OUTGOING PPC (2022-2023) HANDING OVER TO NEWLY ELECTED PPC (2023-2026) At the start of the meeting, Jeffrey Baxter handed over the Meeting Minute File (2022-2023) to Fr. Jeffri Gumu. Jeffrey praised the newly appointed PPC members and invited them to seek information from prior members. Even though he had to take a sabbatical leave in the middle of his term, Jeffrey acknowledges both the priest and his fellow members for a job well done during the 2022-2023 period. He also mentioned on ongoing and forthcoming initiatives and recommended the new team to continue with the task to its completion: 1. Electrical & Rewiring work 2. Malaysian Parish Council (MPC) 3. Relocation of the mass STELLA MARIS PARISH, TANJUNG ARU
2 Following the handover, everyone was invited to a simple breakfast. After the outgoing PPC members left the meeting, the newly elected PPC members convened for their first meeting at 9.51 a.m. 3. 3.1 INTRODUCTION OF MEMBERS 3.1.1 Fourteen individuals, selected by parishioners, came forward as their names were announced during mass on August 5th and attended this first meeting. Fr. Jeffri opened the meeting by inviting each one to introduce themselves. 3.2 PPC LINEUP SELECTION 3.2.1 Following the introduction, three votes were cast to select a Chairman, Deputy Chairman, and Secretary. The result is as follows: Chairman - Charles Bisius Deputy Chairman - Arthur Asai Secretary - Paulyne Imbayan The candidate who obtained the second most votes for secretary was named assistant secretary. Due to the tie score between Jeannette and Zita, the decision was left to both Fr. Jeffri and Fr. Peter. The following lineup was also determined during their discussion: Assistant Secretary - Zita Munseh MINISTRY / GROUP ▪ Catechetical - Jeannette Ewang Mantais ▪ Liturgy - Rev. Dr. Peter Abas ▪ Youth - Jacques Jimmy Yangus ▪ Family Life - Conrad Bonchee & Irene Samuel ▪ SOCCOM - Paulyne Imbayan ▪ CARITAS - Julian Chia ▪ Creation Justice - Robert Lipon & Joseph Fung ▪ Migrant Intinerant - Marysia Francis ▪ Interfaith - Charles ▪ Laity - (to select a religious e.g Sister) ▪ Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) / Komuniti Kristian Dasar (KKD) - Peter Pakang & Zita Munseh ▪ Treasurer - Dr. Richard Albert Gontusan ▪ Bible - Arthur Asai 3.2.2 Fr Jeffri set a deadline of August 23rd for any objections. Once everyone has agreed. Fr Jeffri requested that the revised lineup be announced in the next Sunday's bulletin by SOCCOM. Actions by: Paulyne 3.2.3 Jeannette inquired whether all Catechetical groups had to be dissolved, to which Fr Jeffri replied yes and that this also applied to other groups as well. He encourages all ministries/groups to select their committee members, with a minimum of five (5) and no more than ten (10) members per ministry/group. Members of the PPC are not to be duplicated in any ministry. Paulyne has advice all to submit their committee list to her by August 28th , for compilation and submission to Fr Jeffri for approval. 3 3.3 PPC MEETINGS 3.3.1 Fr. Jeffri informs everyone that PPC meetings will be held every two months. The committee agreed to hold the meeting on a weekday, ideally a Wednesday, at 7 p.m. Fr. Jeffri's advice if a PPC member is unable to attend a meeting, he or she is required to notify the council. Representatives are not allowed to attend or replace members during meetings. Everyone understood and agreed to his advice. Action by: Info 3.4 RECOLLETIONS FOR PPC 3.4.1 A recollection will be organised for all newly elected PPC members, and Fr. Jeffri stated that it will be carried out together with the newly elected PPC of St. Thomas Moore Parish, Kepayan. 4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS i) Julian requests a list of all PPC members' contact information. Fr. Jeffri advised Paulyne to assemble the list and post them in the WhatsApp group. Action by: Paulyne ii) When Robert asks if the football team should be dissolved, Fr. Peter responds that it will remain unchanged until after the tournament. Action by: Robert 5. DATE OF NEXT MEETING Tentative date for next meeting will be announce in the future. 6.
