Enter the Year of Mercy
Have a joyful and beau ful third week of Advent.
“How much I desire that the year to come will be Blessings, love and peace,
steeped in mercy, so that we can go out to every man
and woman, bringing the goodness and tenderness of Fr. Ma
God,” said Pope Francis in proclaiming the Holy Year of
Mercy, which began on December 8 and will end No‐
vember 20, 2016, the Feast of Christ the King. “May the
balm of mercy reach everyone.” What, exactly does
Chris an mercy entail? A good place to begin might be
the church’s teaching on the corporal (physical) and spir‐
itual works of mercy. Taking a lead from the wisdom of
the church and our Holy Father, we can bring our ac on
plan for steeping the world in mercy.
