REDUCE »REUSE RECYCLE DISPOSE - Manly Council

2 Unwanted items Disposal option Batteries (car) Chemical Clean Out Belrose Kimbriki Call your local car battery retailer or service station to see

DISPOSAL OPTIONS FOR COMMON HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
Contact details can be found at the bottom of the document

Think before you throw out…

Can the item be repaired?
Will the retailer or manufacturer take the item back?
Can you give it to charity, friends – or sell it?
Could you give it away on www.freecycle.org or www.reuseitnetwork.org - websites promoting free
community exchange of unwanted items?

Consider the Waste Hierarchy which lists ways to reduce and manage your waste and to stop
resources from ending up in landfill: REDUCE » REUSE » RECYCLE » DISPOSE

For Waste and Recycling Facility contact details and further particulars please go to the end of
the document.

If you are throwing whitegoods and metal items out in your General Clean Up Collection please
separate them from your pile for recycling.

Manly Council accepts excess recycling – place in an appropriate container on collection day (eg.
not plastic bags).

Plastic containers marked 1 to 5 and (numbers can usually be found on bottom of the
container) can be placed in your yellow recycling bin.

Excess cardboard can be placed in a neat pile next to your paper bin on collection day.
