Chambers County Library RETURNS! BABY & ME + STORYTIME Baby & Me starting September 3 will be every Tuesday morning at 10:30AM! Ages: 0-2 Storytime starting September 5 will be every Thursday morning at 10:30AM! ’ Ages: 2-5 Kick-off Week | June 3-6 | 10AM-Noon Adventure Begins at Your Library! Our Summer Reading Program kick off week starts June 3! Come to the library to sign up! Don’t forget to grab your passport to keep track of your reading time and earn lots of prizes! Monday: Sno-cones!* Tuesday: Cotton Candy Day!* Wednesday: Popcorn Day!* Thursday: Craft Day!* Kids’ programs 2pm - 3pm June 11: Passport to Fun & Hot Dogs with the Sheriff! Join us at the library where the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department will be providing hot dogs, and Chase from Paw Patrol will be visiting! Learn about somewhere new through food, crafts, and other exciting activities!* June 18: Bubble Bash! Come to the library for foam, music, sno-cones* and fun! Don’t forget your sunscreen, towel, and lawn chair! June 25: Texas Snakes & More! @American Legion Hall Mr. Clint “The Snake Man” from Texas Snakes & More will be here to educate us about all the different types of snakes and reptiles you may encounter out in the wild! July 1-6: Around the World! Visit the library for an outdoor adventure! Poster with maps of different countries will be posted on our sidewalk. Can you name them all? Turn in your completed sheet for a yummy treat!* July 9: Anahuac Wildlife Refuge Explore and connect with nature! Stephanie Martinez from Anahuac Wildlife Refuge will tell us all about it! The Chambers County Sheriff’s Department will be providing hot dogs, and Chase from Paw Patrol will be visiting! Raising Cane’s will provide drinks*. Tuesday: Craft Day with Chick-fil-A! Come in and create a fun craft* with the Chick-fil-A cow! Wednesday: Tattoo Day with Andy the Armadillo! Cool off with Andy from Texas Roadhouse and get a tattoo*! Thursday: Pop In with Stuart! Pop in for some popcorn* and say hi to Stuart from Chicken Express! Kids’ programs 2pm - 3pm June 13: First Responders Day! Come to the library to get a free sno cone* and meet your local first responders from Chambers County and the City of Mont Belvieu! Tour and learn about a firetruck, ambulance, game warden air boat, and more! June 20: The Unlazy River! Put on your sunscreen, grab a pool floatie, and try out the obstacle course set up around the library along with fun lawn games and popsicles! Feel free to bring your lawn chair! Friends of the Chambers County Library System The Friends of the Chambers County Library System consists of members and volunteers who actively promote Library services and resources while sharing their love of books with the community. The Friends foster a positive relationship between the Library and the community, secure volunteers, and raise funds to support the Library System. The Friends work toward the enrichment of library services and to finance library projects not possible with county funds. How do I join the Friends? Membership is open to all individuals. Annual membership dues are $5 for individuals, $25 for small businesses, and $100 for corporate entities. If you’d like to join the Friends, visit any of our locations and ask to fill out a membership form. Featured Library Services WIFI ACCESS CURBSIDE PICKUP Contactless faxing, printing, checking out materials, and even notary services all through curbside! Reserve library materials online through our website or by calling the library directly. Let us know you have arrived by calling us and we will come out to your vehicle. Pop open your trunk, roll down a window, or open a back door and we will place the items inside. Library Advisory Board The Chambers County Library Advisory Board is a group of 7 citizens from the county, appointed by Commissioners’ Court. Terms for the board members are for two years, with three full terms allowed per member. Advisory Board considerations involve all public policies used by the Library System. These include the library mission statement, fees and fines, loan periods, and long-range planning. Board members serve as contact persons for community residents who might have interests and concerns about the library system. The Advisory Board does not act as an administrative group; the County Librarian is the executive officer for the Library System, and the Advisory Board provides direction through policy decisions and advice offered.
