Family Centered Care

Joe Mutter

Serving My Neighbors In St. Lucie West
and Tradition Since 2003.

“I love, what I do and helping people live a fuller life”

Joann Avery & Joe Mutter Dear Neighbors:

I feel like I’m a part of the Mutter Family.

My new hearing aids have been an absolute wonder for me. My very first
family outing with them on we all went bowling and I decided not to tell my
family unless they noticed how well I was hearing and sure enough they did!
My granddaughter was amazed when I told her to whisper something to me
and I repeated it back to her! They were so thrilled with my new hearing aids
and couldn’t believe that I was actually wearing them because they couldn’t
see them! My son-in-law even got his flashlight out to shine in my ear to see
that they were actually there! I cannot believe how easy the transition has
been and Joe was there to help me at every step of the way. Every one at
Mutter’s Hearing Center has been lovely with helping me and truly bettering
my hearing.

Sincerely Joann Avery

in Time Survey, a survey of the homeless

population.

County Commissioners held a brief

discussion about a proposed Veterans As-

sistance Center, though their comments

focused more on the then-proposed loca-

tion, the Zora Neale Hurston home.

The now-historic building was home to

the influential author of African-American

literature. Hurston was born in 1891 in Al-

abama and died in 1960 in Fort Pierce.

“For a lot of reasons, it made a lot of

sense to look at that facility,” County Ad-

ministrator Howard Tipton told Commis-

sioners during their discussion.

He explained that the Hurston house

was located near the multi-modal trans-

portation center and a few blocks away

from the county’s Veteran Service Office.

However, upon further examination, the

historical building poses some challenges,

he said, explaining that it would cost a few

1 It’s a Comedy Corner three-
fer at the at the Sunrise The-
atre’s Black Box this Saturday. If
you remember Angel Salazar as
Chi-Chi, one of Tony Montana’s
closest confidants in the classic
1983 film “Scarface” or “Carli-
to’s Way,” you might not think of
him as a comic, but Salazar ac-
tually got his start in the ’80s as
a comic, and is one of the most
popular on the circuit today. Who
knew? Miami native Fasil Malik
is known for his one-liners and
deadpan delivery. He’s won nu-
merous comedy awards all over
South Florida and shares that he
is “a huge fan of people who don’t
heckle during comedy shows.” I
imagine we’re all for that. Bren-
dan Jay’s from Philly and current-
ly stationed in Miami. His forte
is impressions, which he honed
to perfection when stationed in
Las Vegas. Free popcorn. Yippee.

South’s sequence, a strong, artificial and forcing two clubs followed by two no-trump, Dealer: South; Vulnerable: Both
showed a balanced hand with a good 22-24 points. North dredged up a raise, more in
hope than expectation. The Bidding:

Declarer starts with eight winners: one spade, three hearts and four diamonds. As in SOUTH WEST NORTH EAST OPENING

chance. So, yesterday, when South could try only one or the other, he banked everything A Clubs
on the spade finesse.

This week, though, declarer can afford to discard a high diamond on the fourth club,
keeping the spade ace-queen and all four hearts. Then, when South takes trick five in
his hand, he can cash his other top hearts to see if they divide 3-3. Here, they do not, so
declarer cashes his four diamond tricks, discarding the heart five, and takes the spade
finesse.

Finally, note that if West has the spade king, he cannot be squeezed, because he discards
after South.
