Autism is a disease that has affected millions of people and continues to
affect people today. Despite their shortcomings, they’re still regular kids, just
like you and me.
Autism usually occurs when the patient is two or three years old. About ⅓ of
autism patients are non-verbal. They also prefer to be alone. Because of
this, they get bullied in school and don’t have many friends. They also don’t
learn things as quickly as other people do. They need other people to things
for them. But, don’t judge a book by its cover and don’t take these kind of
people for granted.
Autism has a 90% chance of happening to anyone. It has a 1 in 68 chance of
happening in boys and a 1 in 42 chance of happening in girls. When the
patient is two or three years old and gets autism, it’s likely going to continue
into their high school or college years. 50% of teens who have autism
become adults.
You can donate money to the Autism Society of America (ASA) right now.
Even the smallest donation helps. So start now and end autism forever!
Snapchat is a very popular app to use if you are a teen. But it can also be very
bad. Today, we are going to look at the truth about Snapchat.
Let’s start with the obvious: it’s addictive. You don’t want your kids spending
too much time on it. Studies show that parents should end the screen time two
hours before kids go to bed. Don’t feed into the lies.
Secondly, Snapchat can not be saved. This is because screenshots can be
shared on social media for a certain amount of time. It’s not harmless people.
Deal with it!
Finally, there are some questionable things happening in the Snapchat world. A
19 year old daycare worker was fired after sending a weird photo at work. Also,
underage communicating happened. A 14 year old boy saved photos of a 15
year old girl topless. Yeah, it’s not as safe as you think.
So, next time you really want to download the app, ask yourself this: Is it safe?
Think about it before you hit Install.

The Sandlot follows the lives of Scotty Smalls, Benny “the Jet” Rodriguez, Squints Palledorous,
Yeah-Yeah McClennan, the Timmons twins, Bertram Weeks, and Ham Porter. It is a great movie
with a great plot and a positive message.
The movie begins with Scotty (who’s obviously the new kid) wanting to visit the baseball
sandlot neighborhood kids play on after school. He asks to play and the kids give him a shot. He
has one problem: He can’t play. All of the kids call him names except Benny. With Benny,
Scotty gets a glove. He tells his mom that he made a few friends in the Sandlot crew. The next
day, Scotty asks his dad to play ball with him. After a few minutes, Scotty’s dad plays ball.
Scotty eventually gets a black eye. Scotty’s parents put ice on it. The wound eventually heals.
Later, the gang asks Scotty to sleepover at Squints’ house. Scotty hears a weird noise on the way.
When he gets in, Scotty, asks what it is. Ham says that that’s the sound of the Beast. Squints says
his grandpa worked for the cops, but they couldn’t stop it. The next day, the gang goes to a local
swimming pool where Squints has a crush on Wendy Peffercorn, the local lifeguard. Squints
pretends to drown so Wendy will notice him. They get banned from the pool because of this.
Then the gang plays a game agianst a rival team. Ham and Squints trade insults with the team.
Their insults seem to work because the rival team loses. After, they go out and party. Then,
Scotty gets an autograph from Babe Ruth and the gang wants to play ball agian, so Benny and
Scotty go to the drugstore and get a fake ball. They accidentally break it, so Scotty’s dad gets
mad. Benny has to go to great lengths to retrieve the ball. He does find it, when it ends up on the
doorstep of Mr. Mertle. Mr. Mertle gives the boys an autographed ball from the 1939-1940
season.
Sammy
One day, my mom and I decided to get a pet from the shelter. We didn't
know what to name it so we thought of the most random name possible
name for a cat. We ended up naming it Sammy. (Yeah, I know, it's not a
boy.) Anyway, when we first got her she was obsessed with milk. And when
I say obsessed, I mean obsessed. She’d want to have milk every second of
every day. My mom usually just giving in to her demands. She also slept on
my mom’s bed for a short period of time every night. Eventually, she (my
mom) got so tired of her that I had to take care of her. I didn't like it either.
I’d just pray for the night to be over. She acted this way for about 3 years.
Then things got weird. She wasn’t purring as much as she used to. We
took her to the doctor and received some bad news. We were gonna have
to put her down. That was a sad day. Even though she was annoying
sometimes, I still loved her.
One day there was an acorn named Benny and a squirrel named Dora.
Benny had an afro and Dora had a mohawk. (Yeah, I know, but we have
punk princesses, okay?) Benny and Dora were best friends who loved to
play pranks on people, especially their teachers. They liked to change
signs. Oh wait, I almost forgot. They had a hamster named Herb. Herb’s
owner gave him up for adoption when Herb was small. Ironically, he grew
to be fat. He liked to eat people. As Benny and Dora were walking home
from school, Herb ate them. They were dead.
You will need:
8 frankfurters
8 slices of American cheese
1 package of sliced refrigerator dough
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Wrap cheese around frankfurter
3. Put in oven for 10-15 minutes
4. Eat.
I chose this meal because it is one of my favorite meals to make and have.
It’s also a quick and easy way to eat in the car. The final product is also very
enjoyable. We’ve had these the last two times we went to my mom’s friends’
house and they were very good. For me, I can taste the hot dog the most
when I eat these. Also, eat these around the Super Bowl, since that is a
huge event. In my opinion, it is best served with other food, particularly corn
chips. They are good for watching a movie or huddling around the TV for a
big event. All around, for me, this is the best recipe for my mom and I.

My wonderful, crazy, smart, funny, and beautiful mother was born on May 6,
1964 in Overland Park Kansas. She was born to Carol and Bill Blaine. For
the most part, she lived a happy childhood. She attended Shawnee Mission
West High School. One day (while still in high school) she met my dad. They
went to some Spanish bar called Cocopelli’s. When they were finished
eating their food, my dad walked up to the waiter and said, “Hey Lance,
Feliz Navidad!” That was pretty funny. Anyway, after a long period of
remaining distant, on March 7, 2004, their dream came true. At 1 AM on that
day, my mom gave birth. My dad described in his journal that that was the
happiest moment of his life. But, 9 years later, tragedy struck.
You see, my daddy was a drinker. Now, most of the time, he’d be able to
control it. But 2 weeks before New Years Eve 2013, he got put in the
slammer for drunk driving. When he finished, everyone was excited,
especially me, because I’d get to see my hero again. But, we got some
devastating news: He was sick with cancer. When he was sick, his friends
and I all went to a bar. Unfortunately, that was the last time I saw him alive.
He died on New Years Eve 2013. When the day of the funeral came, I didn't
except the guest list to be so big. My uncle, who’s a preacher, changed
some hymns to associate the lyrics about me.
Today, she currently teaches at Ohara High School and raises me to have
the best possible life I can. She’s processing the world, mourning every
death, embracing every life. We’ll get through it, no matter what. Thanks
Mom!
