Still, according to Glotzer, “the good

That all starts with screenings.
“The current recommendations,”

DINING REVIEW

Wind & Waves Grill: Discover one of area’s best-kept secrets

BY TINA RONDEAU
Columnist

Grandkids coming for the holidays?

If you’re looking for a new place to

try for a family dinner, you might want

to drop by Wind & Waves Grill – where

they offer everything from cheeseburg-

ers and chicken nuggets for the kids up

to fresh seafood and steaks (not to men-

Never heard of it? Well, this bright,

airy restaurant at Disney’s Vero Beach

resort may be the area’s best kept din-

ing secret.

Relatively few local residents dine at

the Wind & Waves Grill, even though

it is closer than any other restaurant to

the communities on the northern third

of our island.

On a visit last week, my husband de-

cided to start with the beet and granola

salad ($9) while I opted for the wood

oven clams ($18).

My husband’s salad was excellent,

with red beets and orange slices set atop

winter mixed greens and sprinkled with

Elegant Marbrisa home offers peaceful river views

BY STEPHANIE LABAFF

Staff Writer

Life is a pleasure “under the Flori-
da sun” in this 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath,
Tuscan-style home at 701 Marbrisa
River Lane in Marbrisa.

The lane meanders through the
quiet neighborhood, wending its way
between mature, moss-draped oak
trees and over a lovely, red bridge.
When it seems as if you can drive no
further, you’ve arrived at the two-sto-
ry, riverfront home.

A balconette overlooks the circle
drive, adding a romantic flair so that
you start to fall a little bit in love with
the house before even crossing the
threshold. Once inside the two-story
foyer, the view nudges you the rest of
the way in.

While this home is filled with fine
finishes, including coffered ceil-
ings, double-crown molding, marble
floors, custom cabinets and built-ins,
comfort as well as elegance perme-
ates throughout. Impact windows
and shutters add security during
stormy weather; and with concrete
block interior walls, the home is a ver-
itable fortress. Transoms and French
doors opening to the patio ensure the
rich, dark wood doesn’t overwhelm
the interior.

Following the marble corridor
from the foyer, you come to an office
that sits just off the entry and then
the master suite, isolated from the
rest of the home, ensuring complete
privacy.
