ต้นกล้ากับขอทาน

วนั นี้เปนวนั ท่ีสดใส ตนกลาจงึ ต้ังใจขับรถไปทําบญุ ทว่ี ดั แถวบาน
It was a beautiful day so ton kla decided to go to the nearby temple

วดั ทต่ี น กลามกั จะไป ตัง้ อยบู นยอดเขาสูงตอ งนง่ั รถประมาณครง่ึ ช่วั โมง
The temple ton kla is going to normally takes half an hour.

ระหวางทางนนั้ ตนกลาไดเ ห็นคนตาบอดคนหนง่ึ เเบกของอยางหนกั เดนิ ขึน้ เขามาแตต น กลาก็ไมไ ดส นใจอะไร
จึงขับรถตอ เพยี งเเตก ําลงั ครนุ คิดอยใู นใจวา ทางขึ้นเขาน้ีชันมากเดินก็ลําบาก

Along the way, he saw a blind boy along the side of the trail who was carrying several bags up
the trail but didn’t pay him much attention and kept driving. But he thought that who ever that was must
have a hard time since the trail is very treacherous

พอถึงวัดตนกลาไดเหน็ คนคนหนึ่งท่หี นาตาคุนๆทําความสะอาดลานวดั อยู”เเต
เขากไ็ มไดใสใจอะไรเเละรบี ไปตอ เเถวใสบ าตร

Once arrived at the temple, he saw a familiar face cleaning and
sweeping at the temple grounds, but again he didn’t pay him any mind and went
in line for the monk offerings

ขนึ้ จงึ จาํ ไดว า ชายผนู ีเ้ ปนยาจกทม่ี ากวาดลานวดั ใหอาหารหมา และ ชว ยเหลอื คนท่ีมาเยี่ยมชมวัดที่วัดนบ้ี อยๆ

During the day inside the temple, he kept seeing the same boy after getting closer, he realized it was
the same boy he saw on the temple grounds, feeding stray dogs and helping others

หลังจากท่ีขอทานทําหนาทขี่ องตนเองเสร็จเขาจึงไดม านงั่ พกั ใตตนไม
ใหญเ เหงหน่งึ ตนกลาสงั เกตเุ ห็นเขามาสกั พักเเลว ถึงเเมวาสภาพของขอทานจะ
ดูเหนื่อยลา เเตใ บหนา ของเขาก็ดูสงบน่งิ เเละยม้ิ เเยม อยเู สมอ

After he finished his daily tasks he would always sit under a tree
for shade and to cool down, even though he looked ragged his smile
never faded.



ตนกลาจึงตัดสนิ ใจเดินเขา ไปทัก
ขอทาน: “อาว! สวสั ดีครับคณุ ตนกลา ”
ตน กลา: “สวสั ดคี รับพ่ี เปนอยางไรบา ง ไมคอ ยไดเหน็ หนากันเลย”

Boy: “Oh! Hello there mr tonkla!”
Tonkla: “Hi there, how are you? We see eachother often but we never said hi”

ตนกลานาํ ขา วมาใหขอทาน พรอ มเงนิ จํานวนเลก็ นอย
ขอทาน: “ขอบคุณครับ แตผ มขอไมร บั เงนิ ไวนะครับ”

ตนกลา: “รบั ไวเ ถอะพ่ี คนกนั เอง”
ขอทาน: “ไมเปน ไรครบั ไมเ ปนไรจรงิ ๆ”

Tonkla bought him some lunch and a small amount of money
Boy: “Thank you but i didn’t do it for the money, Please keep it.”

Tonkla: “Please keep it, it’s the least i can do.”
Boy: “It's alright! I insist.”

หลงั จากเขาไดไ หวพระ และทําบุญเสร็จแลว ก็ใกลเ วลาพลบ
คํา่ ตน กลาจึงตดั สินใจรบี ขบั รถกลบั บาน

The sun rose and was about to set, tonkla hopped back in his car
and hurried home.

ระหวา งทางกลบั อยดู ๆี ฝนก็ตก
Though along the way it suddenly started to rain,

ถนนลื่น และตน กลาไมสามารถมองเหน็ ทางได
The roads and trail got slippery and it got harder to see the road ahead.

เขาเลยขับรถไปชนตนไมเขา
He lost control and crashed into a tree.



ยงั โชคดที ี่ตน กลาไมเจ็บตวั อะไรมาก ตน กลายงั มสี ติโทรเรียกเบอรฉ กุ เฉนิ
ในขณะเดยี วกนั ไมมีทาทที ่ีฝนจะหยดุ ตก

Tonkla was lucky he wasn’t hurt as badly, and was conscious enough to
call 911 while the rain got heavier.



“อา วคณุ ตน กลา น่ีเองเปน อะไรมากรเึ ปลาครับมาใหผ มชว ย”
“Are you okay?! I came to help!”

ชายยาจกจงึ ชว ยตน กลาออกมาจากรถ และพาไปนั้งพักทศี่ าลาใกลๆ
The same boy helped Ton kla out of his car and led him to a small hut nearby.

ตน กลา: “ทําไมพี่เปนคนดีอยา งี้!? ชวยเหลือ และ ใหส ง่ิ ตา งๆกับคนอื่นโดยทไี่ มหวงั ผล
อะไร พ่ที าํ อยางงท้ี กุ วนั ไดยงั ไง พ่ีไมเ หน่อื ยเหรอ?”

Tonkla: “How are you so nice? You helped people with so many things and did
not expect anything in return?”

ขอทาน: “ผมนบั ถอื ในหลักธรรมสงั ควตั ถุ 4 ครบั มันคอื การอยูรวมกับคนอนื่ อยา งสันติ”

Boy: “well i followed the bases of sympathy, which is where we all live together in
peace.”

ขอทาน: “ใหคนที่ตอ งการมากกวา ผมไปแลว ”

Tonkla: “why are you such a big believer? What happened to all your stuff?”
Boy: “i gave it to those who need it more than i do.”

“ครับ ลากอนครับ”

“well I’m off to the hospital”
“safe travels”
