Annual Report
2019

“Everything about this production
was flawless.The costumes, make-
up, set design and even the stripped
down piano only with minor cast
accompaniment were phenomenal.
The entire cast was incredible, not a
weak link to be found. My group could
not stop talking about how much we
enjoyed this for days after.”

The Year in Review

The 2018 Season of Irresistible Fun was truly remarkable! We welcomed thousands
of new patrons, we reached new heights artistically, and we achieved new levels
of financial success. All of this was accomplished while working to fulfill our mission:
To create unparalleled musical theatre experiences that invigorate audiences and
enrich our communities.

We produced six incredible mainstage musicals – Murder for Two, Always… Patsy
Cline, Mamma Mia!, Guys and Dolls, Ordinary Days, and A 1940s Radio Christmas
Carol – that resulted in our highest season attendance ever at 56,361 visits! We averaged 90% of capacity
for the season, and two shows (Always… Patsy Cline, and A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol) sold out!

Our education program, with a focus on bringing up the next generation of musical theatre lovers and
supporters, also met new goals. This second year of our spring break camp for children in grades 3-5 nearly
tripled in attendance and reach from the first year. Our children’s productions of Beauty and the Beast and
Aladdin and the Magic Lamp and our teen musical Annie involved a total of 111 youth directly in our drama
camps, workshop, and productions, as well as hosting over 3,000 youth in the audience.

Broadway Rose Theatre Company continues to receive funding from a variety of sources. In 2018, our
phenomenal ticket sales accounted for 62% of our income at nearly $1.9 million, while donors and events
accounted for 38% at over $1 million.

With your support and some extraordinary gifts, we began 2019 in a very strong financial position with over
$1.4 million in our cash reserves, a 42% increase over 2018. We strive to always produce shows with the
highest artistic quality, with incredible artists and designers, while we keep our ticket prices affordable and
accessible to all. We are proud of our ability to do
both extremely well!

On behalf of the staff and the Board of Directors,
I want to thank you for making our 27th season
irresistibly fun and for continuing to support us at
every show and event. I am honored to work with
you as we move forward together.
