 Explain to pupils about formal and informal registers.
 Read the instruction and ask pupils which register is more suitable

to be used.
 Tell pupils to write a reply letter using the register picked.
 Once everyone has finished, tell pupils to exchange their letters

with the person sitting next to them.
 Ask pupils to read their partner’s letter and identify the writer’s

attitude in the letter. Examples:

– What is the writer’s opinion on both laptops and dekstops?

– Which computer does the writer prefer?
 Tell pupils to write their answers on the side of the page and

return the letter back to their partners.
 Ask pupils to check whether their partner’s answers are correct or
