Profile

I am an Engineer with 15+ years of experi- lifecycle of the building led me back to of-
ence in the construction industry. My journey fice the where I work for MEP consultancy
began in 2006 when I joined architectural Stantec in Reading, UK. Throughout the
Studio Deltaplan in Prague, Czech Repub- years I have gained experiences in differ-
lic. I worked there for 10 years. Throughout ent mechanical & electrical services and
the years, my skills, and responsibilities nat- systems through various projects. My du-
urally developed and led me to a position ties include but are not limited to leading
as an Architectural Engineer. In summer MEP Revit modelling and development for
2016, I moved to the United Kingdom and building services from concept design to
took a short-term position as an Assistant construction stage and delivering drawing
Foreman for the sole purpose of getting a packages. I am also responsible for 3D co-
deeper insight into building processes on ordination and communication with the de-
site. My passion for knowledge of the whole sign team, to ensure all issues are addressed.

Experience

Senior Technician As a recognition of my productivity and problem-solving attitude,
I was appointed as a Senior Technician. In this role, I have been
4/2020 - to date utilising my engineering background to produce high-quality M&E
drawings and Revit models in line with a design brief. I apply engi-
Reading, United Kingdom neering principles to my multi-disciplinary experience while deliv-
ering coordinated and clash-free Revit models, arranging design
reviews, feasibility conceptual design studies and time estimation
of project completion.
A great example of my responsibilities is leading a production de-
livery of a large-scale residential complex. In two years, I have suc-
cessfully delivered design drawings for developed design through
to the construction stage. The most challenging part of this project
is the coordination of all building services with Architectural and
Structural BIM Models. I organised and lead coordination work-
shops with architects and structure engineers. I have been the
main point of contact for any unforeseen issues that arose during
the construction stage. I regularly attended site visits and assisted
in producing site inspection reports. I also supervise, mentor, and
guide junior technicians and engineers in digital delivery during
design processes within a BIM environment.

BIM Technician I was given the opportunity to change my specialization and ex-
pand my knowledge by joining Building Services consultancy
3/2017 - 3/2020 Stantec (former Peter Brett Associates) as a BIM Technician. My
background and experience in project delivery enabled a more
Reading, United Kingdom efficient way of working by applying engineering principles to a
drawing production.
Having worked on a number of various schemes and uses, I have
gained wide-ranging experience in mechanical, electrical, and
plumbing design. My duties included drawing production from the
concept stage to the construction stage. I was in charge of the
CAD department and standardization. While working on projects
I have been creating a library of dynamic blocks, legends, notes
and layers which over time formed company standards.

8

Assistant Foreman My interest in the entire construction process (from concept de-
sign through to a handover) led me to change my office-based
8/2016 - 2/2017 job. In summer 2016, I moved to the United Kingdom and took a
short-term position as an assistant foreman for a small construction
PCC company for a sole purpose of getting a deeper insight into build-
ing processes on site.
London, United Kingdom

I was responsible for overseeing and coordination of all site staff. I
organised and planned site activities to align and manage work-
load in line with the project programme. My main focus was on the
timely delivery of a first and a second fix. I transferred my site expe-
rience of access, maintenance and installation into the design to
minimalize the risk of potential issues during the construction stage.

Architectural When I achieved my master’s degree, I was appointed as an Ar-
Engineer chitectural Engineer. The early start of my career advanced me to
a project lead position just a few months after graduation.
1/2015 - 7/2016
I led architectural design in accordance with building regulations
Prague, Czech Republic and legislation. I produced access statements, reports, schedules
and schematics. Whilst working on the arge scale luxury family
residence Hamhouse I was leading and upskilling a team of tech-
nicians. I was also responsible for project design and delivery. I
attended site visits and produced site inspection reports to guar-
antee compliance with the design and specification.

Senior Technician & Whilst studying at Czech Technical University in Prague, I continued
Architectural working part part-time in Deltaplan. A few years later, I was pro-
Technologist moted to a Senior Technician and Architectural Technologist.
My duties included designing construction details, producing
12/2012 - 12/2014 drawings, accommodation schedules and product schedules. I
was responsible for the drawing delivery in various stages (plan-
Prague, Czech Republic ning, tender, and construction).

I was responsible for coordination between architects, engineers,
structures, civils and building services engineers to deliver a fully co-
ordinated scheme for construction on a number of complex proj-
ects such as V Tower and Residential Park Baarova. I was involved
in developing, creating and enforcing company CAD standards. I
created a CAD library consisting of dynamic blocks, typical draw-
ings and detail drawings.

CAD Technician My journey in the construction industry began when I was 16 years
old. While I was studying at college, I joined an architectural studio
6/2006 - 11/2012 Deltaplan. Initially, it was a summer work experience that led to
a part-time job while studying. This experience gave me an early
Prague, Czech Republic insight into the construction industry and my passion grew for great
design.

As a CAD technician, I produced architectural drawings and doc-
umentation. Deltaplan development programme helped me to
learn best practices and build upon them in my career. The ar-
chitecture practice is among the best in the Czech Republic and
I had the opportunity to work on very interesting and complex
schemes. Many of them were shortlisted in a National Award Build-
ing of the Year.

Project Description

A residential-led, mixed-use
scheme for Westminster City
Council, Harrow Road is an ambi-
tious regeneration project intrinsi-
cally focused upon placemaking
and substantially enhancing the
social environment for this existing
community within the Borough.
The development comprises the
re-provision of existing communi-
ty facilities, a nursery, new public
realm, commercial spaces, and
crucially 112 new homes – with
50% genuinely affordable. Fo-
cusing upon the residential ele-
ment of the project, all sit within
a mixed schedule of accommo-
dation ranging from studio to
3-bedroom apartments – with
the majority of family-sized dwell-
ings provided within the social
tenure to support an identified
need by the local authority.

The design intentionally improves
the connectivity between Har-
row Road and the canal, while
new active frontages not only
provide a sense of place but
help create a safe and secure
environment for all residents.

Project Description

PEARL (Person-Environment-Ac-
tivity Research Laboratory) is a
unique, world leading research
space for UCL’s Department of
Engineering. This research explore
the ways in which people interact
with their environment. The facility
is expanding success of PAMELA
(Pedestrian Accessibility Move-
ment Environment Laboratory).
PEARL provide the wherewithal
for researchers to engage with
the public to discover what activ-
ities people want or need to do,
and the ways in which the envi-
ronment helps or hinders them.
From this knowledge we will then
be able to apply and test the
ways in which we can design the
environment to enable people to
live with a greater quality of life
in the social space that is society.

Research and experimental
space can create life-sized, con-
trolled condition environments
- e.g. a railway station, a high
street or town square – where
people’s interaction with the en-
vironment and each other can
be examined. The uniqueness
of this facility is flexible space.

PROJECT PORTFOLIO

Project Description

The project of a luxury high-rise
apartment building is the high-
est residentail buldign in Prague.

Panorama has been completed
by a solitary high-rise building,
which, by its clearly identifiable
sculpture-like form, harmonious-
ly perfects current skyline. The
„V“(Victoria) form of the design
symbolizes candidness, freedom,
joy and optimism. It also introduc-
es two parts – male and female
principles – Jin and Jang. The „V“
building – apartment house is de-
signed with its „V“ front facing
plumb to the axis of Prague Castle.

The glass walls are significant-
ly recessed, which makes the
building look subtle even from
a distant viewpoint as the glass
will not reflect light. The roof de-
sign allows for gardens with em-
bedded swimming pools. Visible
solid structures are white; the
frame line (partitioning, sliding
wall framework) has been com-
pleted with natural aluminium
finish. Glass panes are clear,
transparent and non-reflective.

Project Description

The AFI KARLIN BUTTERFLY is as tac-
tile as it is intelligent, with a clear
ecological goal of not only a high-
level of energy certification, but
also of visual and physical com-
fort of is users and visitors. It is in-
tended as a ‘living work’ with hu-
man scale and the enhancement
of its sensory level environment.

The facades of building are its
dynamic – they qualify the ob-
ject as a living organism, which
grows, changes and moves in
time, while also insulating the
building and creating oxygen in
the immediate context. The verti-
cal gardens as well contribute to
improving the acoustic character
of the surrounding neighborhood.

The central atrium was invented
as a space for the building to
‘breathe’, where people go out
and can still be inside. It’s a multi-
functional space with a dual
psychology – normally it’s a con-
templative zone where curves
surround you, green engulfs you
and water relaxes you – but it
can also be an event space,
which is active, lively and cultural.
