Our Sixth Form is well established and successful. Committed to raising aspirations and
maintaining high standards, we encourage pupils to do nothing less than their best whilst
providing the highest levels of support.
Our post 16 curriculum offer is strong and broad, offering opportunities to follow both
academic and vocational pathways in state of the art facilities with high quality teaching.
Many of our pupils choose to progress to university whilst others leave ready to enter the
world of work through apprenticeships and employment.

EVERY YOUNG PERSON VALUED

Pupils settle quickly into Sixth Form life and are
supported in this transition and throughout their
time with us by an experienced pastoral team.

The Academy provides personalised pathways for all Sixth Form pupils, enabling them to
leave the Academy with the qualifications, experiences and personal qualities necessary to fulfil
their ambitions.
Pupils are encouraged to develop as active citizens, supporting and leading local, national and
international community projects through our volunteering programme and activities such as
the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Advice and support is offered to all with professional guidance on university applications,
work experience opportunities, and career progression.

LEARNING FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

Sarum Academy provides a wide range of A Level
& BTEC courses for individualised learning pathways
which can be chosen in a variety of combinations to
meet individual needs and aspirations.

It’s important to us that pupils are following a curriculum that is right for them. Traditional A Level
courses in the sciences, arts and humanities support progression to university whilst vocational
opportunities such as health and social care, catering, sports studies and hairdressing can lead to
chosen careers and employment. Universities usually require at least 3 A Level and / or 3 A Level
equivalent qualifications as a standard entry requirement for degree courses.

Unique to Salisbury, we also have a pathway for talented sports players to access coaching and
team selection through partnerships with local professional and amateur clubs.

The facilities within the Academy are truly outstanding.
Sarum Academy enjoys modern, innovative accommodation
which inspires and encourages independent learning.

Spacious interactive classrooms, clustered around welcoming open plan areas, sit alongside fully
equipped vocational workshops, laboratories and extensive sports and performing facilities.
Sixth Form pupils occupy their own dedicated space, situated in a prominent position in the
academy grounds which houses study facilities, seminar rooms and a large common room.
We also have great opportunities for pupils to experience life beyond the classroom; within
work experience settings and through a wide range of educational visits and journeys both
at home and abroad.

Our Sixth Form pupils leave us as confident, self-assured
learners ready to face the world and all the challenges
that lie ahead.

Over 70% progress to Higher Education each year, including to Russell Group universities and
across a wide range of disciplines. Many choose to join our fast growing and active alumni.
