Vocabulary
Determine: you what to keep going and not give up. It also mean to get something done when you
what.
Enact: to make a bill that passes.
Enforce: compel observance of or compliance with a law, rule, or obligation.
Chapter One The Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776. 56 people signed it, the
main five people that signed it were Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Roger Sherman,
Robert Livingston, and Benjamin Franklin. Out of the main five people that signed it,
John Hancock signed it first. Thomas Jefferson was the one that wrote the Declaration
of Independence. The Declaration of Independence area reasons why the 13 colonies
wanted to be free from Great Britain's government.
Chapter two: Legislative Branch - Define and Summarize
Legislative branch and the judicial Branch can enact laws although it does not have the power to enforce
them.
They are responsible for making the country's laws.
The Define of legislating branch
Government that writes, debates, and passes laws. Making laws can be called legislating.
This is apart of government that writes and passes laws to make the country safe for all people.
Chapter Three Executive Branch - Define and Summarize
In the government there are three different branches. Legislative, Executive, and the Judicial
branch. The Executive branch enforces the laws that were passed by congress. The people that are part
of the Executive branch are the president of the United States, vice president, the executive office of the
president, and the cabinet. There are 15 people in the cabinet
Chapter 4: Judicial Branch - Define and Summarize
Judicial branch can enact laws although it does not have the power to enforce them.
Congress is able to determine the number of Supreme Court judges.
The Judicial Branch is determined by the U.S.
The defined of Judicial Branch
responsible for interpreting the laws passed by the legislative branch and enforced by the
executive branch.
A part of government that interpreting that will be passed by legislative branch.
Chapter 5: Amendments Define and Bill of Rights
The first 5 amendments are, freedom of speech, right to bear arms (own guns) soldiers can’t be
quartered in homes, be safe in their own house, rights of an accused person (no one has to be held to
answer questions for the capital). The main reason for the Bill of Rights is to be guaranteed individual
freedom. The Bill of Rights area the first ten amendments and Amendments area a chnage in a document.
