Circa 1859-1860 Rococo four-piece parlor seating set in the Hawkins pattern. Set consists of settee (50½" tall x 66" long x 34"
deep), armchair (46½" tall x 26½" wide x 32" deep), and two side chairs (42" tall x 19½" wide x 25" deep). The matching parlor
table is being sold separately in the next lot. The wood on all pieces appears to be in very nice overall condition. Settee shows some
fraying to the front edge of silk seat and on the arms. Chairs are on the original casters. The set was originally built and shipped to
the Westover Family of Bay City, MI by Meeks personally on a steamship on Lake Huron.

Cabinet is made of walnut with satinwood and boxwood veneers and marquetry. It features two interior shelves on the top and two

or missing marquetry.

Circa 1880 French style vitrine is hand-painted on gold leaf and features ormolu mounts, hinged top with beveled glass and velvet
interior, curved fitted glass on the sides, single interior glass shelf, and mirrored back panel. It measures 41" tall x 27" wide x 12"
deep. It bears a celluloid Herts Brothers Furniture label on the back. Herts Brothers were furniture designers and interior decorators,
active in New York City from about 1876 to 1908. At the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893, the Herts Brothers won
the highest award in their category for their Louis XV room at the Manufacturers Building.

Circa 1880 English gold Renaissance Revival mirror features carved classical face at the top center and acorn, leaf, and bracket

in 1883 and hangs in the Hillwood Museum in Washington DC, 2012 as donated in 1973 by Marjorie Merriweather Post. Colorful
photogravure measures 17¼" x 29½" and is professionally mounted under glass in a frame measuring 28" x 40".

Spectacular walnut cylinder desk bears tag that indicates it was manufactured in the Pia Casa di Lavoro (House of Labor) in
Florence, Italy. Desk features bronze ormolu handles, leather topped sliding writing surface with secret compartment below,
progressive locking drawers, and other secret spaces. It is crowned with intricate carving of face with leaves and scrolls. Desk is

holding a staff, known as the caduceus, in his left hand. It is supported by a gust of wind issuing forth from a mask, which depicts
Boreas, the Greek personification of the north wind. The mask is set on a cylindrical plinth featuring cherub decorations in relief.

This one of a kind autograph book was personally compiled for Carrie V. Hollister, the younger sister of Schulyer Colfax (VP under
US Grant and Speaker of the House of Representatives before that) and wife of Ovando J. Hollister (author, historian, newspaper
editor, and civic leader). It is filled with more than 250 signatures of United States Senators and members of the House of
Representatives during the mid-1800s. Most notable are the signatures of President James A. Garfield, three US Vice Presidents
(Colfax, Hannibal Hamlin, and Henry Wilson), Lyman Trumbull (US Senator who co-authored the 13th amendment that abolished
slavery), Frederick A. Sawyer (US Senator who was at Ford's Theater the night President Lincoln was assassinated), and numerous
Civil War heroes. Nearly every page in the book contains three signatures! It is in excellent condition and a remarkable historical
artifact.
208: PHOTO ALBUM BELONGING TO MOTHER OF SCHUYLER COLFAX USD 500 - 1,000
The cover of the photograph album is embossed "Mrs. G.W. Matthews" (Hannah Stryker Colfax Matthews). Inside it is inscribed "To
Mrs. G.W. Matthews from her son Schuyler Colfax, Jan. 1, 1863." Colfax was a Member of the House of Representatives from
Indiana at the time. He became Speaker of the House later that year and went on to become Vice President of the United States
under US Grant. The photographs contained in the album appear to be portraits of family members.
209: PHOTO ALBUM BELONGING TO OVANDO HOLLISTER USD 200 - 500
Ovando James "Vando" Hollister (1834-1892) was an author, historian, Civil War soldier, newspaper editor, publicist, civic leader,
and brother-in-law to Schuyler Colfax (Vice President under U.S. Grant). This album contains photographs and copies of pictures
from Colorado in the 1860s where Vando lived and worked in publishing for the mining industry. Photographs are mainly portraits
and many bear pencil notations indicating who is pictured. The album itself has wonderful closures depicting President Lincoln in
profile.

Bible was printed in 1796 and bears a note indicating it is the "Earliest Post family bible, belonging to Henry Post born 1797."
211: 1900 McKINLEY-ROOSEVELT TIN LADY LIBERTY TRAY USD 300 - 500
Antique tin lithographed 12" round tray features Lady Liberty looking over presidential running mates William McKinley and Theodore
Roosevelt. It was made by Charles W. Shonk Co. of Chicago, Illinois. The 1900 presidential election saw the following shake-up.
President McKinley's vice-president Garret Hobart had died the previous year (1899), so when the Republican convention took place
in June of 1900, a new face needed to be added to the ticket. Roosevelt, just 42, was the young New York governor attempting to
reform Albany politics. The very powerful New York delegation to the convention convinced McKinley to choose Roosevelt as his
new running mate, thus removing him from their state's political realm. Ironically Roosevelt became elevated to the presidency when
McKinley was assassinated a year after the election. This tray then represents a very small window of confluence for the 2 men - just
over a year, from June 1900 convention, to McKinley's death in Sept of 1901. Also worth noting, the older man is wearing the formal
bow-tie, whilst young Teddy is sporting the newly popular "neck tie".

219: SIGNED CHRIS BUZZINI 1999 ART GLASS PAPERWEIGHT USD 300 - 500
Oregon glass artist, Chris Buzzini began using his lampworking skills on botanical materials in paperweights in 1983. These deep
blue asters are certainly a true sign of his artistry and the very clear glass surrounding sets the aster and leaf lampworking off
beautifully. He signs his pieces in script on the side of the paper weight as he has on this one dated 1999. Buzzini began working
with glass in 1970 and has been working as an independent studio artist since 1986. He has expertise in various glassworking
techniques, including flameworking, torch working, murrini making, and cold lamination. Buzzini has been an important contributor to
Correia Art Glass, Lundberg Studios, and Orient & Flume Art Glass. His work has been included in many books on paperweights and
is in the permanent collections of several museums.

Gorgeous antique gold Favrile art glass salt cellar by Louis Comfort Tiffany features an iridized exterior finish and ruffled rim. It
