Page 4 HAPPENINGS JUNE 15, 2023 www.hap2it.com Never Have I Ever star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan said she was impressed that the show's fourth and final season, which premiered last week on Netflix, began in such a bold way. The Season 3 finale showed Devi (Ramakrishnan) going to classmate Ben's (Jaren Lewison) room. Season 4 begins with them in bed the morning after losing their virginity. "That's absolutely bold, but I love it because it shows people that this isn't the peak of the drama," Ramakrishnan, 21, said in a Zoom interview. "This is just the beginning, truly just the beginning. I think audiences are going to react the same way." Senior year for Devi, Ben and their friends gives way to more love triangles and pivotal life moments. While looking for colleges, Ben tries to impress recruiters with the cringe-worthy catch phrase "It's all about the Benjamin." "It was a good effort from good intentions and not the best execution," Lewison, 22, said of Ben's attempted hype. "I don't think he quite resonates as well as he thinks he does." Devi's friend, Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez), tries to recruit more women for the school robotics team. The team's male-skewing demographic also reflects the larger issues of sexism in science, technology, engineering and math. "Fabiola being a leader of her robotics team is really great to see on screen, and sheds the light that there are some really strong, smart women in STEM," said Rodriguez, 23. Paxton (Darren Barnet) was a year older than the others, so he already is in his freshman year at college. Barnet, 32, said Paxton struggles with the adjustment. "It's a journey of selfdiscovery," Barnet said. "He's leaving a very small pond where he was a big fish, and things can be different the larger the pond becomes." At home, Devi's mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), is trying to cope with the prospect of Devi leaving the nest. The show began as Devi and Nalini were faced with the death of Devi's father, Mohan (Sendhil Ramamurthy). Jagannathan, 50, said the final season of Never Have I Ever shows Nalini moving on, as well. "She's ready to meet the moment," Jagannathan said. "She has healed a little bit. She's been grieving all these years, and because the grief is slowly dissipating, there's room now for joy." Devi's cousin, Kamala (Richa Moorjani), lived with Devi and Nalini at the beginning of the series. Though she has moved out, Kamala still visits in Season 4. Moorjani, 34, says it's similar to how her real extended family visits each other all the time. "I have cousins all over the world and they really are more than cousins," Moorjani said. "They're like my own siblings. Something that's so beautiful about our families and our culture is the bonds." Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher created Never Have I Ever. Kaling based many of Devi's family storylines on her own experience growing up as an Indian teen in America. Ramakrishnan said Kaling and her staff's college experiences inspired some of Season 4's storylines. "It comes from their real experience and their real emotions dealing with things," Ramakrishnan said. Rodriguez recalled an earlier moment inspired by one of the show's writers: Fabiola came out as gay in Season 1. "I know Fabiola's coming out moment in Season 1 was based on a real experience from one of the writers," Rodriguez said. Season 4 also sees Nalini's mother, Nirmala (Ranjita Chakravarty), begin dating again after years of being a widow. Jagannathan said Kaling took inspiration from her own family. "Mindy's mom passed away and Mindy's dad, after some years, met someone and got remarried," Chakravarty said. "That was inspired by Mindy's own life." By Fred Topel Maitreyi Ramakrishnan returns for the final season of "Never Have I Ever." Maitreyi Ramakrishnan: 'Never Have I Ever' Season 4 is 'absolutely bold' Born December 28, 2001 (age 21) Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Ramakrishnan was born and raised inMississauga. Her parents, ofEelam TamilHinduheritage, immigrated to Canada asrefugeesfromSri Lankadue to thecivil war. Both “Never Have I Ever” and Ramakrishnan's performance received positive reviews, withVarietycalling it a "breakout performance". Page 6 HAPPENINGS JUNE 15, 2023 www.hap2it.com The sidewalk along the Aare River is congested with wet and happy Swiss, hiking upstream in swimsuits just to float back into town. I join them – marveling at how this exercise brings out the silly in a people who are generally anything but goofy. Every hundred yards a railing with concrete steps leads into the rushing river, which looks glacial blue but is surprisingly warm. Leaping in, I’m immediately caught up in the current and propelled toward the grand capital city of Switzerland amid carefree swimmers and a flotilla of rubber life rafts. Nearing the Marzilibad park, I stroke over to snare a metal railing. I’m always a bit nervous that I’ll miss the last one and rush toward the city’s scary weir and, it seems, oblivion. Hanging onto the railing was a tanned and wiry grandmother and several giddy children, clearly enjoying an afternoon going up and down the river. That evening for dinner, I walk downstream to that scary weir, where a trendy restaurant has been built literally over the rushing river. I enjoy tasty local trout over gapped floorboards as the noisy roar of the racing river masks conversations of the Swiss sipping beer on the open-air sofas. Strolling along the river after dinner, I pass a man water skiing in the current behind a long, playful bungee cord tied to a tree. I reach two concrete pits that were once home to the city’s mascots, a pair of elderly bears, the last of which died in 2009. Thanks to years of agitation by the B.L.M. (Bear Liberation Movement), which demanded better living conditions for the poor old captives of Bern, the city replaced the pits with posher digs for today’s mascots. Now one of the original bear pits is a bear-themed bar. Bern is packed into a peninsula created by a tight bend in the river. Crossing the river from the bear pits I enter the old town – a delight to explore on foot. The lanes are lined with three miles of arcades, providing lots of shopping opportunities. This is my kind of shopping town: Prices are so high, there’s no danger of buying. The local slang for the corridor under these arcades is Rohr (German for pipe). To stroll through the town is to go rohren (piping). As Bern grew over the centuries, each of its successive walls and moats were torn down, providing vast, people-friendly swaths of land. Today these are elongated “squares,” popular for markets and outdoor cafés – the top places to be seen in the evening. Buildings new and old throughout the city are a uniform gray, from the creamy Bernese sandstone, quarried nearby. In the 16th century, the city commissioned many colorful fountains to brighten up the gray cityscape, to show off the town’s wealth, and to remind citizens of great local heroes and events. They also gave local artists something to work on after the Reformation deprived them of their most important patron, the Catholic Church. Bern’s 15th-century cathedral, Catholic-turned-Protestant, is capped by a 330-foot-tall tower, the highest in Switzerland. During the Reformation, religious icons were destroyed by Protestants. The church was originally adorned by 26 separate little chapels and altars dedicated to Mary and the various saints. When the Reformation came to town in 1528, all this was swept away by iconoclasts who believed that images distracted worshippers from focusing on God. The new center of attention was the pulpit from where Protestant preachers shared the word of God – not in Latin, but in the people’s language. The parliament meets in the old town. You may brush elbows with some high-powered legislators, but you wouldn’t know it – everything looks very casual for a national capital. Its bicameral system was inspired by the US Constitution, with one big difference: Executive power is shared by a committee of seven, with a rotating ceremonial president and a passion for consensus. This is a mechanism to avoid power grabs by any single individual – a safeguard that the Swiss appreciate more than ever these days. Free, one-hour tours of the parliament building are offered in various languages during summer when parliament is not in session. The fine granite plaza in front of the parliament has 26 squirt fountains (one for each canton, or Swiss state). Oblivious to the fact that half of the Swiss gold stock is buried in the country’s Fort Knox under the square, kids dance with each watery eruption. Though I’ve said it’s almost criminal to spend a sunny Swiss day anywhere but high in the Alps, I’d make an exception for urban but easygoing Bern. By Rick Steves Bern, Switzerland’s classy yet fun capital travel Bern’s famous clock tower, part of the original wall around the city, looms at the head of Marktgasse street. Passengers on board a Delta Air Lines flight got a double dose of travel disruptions when the Boeing 767-300 they were on diverted to a different city and then suffered an emergency slide malfunction at the gate. "Delta flight 520, operating from New York-JFK to Los Angeles-LAX, diverted to Salt Lake City due to a maintenance issue," an airline spokesperson told CNN in a statement. "While on the ground, the same aircraft's slide was deployed by accident." According to Delta Air Lines, the plane did not make an emergency landing last Saturday and its diversion to Salt Lake International Airport was not related to the inflatable emergency slide opening up at the gate. An airline employee, who was caught as the slide deployed inside the plane, was taken to a hospital for evaluation before being discharged, the airline said. "The safety of our customers and crew is our number one priority at Delta. We apologize to our customers on flight 520 on Saturday for the experience they had," Morgan Durrant, a Delta spokesperson said in a statement. "Delta teams are fully investigating." After the slide deployed, the plane was taken out of service. The 168 passengers were transferred to a different aircraft and were flown to Los Angeles later that day. www.hap2it.com JUNE 15, 2023 HAPPENINGS Page 7 Man finds one million pennies while cleaning out home A family cleaning out their home in Los Angeles stumbled upon several bags containing one million pennies. John Reyes said that he was cleaning out his father-in-law's home when he made the discovery. The bags of pennies were in unopened, sealed bank bags. "I've actually been contacted by a few coin collectors or people who specialize in this space and just based off some of the questions they asked me, for example having the lead sealed bag or having bags from banks we don't necessarily recognize, knowing they are at least 40 years old or more. I've had quite a few collectors tell me that this is something that shouldn't be sold until we know what's going on," Reyes told FOX 11. According to the New York Post, the family determined that the coins are copper and not zinc, which the United States switched to in the 1980's. Reyes has listed the coins on OfferUp, a resale website, asking for $25,000. "The value is in the uniqueness," he said. 68-foot poison ivy plant is officially the world's tallest An Ontario man said a 68-foottall poison ivy plant he found growing on his property left him itching for Guinness World Records recognition. Robert Fedrock told Guinness World Records he was walking in a wooded area on his property several years ago when he first spotted the large vine growing up a tree. Fedrock said he suspected the vine might be poison ivy, but he had to dig out some buckthorn to get a better view. The experience left him with a positive identification, as well as poison ivy rashes on his hands, arms, face and stomach. A friend suggested Fedrock submit the 68-foot vine to Guinness World Records, and the organization confirmed it is the tallest poison ivy plant in the world. "I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I am fascinated by the natural world and I'm always looking for the most interesting things in the woods; they make good destinations for my trails, but in this case the trail found the interesting thing," he said. Full sense of smell hasn't returned after COVID-19 infection for millions COVID-19 caused more than 20 million Americans to lose their ability to smell and taste, and at least 25% haven't regained those vital senses, a new study says. Survey responses from nearly 29,700 adults also show a correlation between more severe COVID-19 infection and taste and smell loss. "The value of this study is that we are highlighting a group of people who have been a bit neglected," said study co-author Dr. Neil Bhattacharyya, a professor of otolaryngology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. "Losing your sense of smell or taste isn't as benign as you may think. It can lead to decreased eating for pleasure and, in more extreme cases, it can lead to depression and weight loss," he added in a journal news release. Around 72% of patients fully recovered their sense of smell, but others were less fortunate. Twentyfour percent only had a partial recovery and more than 3% had no recovery of their sense of smell at all. Of those who experienced a loss of taste, about three-quarters fully recovered the sense, while 20% only partially recovered their sense of taste and more than 2% did not regain it at all. Man's first-ever lottery ticket earns him $375,000 A South Carolina man experienced a bout of beginner's luck when he bought his first-ever lottery ticket and scored a $375,000 prize. The Pee Dee man told South Carolina Education Lottery officials he had never purchased a lottery ticket before his recent visit to the Mini Mart on National Cemetery Road in Florence. The player selected a $10 Mighty Jumbo Bucks scratch-off ticket, which revealed a $375,000 prize. "It was wonderful," the winner recalled. The man said he is saving his winnings for now. He said he is not sure if he will buy a second lottery ticket. "I haven't bought a ticket since," he said. HFPA disbands, Golden Globes to continue The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced it plans to end its membership organization. Its Golden Globe Awards will continue under Dick Clark Productions (DCP). The next Golden Globes will air Jan. 7. After "the winddown of the HFPA and its membership," the 310 members will remain voters in the Golden Globe Awards, the HFPA told UPI. HFPA President Helen Hoehne stated that the membership voted to approve the transition. DCP intends to "pursue commercial opportunities for the Golden Globes across the globe" in addition to the annual awards show. The HFPA consists of international journalists reporting on the entertainment industry. The HFPA received criticism recently for its lack of diversity in membership. In response, the HPA accepted new members and hired officers to improve diversity and inclusion. coast to coast Working with AI associated with loneliness, insomnia, alcohol use A new study finds that people working with artificial intelligence (AI) systems can be lonely, suffer from insomnia and drink more heavily after work. In the study, the researchers noted these findings don't prove that working with AI systems causes loneliness or other responses, just that they are associated. "The rapid advancement in AI systems is sparking a new industrial revolution that is reshaping the workplace with many benefits but also some uncharted dangers, including potentially damaging mental and physical impacts for employees," said lead researcher Pok Man Tang, an assistant professor of management at the University of Georgia. "Humans are social animals, and isolating work with AI systems may have damaging spillover effects into employees' personal lives," he said. Working with AI systems can have some benefits, the researchers found. For example, employees who use AI systems are more likely to be helpful to fellow workers, but that may be triggered by loneliness and the need for social contact, Tang's team said. The researchers found that those with high levels of attachment anxiety, which is feeling insecure and worried about social connections, reported working with AI systems made them more likely to help others. They also suffered from loneliness and insomnia. Tang said that developers of AI should consider equipping AI systems with social features, such as a human voice, to emulate humanlike interactions. Employers also could limit the frequency of work with AI systems and offer opportunities for employees to socialize. "Mindfulness programs and other positive interventions also might help relieve loneliness," Tang said. "AI will keep expanding, so we need to act now to lessen the potentially damaging effects for people who work with these systems." Steven Spielberg won double Golden Globes this year for "The Fabelmans."

Page 8 HAPPENINGS JUNE 15, 2023 www.hap2it.com Good Trouble alum Priscilla Quintana says her new mystery dramedy, Based on a True Story, deftly explores people's peculiar passion for murder-themed podcasts. "The show does a good job of poking fun at America's fascination and obsession really with true crime," Quintana told UPI in a recent Zoom interview. "The show navigates that perfectly. It is able to make fun of itself and it takes the things seriously that it needs to." Streaming now on Peacock, the eight-episode, dark comedic TV series follows Ava (Kaley Cuoco), a cash-strapped, California realestate agent and her former tennis star husband Nathan (Chris Messina), who stumble across a serial killer and blackmail the person into making a podcast with them. The couple expects a quick pay day, but instead finds themselves at the beck and call of a demanding collaborator who wants creative control because they are worried about their "brand." Quintana plays Ava's wealthy best friend and fellow podcast lover Ruby, while Light as a Feather actress Liana Liberato plays Ava's younger sister Tory, a law student. The showrunner is Craig Rosenberg -- whose credits include The Boys and Gen V -- and the cast includes Tom Bateman, Natalia Dyer, Alex Alomar Akpobome, Aisha Alfa, Annabelle Dexter-Jones and Li Jun Li. "I felt really connected to Kaley's character," said Liberato. "It does feel like a bit of escapism, a bit of entertainment, which poses a very big question to us as a society: 'Why do we find these [podcasts] so fascinating?'" The actresses understand this morbid passion. "I listen to all the podcasts," Quintana said. "I watch all the shows. I listen to Crime Junkie and I was on Podcast 300-andsomething earlier and I was like: 'I really listened to this many? That's insane.'" Liberato described herself as a "podcast girlie." "Unless it's Taylor Swift, I'm listening to podcasts," she added. "I think that's a good juxtaposition," Quintana chimed in. Liberato was impressed with her character Tory's point of view regarding true crime stories and how she asks solid questions about who benefits from exploiting them. "I feel like most people in her generation are overly invested," she said. "You look at Instagram and TikTok and you have all of these people putting on their investigator hats and trying to insert themselves into cases. "Tory is very different than that. She very much questions and struggles with the fascination that we have over violence and doesn't seem actually that desensitized to it." Quintana added, "It used to be the people that were so interested in it were the rare ones, but now that has completely flipped in our society." Ruby was a blast to play for Quintana since she is so different from who she is in real life. "She's fun, she's sassy, she's whip-smart, she gets exactly what she wants. She stops at nothing. She turns lemons into diamonds. She's hell on heels," the actress said. "Her and I are polar opposites, so that was really fun to explore," she added. Liberato called Tory the "complete opposite" of Ruby. "She is incredibly grounded to a point sometimes where, as an actor, I was like, 'Am I on the same show as these people?'" Liberato said. "She is definitely a bit of a lighthouse in the midst of a crazy storm which causes quite the obstacle in Ava and Nathan's life in kind of an unintentional way," she added. Quintana said Ruby and Tory both disrupt Ava's and Nathan's lives. "I do it on purpose. She does it on accident," Quintana said. "I'm Ava's best friend, so we have a very close relationship, almost sisterly, but then this is her real sister, so I can't compete with that." Tory is grateful to Ava and Nathan for taking her into their home at a difficult time in her life. "She feels, in a way, rescued by Ava and Nathan, and she has an immense amount of respect for them and puts them on a pedestal, which I think, again, causes trouble down the line with the actions that they take to stay afloat," Liberato said."Also, there is that sibling mentality that comes in where Tory just wants to do her own thing." In addition to starring in the show while she was expecting her first child, Cuoco also served as an executive producer on the series. "I can't believe she did a whole show pregnant. She's absolutely incredible," Liberato said. "She was [Tory's] big sister on the show, but she really felt like a big sister to both of us in real life. She is so nurturing and she also is hilarious," Quintana added. Chew on This A new study suggests that people with Type 2 diabetes who have full chewing function have blood sugar levels significantly lower than patients who struggle to chew effectively. The proposed reason relates to the complex benefits of chewing your food well. First, chewing stimulates the production of saliva, which kickstarts the digestive process, especially regarding fiber, which helps reduce blood glucose levels. Second, chewing stimulates intestinal reactions that increase insulin levels, and it stimulates the hypothalamus in the brain that promotes a feeling of satiety (you feel full, eat less). Being overweight is a major risk factor for developing Type 2 diabetes. The drop in blood sugar levels attributed to better chewing may be significant. In the study of 94 patients with diabetes, the good chewers had a glucose level of 7.48; the poor chewers (most were lacking some or all teeth) 9.42. Gulp! Researchers tested 60 common beverages and found that five contained levels of toxic metals above federal drinking water standards. The sampled beverages, which included those commonly found in grocery stores, such as single and mixed fruit juices, plant-based milks, sodas and teas, were measured for 25 different toxic metals and trace elements. Mixedfruit juices and plant-based milks (such as oat and almond) contained elevated concentrations of toxic metals more often than other drinks. Seven of the 25 elements exceeded drinking water standards in some drinks, including nickel, manganese, boron, cadmium, strontium, arsenic and selenium. Lead was detected in more than 93% of the 60 samples, but mostly at very low levels, below 1 part per billion. Body of Knowledge Teratomas are a type of tumor that contain different types of tissue. Jung had worked with Sigmund Freud, but developed his own theories, which he called "analytical psychology." Jung proposed the concepts of extroverted and introverted personalities and the idea of the collective unconscious. Curtain Calls Hans Staininger was the burgomaster (mayor) of Braunau am Inn in 16th century Austria, noted for his beard, which extended nearly five feet and which he normally kept wrapped in a leather pouch hanging from his neck. On a fateful day in 1567, he opted to skip the pouch. There was a fire and Staininger, while trying to escape, tripped over his prodigious facial hair, breaking his neck. Page 16 HAPPENINGS JUNE 15, 2023 www.hap2it.com New products are constantly being introduced by the home improvement industry. If you’ve been around long enough, you can spot ones that have lots of sizzle but most likely won’t stand the test of time. I had that feeling 40 years ago when I first saw colored concrete paving bricks. It turns out my gut feeling was correct. The evidence is all around you that concrete paving brick can’t lace the boots of true clay paving brick. Here are just a few of the reasons. You might have a patio paved with concrete bricks, or you might walk on them at a park or outdoor shopping mall. These pavers come in many shapes, sizes and colors. Several years ago, my wife wanted an instant outdoor patio, and I could only satisfy her desire by using largeformat concrete patio stones that came in different sizes. They interlocked in a random ashlar pattern. The large pavers I used were made the same way as the concrete brick you may have. Concrete companies mix small stone chips, coarse sand, Portland cement and dry pigments together with a precise amount of water. The mix is poured into molds to make the brick or larger pavers. They’re cured to gain maximum strength, and the colors are rich when the products leave the manufacturing plant. The color you see is created by the ultra-thin pigmented cement paste covering the sand and gravel at the surface. By contrast, real bricks are made from clay. The clay is cut into the final brick shapes and then fired in a huge kiln. The high-temperature firing process produces a chemical change in the clay, creating an artificial rock of sorts. Some clay bricks can be fired so hard they are strong enough to be used as normal street paving. Clay paving bricks don’t change color over time. Concrete paving bricks fade and change color. The thin-colored cement paste in concrete pavers wears off with normal wear and tear; you can blast it off using your power washer. After one or two cleanings, the color of the stone chips and sand starts to dominate the surface appearance. Another issue with concrete paving bricks is the way they’re set. Almost all are set in a bed of sand. Burrowing animals can and do tunnel through the sand. The bricks can settle and tilt, and they look horrible in short order. I know this because it happened at my own home. I didn’t build the house I live in, and I inherited two walkways made of concrete paving brick when I bought this home. One walkway looks better than the other, but both no longer are as flat as they were when installed. Weeds and concrete paving bricks are like peanut butter and jelly. You can count on weeds growing up in between the bricks if you live where you get enough water to support the growth. A weed hacker can be used to trim the visible growth, but days later the weeds sprout new green growth. Ants love concrete paving brick. They transport the sand underneath the brick up to the surface as they create comfy nests. You can broom or blow the sand away with little effort, but it’s just another nuisance to deal with. The gaps between concrete paving bricks are typically filled with fine sand. Some pavers have tiny bumps on the sides so a wider joint between each brick is created once installed. My largeformat pavers had this. Manufacturers have known for decades that people love to clean their concrete pavers with a power washer. The issue is no matter how careful you are, the high-pressure stream digs out the sand. The manufacturers responded by inventing polymeric sand. This is just sand that comes with a water-activated adhesive. When I first saw this product, I was skeptical. I simply couldn’t believe that a water-based adhesive could withstand Mother Nature. Once again, my gut instinct was spot on. I used polymeric sand between the pavers of the patio I built for She Who Must Be Obeyed, knowing that it was doomed to fail. I followed the instructions to the letter, and the sand looked fantastic for two years. Then it slowly succumbed to the harsh New Hampshire winters. I have weeds growing on my patio, some of the sand is missing, and it all needs to be redone. If you want a trouble-free brick patio, my suggestion is to do what I’m starting to do at my son’s house. We’re installing thin split clay paving brick on a steelreinforced concrete slab. The space in between each brick will be filled with mortar that will test out at 12,000 pounds per square inch. Soon, you’ll read an upcoming column about this project, and I’ll share detailed step-by-step videos of the process. Here’s my question: How do I get the home transferred into my name? My mother didn’t want to leave her home to my brother. He knows this, and so far it hasn’t been a problem. But because my mom didn’t have a will, I don’t know how this will play out. I’ve spent a lot of time and money making repairs, and paying the bills and property taxes. My brother is always welcome to visit, but my mom felt she couldn’t trust him to keep the home in the family for generations to come. What should I do? A: You’ve waited two years to ask this question, and we have no idea why. Well, it’s past time for you to hire an attorney and get this done. The more time passes, the more things (and people’s minds) can change. It’s quite unfortunate that your mother never wrote up a will, put the property into a living trust or took any other measures to ensure the property would become yours once she died. You need to hire an attorney who can assist you in having the title to the home transferred into your name. The process will likely require your brother’s cooperation, and your brother may have to formally decline his share of the property. The legal term is that he would “disclaim his inheritance.” You should know that now that your mom has passed, the title to the home would normally transfer as required under the laws in the state in which the property is located. Usually when a person dies, the property they own goes to their spouse and children. If they don’t have a spouse, then to their children. But there are some differences in each state’s estate laws, and you need to ask the attorney what the law provides for in your state. The attorney may need to open an estate in probate court to have the title to the property transferred from your mom’s name into your name. Once the probate case starts, your attorney will ask your brother to sign some documents that would allow the home to go into your name. Given that you’ll need your brother’s cooperation through the process, you should get this done as soon as possible. When you’re talking with the attorney, you might ask if it’s worth setting up a living trust for the property. Since this is a property your mother wanted to stay in the family for generations, you could name yourself as trustee and beneficiary. If you want, you can name a successor beneficiary, so the property would flow to that person automatically upon your death. Since you’re going to all this trouble now, it would certainly make future transfers easier. A final reminder: People can and do change their minds for all sorts of reasons. If you don’t take care of the paperwork as soon as possible, it’s possible that your brother might want something from you in exchange for the home. Then, you’d have to start negotiating how much you have already paid in maintenance and upkeep costs versus the value of the property the day your mom passed. So, while he is in agreement that the property should belong to you, secure his cooperation now and have the title transferred according to your mother’s wishes. While you are feeling more motivated, you can use your newfound strength to create a list of the steps needed to reach your goals. Listen to helpful tips and you can feather your own nest. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Obtaining favorable opinions from those in charge can lead to receiving recognition you deserve.
