INTRODUCTION 01 “KESULTANAN MELAYU PAHANG”
INTRODUCTION OF MALAY SULTANATE OF PAHANG In general, the Pahang Malay Sultanate is divided into several levels. The first stage, when the Siamese government in Pahang was attacked and taken over by the Melaka government. On 6 August 1882, Sultan Ahmad Al-Muadzam Shah became the first Sultan of Pahang. His Majesty defeated his brother-in-law Bandahara Seri Maharaja Tun Mutahir through a civil war due to family disputes and caused the people of Pahang to be divided for a while. While retreating to Johor, the Treasurer Seri Maharaja Tun Mutahir and his son Tun Koris died in Sedili in May 1863. Wan Ahmad was then appointed as the Treasurer of Siwa Raja and was given the title of sultan on August 6, 1882. So from this sultan's offspring, the rule of the Sultanate of Pahang remained until today.
Flag Of Pahang State flag of Pahang Darul Makmur The state flag contains two colors which are white at the top and black at the bottom. The color white symbolizes the sovereignty and governance of the state covering matters related to customs, customs, laws, morals and the powers of a Sultan who rules this state. Meanwhile, the color black is the color of the greatness of the Treasurer in the past who once ruled this state.
02 THE HISTORY
● In Khmer, the word 'Pahang' means 'timah'. In the past, many tin mines were worked in Pahang, especially around the Tembeling River. Perhaps it is from the Khmer word that the name Pahang arose. In old Malay writing, Pahang is known as Inderapura ● Pahang is the largest state with the highest mountain and the longest river in the Malay Peninsula (Malaysia), is the oldest state after Patani (now in Thailand), which is older than Malacca. ● The pattern of governance of the Islamic Malay Sultanate in the state of Pahang came into existence after the establishment of the Islamic Kingdom in Malacca. The first Sultan of Pahang was the son of Sultan Mansur Shah, Malacca (c.1470 AD). INTRODUCTION OF PAHANG
Ahmad Muʽazzam Sultan Ahmad Al-Muʽazzam Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Ali (23 May 1836 – 9 May 1914) was the sixth Raja Bendahara of Pahang and the founder and first modern Sultan of Pahang. Commonly known as Tun Wan Ahmad before his accession, he seized the throne in 1863 after defeating his elder brother Tun Mutahir in the Pahang Civil War, assuming the title Sri Paduka Dato' Bendahara Siwa Raja Tun Ahmad. In the early years of his reign, Pahang descended into turmoil, with various attempts made by the surviving sons of Tun Mutahir, based in Selangor, to overthrow him. This led to Pahang's decisive involvement in the Selangor Civil War that successfully brought it to a conclusive end.
Mahmud Shah II of Pahang Sultan Mahmud Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu’azzam Shah (4 February 1868 – 19 June 1917) is the second modern Sultan of Pahang who ruled from 1914 to 1917. Born as Tun Long Mahmud, he was the second and eldest surviving son of Paduka Sri Baginda Sultan Besar Ahmad Al-Mu’azzam Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Ali by his second wife, Che’ Ungku Pah Binti Al-Marhum Dato’ Temenggong Sri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim.
Abdullah al-Muʽtassim Billah Shah of Pahang Sultan ʽAbdullah Al-Muʽtassim Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Al-Muʽazzam Shah (الله عبد 12 ,شاهͿ با المعتصم October 1874 – 22 June 1932) was the third modern Sultan of Pahang who ruled from 1917 to 1932. Born at the Royal Palace, Pekan Lama, 12 October 1874, he was the third son of Sultan Ahmad Muʽazzam and Cik Kusuma Sokma binti Tok Minal Daeng Koro. He has a stepbrother, Mahmud Shah II who was Raja Bendahara.
Abu Bakar of Pahang Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’azzam Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Abdullah Al-Mu’tassim Billah Shah GCMG (29 May 1904 – 5 May 1974), was the fourth modern Sultan of Pahang. Born on 29 May 1904 at Istana Hinggap, Pekan, he was the second son of Sultan Abdullah Al-Mu’tassim Billah Shah by his second wife, Kalsum binti Abdullah.[1] Succeeding his father in 1932, he quickly became known as a friendly and approachable ruler by his subjects. During the Japanese occupation of Malaya, he discreetly encouraged resistance movements such as the Askar Wataniah, Force 136 and the MPAJA. However, due to his penchant for marrying commoners, including several popular actresses and singers, he was less popular with other Malay rulers and they declined to choose him as Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia in five separate times.
Ahmad Shah of Pahang Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’azzam May 22 – 1930 October المرحوم سلطان حاج أحمد شاه المستعین باͿ إبن المرحوم سلطان أبو بكر رعایة الدین المعظم شاه; 24: Jawi (Shah 2019) was the fifth modern Sultan of Pahang, and also served as the seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia from 26 April 1979 to 25 April 1984. His abdication as Sultan was decided by the Royal Council at an extraordinary meeting on 11 January 2019. A special amendment was passed on the state constitution that gave the body more power for this decision, citing the Sultan's incapability to rule due to his failing health.[2] The abdication announced the next day which was retroactively effective on the day of the Royal Council meeting, paving the way to his son, Abdullah to succeed him as Sultan immediately, and subsequently be elected as the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong later the same month.
Abdullah of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah listen; السلطان عبدالله رعایة الدین المصطفى باͿ شاه الحاج ابن المرحوم سلطان حاج أحمد شاه المستعین باͿ :Jawi (Billah in'Musta-Al (help·info); born 30 July 1959) has reigned as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia and the 6th Sultan of Pahang since January 2019. He was proclaimed as sultan on 15 January 2019, succeeding his father, Sultan Ahmad Shah, whose abdication was decided at a Royal Council meeting on 11 January 2019. On 24 January 2019, days after his accession to the throne of Pahang, he was elected as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the head of state, of Malaysia,[4] and was sworn in on 31 January 2019. He was also a member of the FIFA Council from 2015 to 2019.[5] Abdullah had considerable involvement in the 2020–22 Malaysian political crisis

Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu’adzam Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Bendahara Ali (1882 - 1914) IMAGE : SULTAN PAHANG I ACCESSION NO: 2001/0024831W ❏ His Majesty Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah is the son of Bendahara Ali with Che Long, also known as Che Lingga. Bendahara Ali was the ruler of Pahang State from 1806 to 1857. ❏ His Majesty Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah was born on 23 May 1836 corresponding to 5 Muharram 1252 H, at his father's palace on Pulau Maulana, Pekan. Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah is the fifth son of eleven brothers. He was proclaimed Sultan on 16 August 1882. ❏ His Majesty Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah passed away on 9 May 1914, after reigning for approximately fifty full years on the throne of the kingdom of Pahang. He died leaving several wives, sons and daughters, and was buried at the Royal Tombs in Kampung Marhum, Kuala Pahang on 11 May 1914.
Duli Yang Maha Mulia Al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu’adzam Shah (1914 - 1917) IMAGE : SULTAN PAHANG II ACCESSION NO: 2001/0024263W ❏ The life partnership between His Majesty Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah and Che Pah, one of His wives was blessed with a son named Tengku Mahmud on Friday 4 February 1868 corresponding to 10 Syawal 1254H. ❏ His Majesty Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah appointed his son Tengku Mahmud as Regent on July 22, 1889 to assist him in state government affairs. Then, according to the agreement of Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah which was confirmed in the State Assembly on 11 October 1891, Tengku Mahmud was given the title of Tengku Besar Pahang which is a title for a future Sultan. ❏ His Majesty succeeded his father as the Reigning Sultan on 9 May 1914 and Tengku Mariam was appointed as Tengku Puan Besar. His Majesty's reign as Sultan was short-lived, when he died on 19 June 1917 at Rumah Rehat Kuala Pahang.Kuala Pahang on 11 May 1914.

He is the fifth son of Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Bandahara Ali. ● He was appointed to the throne of the state of Pahang after the death of his uncle, Sultan Mahmud. His Majesty was installed as Sultan Abdullah Al-Mu'tasim Billah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Al-Mu'adzam Shah in May 1919, at Balairung Seri Istana Seri Terentang, Pekan with full ceremony. ● His Majesty is also very interested in art and culture where during His Majesty's reign, art and cultural activities such as dance and gamelan were very actively held. Traditional Malay sports and games are also often held such as boat racing, menuba, hunting and silat.

Al-Marhum married His Majesty Tengku Ampuan Hajjah Afzan binti Tengku Panglima Tengku Muhammad on 24 April 1954. ❏ Al-Marhum was appointed several times as Regent when Al-Marhum Seri Paduka Ayahanda Al-Marhum went abroad in the years 1956, 1959 and 1965.
