what is
EXCRETORY
SYSTEM ?
The excretory system is the system of an
organism's body that performs the function of
excretion, the bodily process of discharging
wastes. The Excretory system is responsible for
the elimination of wastes produced by
homeostasis.
what is
URINARY
SYSTEM ?
The urinary system's function is to
filter blood and create urine as a waste
by-product. The organs of the urinary
system include the kidneys, renal
pelvis, ureters, bladder and urethra.
The body takes nutrients from food
and converts them to energy.

PHYLUM PORIFERA
·Excretion such as carbon
dioxide and ammonia from its
body through the main pore
called osculum into water
Example: Sponge
PHYLUM CNIDARIA
-Nitrogenous waste products like
ammonia are removed from the
cells through the gastrovascular
cavity into the water
Example: Hydra
PHYLUM PLATYHELMINTHES
-Most wastes diffuse from
cells into surrounding water.
Ciliated flame cells move fluid
containing wastes through
branced ducts opening to the
outside via excretory pores
Example: Planaria

NEPHRIDIA
PHYLUM
ANNELIDA
The structures nephridia found in pairs in
most segmented earthworm's body. They
secrete dilute urine.
Urine includes water, mineral salts,
ammonia and urea
Tubular structures called nephridia in each
segment remove wastes from blood
Example: Earthworm
PHYLUM Snails have an excretory organ called
MOLLUSCA thenephidria
Water, minerals, and other substances go
through the nephidria to filter.
Nephridium collect liquid wastes from the
coelom and dump them in the mantle cavity,
where they are pumped out of the shell.
Example: Snail

malphigian tubules
In insect (terrestrial atrhopods),
Malpighian tubules serve as
excretory organs. Malpighian
tubules remove nitrogenous
wastes from the blood and
nearby tissues
Example Terrestrial
Athropods: (INSECT)
GRASSHOPPER
ANT
FUN FACT: In crustaceans
(aquatic arthropod), crayfish
and other crustaceans have two
types of excretory organ which
are gills and antennal glands.
Gills excrete carbon dioxide
while antennal glands excrete
ammonia, water and salt
EXCRETORY and 07
urinary SYSTEM
BY KIDNEY IN
VERTEBRATES
Vertebrates for example
fishes and amphibia have
2 kidneys that filter waste
from the blood.
Each one filters the blood
and passes using the
bladder
The bladder empties into
cloaca
Vertebrates for example reptiles and aves also
have kidneys and excretory pathways same like
fishes and amphibia
The difference between them, reptiles and aves
excrete uric acids in a thick pasty material to
conserve water.
The waste product uric acids doesn't go to a
bladder (no bladder). Instead it is sent straight to
the digestive system and is excreted with the feces
through the anus.

URETHRA Mamalia for example dog have 2
kidneys that filter waste from
URINARY SYSTEM IN HUMAN the blood every 45 minutes
The mammalia like human has
complete urinary system that
consists a pair of kidney, a pair
of urether, a urinary bladder
and urethra
The function of urinary system
is to filter out and eliminate
metabolic, nitrogenous waste
and help maintain homeiostasis
in human body

Urine give colour that
reflect to your dinking
of water, it is usually
light yellow if you are
drinking enough water
and dark yellow if you
are not.
