure tickets stayed out of scalpers' hands. Fans responded to Smith's post, showing screenshots of tickets inflated from the original $20 with various fees of more than $20 per ticket. In response, Ticketmaster has agreed to give $10 refunds of service fees to fans who bought $20 seats for the British band's upcoming U.S. tour. Smith announcedthat after a conversation with Ticketmaster executives, the original $20 ticket price would be honored. Verified fans who paid additional fees would be refunded. "After further conversation," Smith said, "Ticketmaster have agreed with us that many of the fees being charged are unduly high and as a gesture of goodwill, have offered $10 per ticket refund to all verified fan accounts for lowest ticket price (LTP) transactions." The breed best known for having a heart of gold has been replaced by the smaller, more urban-friendly French Bulldog. According to the American Kennel Club, for the past 31 years, the Labrador Retriever was America’s favorite dog, but it was eclipsed in 2022 by the Frenchie. The rankings are based on nearly 716,500 dogs newly registered in 2022, of which about 1 in 7 were Frenchies. Around 108,000 French Bulldogs were recorded in the U.S. in 2022, surpassing Labrador Retrievers by over 21,000. The French Bulldog’s popularity has grown exponentially over the past decade. They were the #14 most popular breed in 2012, and since then, registrations have gone up 1,000%, bringing them to the top of the breed popularity rankings. The French Bulldog was famous among America’s upper class around the turn of the 20th century but then fell out of favor. Their resurgence is partly based on several celebrities who have gone public with their Frenchie love. Leonardo DiCaprio, Megan Thee Stallion, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Reese Witherspoon and Lady Gaga all own French Bulldogs. 1. French Bulldogs 2. Labrador Retrievers 3. Golden Retrievers 4. Page 18 HAPPENINGS March 23, 2023 www.hap2it.com Supervised exercise called better than drugs for common type of heart failure Supervised exercise like walking, stationary cycling and even dancing about three times per week was more effective than drugs in helping people with symptoms of one of the most common types of heart failure, according to a new scientific statement. The statement summarizes the results of a review of studies by experts at the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. It was published Tuesday in the journal Circulation and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. One of the key findings was that exercise therapy had comparable or better results in improving exercise capacity for people with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction compared to those who have heart failure with reduced EF. Stable heart failure with preserved ejection fraction "occurs when the heart is stiff and does not relax normally to fill with enough blood to pump to the body, yet the heart muscle is still strong enough to pump well," according to a news release from the American Heart Association. "In comparison, heart failure with reduced ejection fraction occurs when the left ventricle can't pump with the force needed to push enough blood into circulation," the release noted. The studies that were examined looked at numerous types of exercise, from walking, stationary cycling, high-intensity interval training, strength training and dancing in facility settings and home-based training. The statement characterized supervised exercise therapy as being conducted three times per week, and the duration of the programs varied from one month to eight months. Treatments for heart failure are focused on reducing symptoms, such as shortness of breath and fatigue, along with minimizing or delaying the consequences of the condition. Those can include decreased quality of life, frequent hospitalizations, loss of functional independence, high health care costs and increased risk of death. "The prevalence of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction continues to increase due to aging of the population and the growing prevalence of risk factors such as obesity and Type 2 diabetes," said Dr. Vandana Sachdev, chair of the scientific statement writing committee. "Improved management of this large population of patients who have [heart failure with preserved ejection], many of whom may be undertreated, represents an urgent unmet need." The statement said heart failure with preserved ejection fraction impacts women more than men. "Exercising helps improve the heart's pumping ability, decreases blood vessel stiffness and improves the function and energy capacity of skeletal muscle," Sachdev said. "Exercise capacity is an independent, clinically meaningful patient outcome, and research has indicated that guided exercise therapy is actually more effective at improving quality of life for people who have [heart failure with preserved ejection fraction] than most medications." The report's writing committee closely examined research published since 2010 to assess the most current data on the impact of exercise-based therapies for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. It found that supervised exercise training may lead to increased peak oxygen uptake 12 to 14%, increased total exercise time by 21% and improved quality-of-life scores on the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure questionnaire 4 to 9 points. The report also acknowledges the variations in the baseline characteristics of people in the trials reviewed with some excluding patients with some coexisting health conditions. Also, many groups of people in whom heart failure is prevalent -- such as older adults, women, persons with low socioeconomic status and people from diverse racial and ethnic groups -- were under-represented. "Future work is needed to improve referral of appropriate patients to supervised exercise programs, and better strategies to improve long-term adherence to exercise training is needed," Sachdev said. "Hybrid programs combining supervised and home-based training may also be beneficial. Further, implementation efforts will need to include coverage by Medicare and other insurers." Earlier this month, a University of Cambridge study suggested that brisk 11-minute daily walks can be enough to lower a person's risk of heart disease, stroke and cancer. Scandinavian researchers found that eating nuts could reduce the risk of a heart attack. "If you eat a handful of nuts every day, that is around 30 grams, you will have a 20% to 25% lower risk of suffering from cardiovascular disease. In comparison, adults in the Nordic countries only eat on average around 4 grams of nuts a day. Many do not eat nuts or seeds at all," said study co-author Erik Arnesen, research fellow at the University of Oslo. Although scientists say, "the more the better," eating just a few nuts is better than none at all, Arnesen said in a university news release. Almonds, pistachios and walnuts appeared to be the best for lowering cholesterol. However, researchers said there is no conclusive evidence for recommending specific kinds of nuts over others. "Nuts have a beneficial effect on cholesterol l l i h bl d hi h i i k low in order to prevent the buildup of fat in the arteries. This atherosclerosis, as it is called, is one of the greatest risk factors for heart attacks," Arnesen explained. The review involved nearly 2 million participants. Although researchers also investigated whether eating nuts reduced the risk of strokes and Type 2 diabetes, the results were not as clear. Nuts do not appear to affect blood pressure, Arnesen said. Researchers could not determine whether they affect blood sugar. But eating nuts is linked to improved cholesterol levels, even though the review can't ll d ff "Thanks to this systematic review and metaanalysis, we can present a more precise estimate of the actual effects. Proving that nuts lower cholesterol levels provides a credible explanation for why there is a connection between eating nuts and the risk of cardiovascular disease," Arnesen said. It may be that the composition of fatty acids in nuts is beneficial for this. "Even though nuts cannot be used to treat high cholesterol, we believe that the effect is significant enough to be used as a preventive measure amongst the general population," Arnesen said. health & wellness

Try to be more efficient in the upcoming week. Your charm can make a big impression on someone who could become an ally but wait a few more days to make a solid commitment. TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Be mindful when exploring your more imaginative ideas this week. Life may offer you something that makes "be careful what you wish for" feel more meaningful. Avoid putting aside obligations or ignoring assigned tasks. GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Misunderstandings could put a damper on possible social plans. Wait until tomorrow to discuss arrangements with loved ones or to develop business strategies with others. Your diligence can make short work of any tasks on your day planner. CANCER (June 21-July 22): Mistakes may distort the big picture. You might see someone through rose-colored glasses but should remember that hindsight is twenty-twenty. You may need to get to know someone better before you put your money, or your heart, in their hands. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): The universe is always watching, lucky for you that your integrity keeps you on the high road. Think things through carefully because an error could create more work later. A loved one may be preoccupied and seem unsympathetic to your problems. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Requests for sympathy may make you feel uncomfortable. Some of your crew may be acting vague and hard to pin down. You may see how you could have handled a business or financial matter differently later in the week. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): The week ahead may bring you face to face with your most important ambitions. Be willing to work hard to obtain the financial security you crave. You and a loved one may tackle a problem from opposite points of view. SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Someone could twist you around their little finger. Romance might be on your mind and it could make you want to put your ambitions on the back-burner. You might not see what is happening unless you read between the lines. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): This could be the type of day when you feel like tackling more productive tasks over creative projects. Avoid spats with loved ones; if single, take a rain check on possible blind dates. Focus on making money rather than spending it this week. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): You can be successful because you are honest and forthright. Competitive people could take unethical paths to take the lead away from others. Use your warmth and friendliness to bring people together for mutual enjoyment. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): The harder you work, the more you may accomplish. You might be burning the candle at both ends before the week is done. Climb the ladder of success by being diligent, persistent and astute to eventually achieve your goals. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Try to be more flexible so you do not end up stuck in a holding pattern. You may end up flustered if you only focus on the idea of how things are supposed to be. You cannot alter the past, but you can learn from it and do better in the future. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Make sure to make time so you can get adequate rest. You can become worn down if you overwork yourself. Although some people may appreciate your businesslike manner, a seeming lack of sensitivity can create misunderstandings.
