The President
It is not easy to bring spring to someone's life. But it is not
impossible when the spring has already covered our hearts full of
kindness and love. I am honored to convey this message to you as
the newly elected Club President of the Leo Club of the University
of Kelaniya for the term 2021/2022.
On the way so far in my journey of Leoism, what I have learnt
is, being a Leo is all about being an awesome human being, who
loves every single person and every single living and non-living
being on this earth, regardless of their origin or importance. As
a Leo, our sole intention should be, to bring a beautiful smile to
someone's face, always having open hands to help anyone in need
and, keeping ears open to listen to anyone's outcry, and keeping a
foot ahead to bring someone closer to his/her dreams, while being
an outstanding leader who experiences all the good opportunities
for the betterment of the whole society and also ourselves.
As the president of the Leo Club of University of Kelaniya, I truly
and heartily show my gratitude to every leader and every member
who became a wonderful Leo, to bring our club to where we are
today and I invite you all to intertwine your hands with ours in
this journey of connecting the legacy of both ends of history and
future of UOK Leoism. You can develop yourself while helping the
community you live in, elevating our legacy day by day. Further, I
congratulate all the newly elected leaders and all the members
of the club wishing them the best of luck for a remarkable
term. Finally, and most proudly I appreciate and give my
gratitude to “Aurora” magazine team for your wonderful
effort to create this beautiful art.

importance that all of us Leos take steps in the right direction
to make a change in someone's life. Like the saying goes, small
acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can change the
world. We all are capable of amazing and inspirational acts of
kindness and love.
I have come a long way in my Leo journey and I'm still here
today because of the impact that I’ve seen the Leos create

The main aim of the project AGLEERO 2021 organized
by the Women Empowerment Avenue of the Leo Club
of University of Kelaniya was to empower, appreciate and
accept the LGBTQI+ Community with humanity and love.
Through AGLEERO, we were able to build up a platform for
each and every amazing soul creating a unique collection
of cells and energy to see the world through the eye of
love. The name AGLEERO itself conveyed the spirit of
love, where 'Aglea', the Greek goddess of beauty, splendor,

It is noteworthy to state that the audience

It is praiseworthy to mention that the

With the COVID-19; a novel coronavirus disease
spreading across the globe, the functioning
of universities has changed worldwide. Most of the
undergraduates are learning via the online platform

of learning online has led the students to face many
challenges such as increased levels of stress with many

When you talk about the pageant I think for me it
was a real moment of growth because I was a huge

I was a govern-ace of my university as a senator.
So I was very academically inclined as well . So the

an I think the pageant taught me how to become or
how to get in touch with my feminine side.
I didn’t even know how to put on makeup until
then. Apart from the kajal that I used as an eyeliner
there was nothing else that I used for makeup. So it
really taught me how to just connect with that side
of my femininity. I used to be a person who wasn’t
judging anybody and was a very open minded per-
son.
But when my mom signed me up for the pageant
actually my first reaction was “No way! I would
never do something like that” and really thought
a pageant was just Bing balls which taught about
their looks and nothing more. It really taught me
how narrow minded and judge-mental I actually
was by being in that assumption. So I also got to
know incredible women and also the power of Me-
dia.
The only reason that you think these girls don’t have
a brain is because every time the camera comes to
them they’re asked to smile. The only time they get
to show their intellect is when you have your top
5 questions and of course you have more than 6
million people watching you entirely and you have
only 30 seconds to answer and you are so stressed
so obviously you can also make a mistake.
It really showed me not to judge people and showed
me how wrong I was.

project was conducted on the 25th, 26th, and 27th as

Colourless Care!
He whispered through his eyes of molly
"May you have a colourful Holy!"
His gaze was sunny always
Reminding her of the old yellow days
Violet daisies forgot to lean
When she scrolled on the grass of green
Hanging down from a curtain of wet
Her tress dyed in velvet red
Eyes were coloured in a brisky ray
They were all in darkest grey
He was loyal as the sky of blue
No more rights stayed for a clue
What he had was a golden glare
Yet she yelled, "that's not fair"
He could remember she was silly
And more savoury as green chilly
Shrieking shrill and bombs of blare
All were white in black dot dare
Messed all up with no more care
