SPEECH
What is Speech (or talk)?

• A speech is a public address to an audience. It can be during formal and informal occasion
or ceremony.

• Types of speeches: ‘Thank you’ speech, ‘Welcome’ speech, ‘Farewell Speech’, topics of
interest, social issues

Model Sentence for Format of a Speech
1. Start your speech with a greeting and followed by a self-introduction
Example:
A very good morning I bid to Mr. Principal, Senior Assistants, teachers and friends (school
assembly)
A very good morning I bid to the judges, time-keepers, teachers and friends (competition)
