left knee and hips move enough down and laterally,
which will move your chest, shoulders and, most impor-
tantly, the left arm more in front of the lagging club. This
will ensure that the shaft maintains the forward lean.
Lastly, to really keep the ball down, make sure your left

‘Par Fore Paws’ golf tourney makes a lot of green for Humane Society
The Humane Society of St. Lucie Coun-
ty held its first Par Fore Paws Charity Golf
Tournament last Saturday at Trident Golf
Club. The tourney helped raise nearly
$25,000 for the homeless animals of Port
St. Lucie.
For the past two months, the HSSLC
has been working hard to raise money to
address the critical need to upgrade the
shelter’s laundry room facility. With over
200 cats and over 100 dogs currently in the
HSSLC’s care, the laundry load is growing
exponentially to provide comfortable ken-
nels and condos with clean blankets and
towels for their dogs and cats.
This tournament was very important to
the nonprofit Humane Society of St. Lucie
County and its no-kill shelter and wellness
center because it was a celebration of the
importance of community and organiza-
tions, and it emphasized the generosity of
local businesses – especially GL Homes, the
Economic Development Council of St. Lucie
County, Kyle G’s Oyster & Wine Bar, Oak and
Ember Steakhouse, Geneva Financial
and Marine Bank & Trust.
Congratulations were in or-
der to the Van Duzer team for
placing first. Scott Van Duzer
also won our 50/50 raffle, and
the Humane Society was able
to put 100 percent toward the
animals thanks to his incred-
ible generosity. A thank you
was also extended to Larry Azlina Goldstein, left, thanks partic-
ipants at the Par Fore Paws Charity

Humane Society of St. Lucie Coun-
Contest with a 50/50 prize and ty. The event last Saturday at the
