Valeo’s Pizza

Jim and Lyla Spata opened and operated Valeo’s for 40 years,
building an incredible foundation which has been passed on to
their son and daughter-in-law Eric and Christal, but you can still
find Jim and Lyla occasionally working in the kitchen or chatting
with customers, as they continue to be involved with every step of
the business, from the pizza dough, pizza and pasta sauce, the
meatballs and roasting their Italian beef from scratch; but per-
haps most importantly, Jim and Lyla have passed down how to
operate a great local business to their children through hard
work, leadership, and delivering a high quality product.

Brat Stop

Today drive any distance on the interstate highway system and you’ll see
the same fast food chains time and time again. However, it wasn’t always
that way. Back in 1961 when the Brat Stop, 12304 75th St., first
opened on Hwy 50 and I-94, travelers had varied choices and a sense of
adventure when they traversed the roadways in search of their next meal.
From humble beginnings, four generations of the Rassmussen family have
worked hard to develop a restaurant that today is a mecca for both locals
and travelers from afar. Over the years hundreds of national acts have
appeared on the Brat Stop main stage including the Dixie Chicks, REO
Speedwagon, Cheap Trick and Styx as well as many other famous people
from all walks of life who have come to experience firsthand what many con-
sider to be some of the best tasting bratwurst in the entire country. Pictured is

opened a small carry-out and delivery business at 7531 39th
Avenue. Luigi specialized in making the greatest pizza he could
for Kenosha. In 1972, a dining room was opened at Luigi's
Pizza Kitchen, and since then customers have enjoyed a great
experience of delicious food and great customer service. Since
Luigi has retired, the business has continued to exemplify his com-
mittment to providing the greatest possible dinner experience for

their customers, with Luigi's sons Tony and John Ziccarelli running
the business before Tony retired allowing John's son Jake to step
up and carry on their fine traditions. The staff at Luigi's proudly
creates their own homemade spaghetti sauce, soups, and pastas,
and proudly carry the ever-popular Henny Penny chicken, and
hand-breaded cod, and be sure to ask about their seasonal spe-
