Christmas ANNUAL BLESSING AND LIGHTING CEREMONY
In prayerful remembrance and celebration of the many tributes that were sent in from our friends and benefactors,
sisters and staff gathered in the foyer of the Motherhouse for the blessing and lighting of the Christmas Tribute Tree.

a new family lounge. This special area is now a gathering
space for friends and family while visiting sisters and
residents in the IHM Health Care Center.

Friends gathered at the Detroit Athletic Club to honor and celebrate Mareda-Toni Babcock. The Theresa Maxis Award
award recognizes community leaders who embody the values and vision of the IHM community: deep faith, pioneering
spirit, service to the poor, commitment to justice. Proceeds from the event benefit IHM ministries and the retirement

Margaret Brennan IHM Institute
for Spirituality, Church and Culture
Sister Margaret was elected general superior of the IHM congregation in 1966 and ministered
as president through 1976. She led the congregation through the many changes and opportunities
made available through the second Vatican Council and she served as president of the
Leadership Conference of Women Religious in 1972.
After serving as IHM president, she spent a year of study include Claudia Bennett,
at St. Joseph College in Toronto and became the first Jane Hammang-Buhl;
