Challenge
towards excellent in Business

BY: NUR AUNI AFIFAH BINTI MOHD SUKRI
[email protected]

1 STRATEGY

The business management by walking about and discussing strategic matters with people and
ensuring that the strategy is a living document and the basis for operational matters. One organization
uses the term work plan instead of strategic plan in order to emphasis its focus for everyday operations.

Organizations must recognize the need to have a strategic plan to guide the organization,
getting the right balance between strategic and operational plans is critical in order to engage people
throughout the organization.

2 LEADERSHIP

In organizational, someone who responsible become leader to lead one organization and by thie
method, one organization will be more excellence. Leadership challenges identified include the need for
support and drive at senior levels, building support from middle managers and ensuring consistent
messages from leaders throughout the organization. Challenge to lead is weight but by this method
can increase worker's performance and organization so that more excellent in business.

3 PEOPLE

The main challenges in this area are employee and managerial engagement, effective
communication, and performance management processes and systems. Having an open culture in the
organization is important to ensure that people at all levels are able to have an input to a variety of
issues and have a say on any matters. This means everyone must be involved in running inside business
organization for improvement and making more developed and excellent business. The person
responsible is the good manager had also provided training on the benefits of continuous improvement
to these leaders and technicians.

4 CUSTOMER

Apart from improving customer
service, these strategies and activities
also help build internal learning and
appreciation of the organization as a
whole. One organization had placed
considerable effort in improving internal
processes and systems before paying more attention to external customers. The organizations should
have placed an emphasis on building an understanding of who the organization’s customers are, an
appreciation of their importance and what their needs are in order to improve customer service.

Building and understanding of each individual’s role in delivering customer satisfaction, whether
they have front line, backroom or leadership roles is seen as important throughout organizations. One
organization identified that so much work had been done on communicating with external customers
that it now had to pay more attention to internal customers.

5 DATA AND INFORMATION

Data and information that there is everywhere organization needs to be changed from paper to
an electronic format. This is good suggestion to maintain business excellence. Many organizations face
the challenge of having access to so much data and information and the need to be selective in what is
produced and how it is used.

A strategy used by some is to focus on exception
based reporting to avoid information overload.

To ensure business has been excellent,
data and information can also in convert from
data base use format paper to one electronic
format so that business go well and quick.

TIPS SECTION: 5 REASONS

CHARITYTO GIVE TO

A GREAT WAY TO
COMMEMORATE LOVE

Love is a much needed emotion in today’s world and it is
always welcomed. It is a great way of cashing in on your
own moral savings. Many people donate to charities that
they are passionate about, they also donate to remember a
loved one or to remember their own troubles. It is one of
the best ways to show the world that you do indeed care
about something.

CHARITY REFLECTS ON YOUR OWN
INNER VALUES

For many people, charity is a direct reflection of their own
inner values. It is a deeply fulfilling exercise to be able to
give to a cause that you are passionate about. In many
cases people reflect on their own troubles and give away
to charities that they can relate to morally. It also offers
an insight into your own self and the areas where you
could improve and get help.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE
SOMETHING BACK

Charity is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the world that
we take so much from. Charity can be given to your old
community, to your old school or even to your old neighborhood.
It is also a sign that you have not forgotten where you came from
and are grateful to your past.

CHARITY BOOSTS MOTIVATION

Charity will help you boost your own motivation to go
further in life. A lot of people all around the world work
diligently towards the charities that they have an interest
in. Since it is a very fulfilling act to give, it will help you
add to your own personal motivation too. People who
donate are often driven to donate more and a person can
only donate more if they have more.

HELPS EARN RESPECT

Donations can help you earn respect in many areas.
Philanthropy is a noble act that only people with a good
heart can fall into and it also earns you a lot of respect
from your peers and society in general. Other than that, it
will also earn you the undying respect of the people or
organizations that you donate to.

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT TIPS

BY: NOOR FATMA DIANA MOHAMAD KHALIFAH

1 Look after your customers

If you look after your customers and are concerned for their
welfare and their satisfaction, you will find that they will keep
coming back to you for their requirements. This will result in
higher sales and profits. The business should never lose sight
of the fact that it is the customer who provides the income and they are therefore perhaps the
most important link in the chain.

2 Watch your buying

If you buy a1t the right price this will give you a better
margin and flexibility to sell at the right price and check
your prices compared with other suppliers and match up the cost as well as the service offered
before making decisions.

3 Chase up all money owing

D1on’t allow credit to run too far ahead. If your
customers are behind in their payments, give them a
friendly reminder and see if the problem can be resolved.
Your cash flow is so important to the success of your
business.

4 Keep good records

If your record1s and systems are set up properly, the
information that you will be able to obtain from them
is invaluable. The information should be pulled out weekly or monthly and be used to monitor
just how the business is going.

5 Watch your wages cost

1
It is important for staff to be paid what they are worth
and in line with the market levels. However, be very

wary of staff that are not productive and either need a talking to or need to be dismissed. Do not
carry staff who are costing the business money.

6 Keep close to your advisers

1
Keep your accountant constantly aware of the business
and listen to their guidance. While there is a cost involved, the cost that is given may save the
business a lot of money and headaches.

7 Watch your expenses

1
Make it a point to train everyone involved in the
business to watch costs. It is amazing how even
small savings can add up. Low costs will mean
high profit which means security for jobs etc.
