Both the houses and community are first- If you want to join your friends and neigh-

special house has a wide-open floor plan
that brings in the light and allows for stun-

That it has two – yes, two – master suites
just adds to the feeling that this is a special
home, indeed.

The heart of this home is the family room,
a very generous 16 feet by 24 feet, that opens
onto the lanai. With the spacious kitchen
(24-by-10), you have the perfect entertain-

island, double wall ovens and gas cooktop.
Cooking is a delight as you chat with guests
or watch your grandkids as they enjoy games
in the family room. If you need to escape for
a bit, there’s a den (13-by-10) that could easi-

It’s worth noting again that there are two

them protected we needed to learn more about them.”

Florida law now protects the rays.
“You can’t take them, or eat them, or anything like that,”
explained Ajemian.
But, that protection extends for just for 3 nautical miles
– 5.5 kilometers, or 3.4 miles – around Florida. Other states
don’t have similar laws. The scientist said that it’s import-

the current protections are effective for maintaining
a healthy population of the shark relatives.
“Their reproductive capacity is not as great as
your typical boned fish,” said Ajemian. “Sharks and

vulnerable.”
The rays are ocean-going, but also spend
time in estuaries and lagoons dining on hard-shelled in-
vertebrates. The recent study focused on this part of the
rays’ lives, what Ajemian called their “fine-scale habitat.”
“To do that, we implanted transmitters on them,” he
said.
Then the researchers sank some hydrophones into the
lagoon to listen as the rays went through their days.
“In some cases we tracked them for three days,” Ajemi-
an said. “We learned a lot about their habits.”
Which gives ray spotters some helpful hints to go watch

How does that apply in this deal after West leads the heart five against three no-trump? Q86

I would not have used Stayman with that North hand, because of the strong doubleton. Note Dealer: South; Vulnerable: Neither
also that it gave free information to the defenders. There is an interesting way around the
problem. North responds three hearts to show four spades and game-going values. If South The Bidding:

At trick one, East, because his highest heart is lower than the nine, should give count, not go

have meant South had four hearts, which he denied in the auction.)
